Damn Jesse, never been more impressed that you could turn a cube a few times and call your shot that it was from a design from 10 years ago. Then open it up and be spot on! Very impressive!
doesn't matter where someone is A cube store anywhere can sponsor a cuber anywhere (as long as countries don't have any laws/restrictions making it illegal) Cubicle sponsors cubers from all over the world. And yes they've even sponsored cubers from Australia in the past. Not sure if they still do (could well possibly)
Moyu literally took all the best things from there best cubes, and turned it INTO ONE! I am literally so excited for this cube, looks awesome! And it some how CHEAPER??
Me last year: "moyu is making too many cubes". Me now: "they did a great job of iterating quickly to develop what we actually want". Very impressed that they listened to what few criticisms there were about the v9 and addressed them in a smart way.
I actually ended up replacing my Aolong V2 for a WRM V9 a few months ago and I certainly wasn't planning on getting another flagship cube, but damn if its got that OG Aolong design (the edges at least), I might have to get my hands on it.
Damn moyu really trying for world record of the most released 3x3 huh Edit : on another note, the new moyu dual adjustment is so good that it's on par with tornado one with one downside that you do not have visual markers but that doesnt matter that much
For me, it is not good. The losest setting is still blocky for me. That's why i always loved screw more. I cant adjust this below one, but i wal always able to lose a screw more
Happy to see the Aolong mech make a return, though I'm still more of a fan of screws than a fancy system with a finite set of settings. (But even then, Moyu has released so many cubes that even if you like the old system you would have too many options to fit in a single screen) From my understanding of cut lines from designing cubes it's actually closer to Aolong than Weilong. They just trimmed out one anchor from the corner, but the physical lines used to cut the cube into it's individual pieces need to resemble the Aolong lines more than the Weilong lines for such a design to be possible
Maybe the bad side (at least for me) is the sharp corner. I love WRM's line up (since Wrm2019) being having a more rounded corner, because I could feel more comfortable with rounded corner.
I'm glad moyu ditched the maglev only option for the spring ballcore option. It makes the pricing not have a weird range like the V9 and removes the objectively worst option for the consumer.
I hate how people act like cheap is best. For example, tornado v3 is very cheap, but it has bad build quality. I handled it with care, and in 5 months the core magnets started falling out and 2 corner magnets fell out already when it came in the box. If it had plastic and build quality as good as Gan, it would definitely cost upwards of 48 dollars. Nonetheless, weilong v10 is an amazing cube.
For lower budget, v5 is better but performance wise v10 is better. Tv3 is nearly the same performance wise but if you like to customize your cube then tv3 is better. Gan 12 is a little worse overall.
Do you guys think that the spring version would be also better for an Angstrom setup? I usually use Dignitas and Gravitas with either DNM or Mystic. This lube combination was able to slow down even the most uncontrollable cubes for me. So could I perhabs get away with the maglev version? I have Gan 12 , Pioneer V3, Maglev UV V5 and Maglev Guhong pro and the Guhong is the only one I treated with DNM after angstrom lubes and is the only one that become kind of too fast.
Is the magnet in the ballcore of the most expensive version not attached properly? I had this problem on my v9, and I opened the ball core and glued the magnet.
Should I get springs ballcore version or malev ballcore version ? The cheaper the budget, the better for me, but my only condition is that it be good enough and worth it.
Kinda awesome the bong core models come with six different bowls. Not sure why they put all that adjustment crap in there, though. Doesn't leave much room for your -weed- -tobacco- incense. The little caps are a nice touch, though, in case the fuzz shows up and you have to quickly toss a cap on and -run from the police- cooperate fully with law enforcement. You don't want your -weed- -tobacco- incense falling out while you're -cheesing it from the pigs- engaging in volunteer work as a productive and law-abiding member of your community.
What about magnet strenght? Moyu moved towards stronger magnets later, how does this stack up relative to, say, the V9 (which is often considered having the strongest magnets), or the ys3m and the rs3m V5? Thanks!
I had an RS3M V5 with the something loose inside the ball problem … not quite as bad as your example, but definitely distracting once I put a few drops of lube in the thing. CS took care of it, and now the thing is nice and quiet. Plus with the recommendation I got to try some FZ Rush (which I combined with a couple other things ultimately, I've got my RS3M V5 turning buttery smooth and quiet … It's so cool! I'm not going faster by much as a result yet but I'm actually not working on speed so much right now as I am recognizing how to use what I know to turn more optimally and without turning the cube to do it. Will it improve my times to do that? A little. But mostly it's about unlearning bad habits that make me slow no matter what and trying to wire the neurons that'll let me do an alg from any angle, because that will make me WAY faster when I have learned the rest of the tech.
