It’s better that these people are trying out parenthood with a pet instead of an actual child but they make the most insufferable dog owners.

My girlfriend had a dog who was abused as a tiny puppy and had been with her while she was homeless, and normally doesn’t trust men, but when I started dating her this dog 180’d with me and it genuinely felt like it was the ‘lite’ version of dating a parent, because it’s not as straining. I 100% wouldn’t have a kid with her at this current time, but a dog? Absolutely.
The thing is that most ppl that have kids cant just give up their kids, that isnt socially acceptable. Ppl WILL do fuck shit like just leave their dogs/cats in a park and never tell anyone and face little repercussion even though taking care of a dog is pretty damn easy. A cat is even easier.
