I often hear them being friendly towards other tenants, yet most are rude to me! I've learnt that they're being FAKE to those ones, but it has affected me over the years and do my best to avoid them all nowadays. Mind you, it seems to be a common theme that narcissistic individuals will take off their "mask" with me after a short period of time, which must mean that they view me as even lower on the rung of the human race. 🤔
My ex of 25 years. Blisteringly cruel. Shortly after our marriage he described exactly how he psychologically reduced his last wife to powder and destroyed her life. And snickered. It was chilling. He suddenly look at me and said; “oh sh*t. If we ever divorce, you know my entire playbook.” Indeed. 😢
The mirroring was so pervasive at the beginning, that when I sold my house and moved halfway across the country for him, the mask came off and there was such a personality shift that I was in shock. They accused me of everything they were doing (that was emotionally destructive, including lying about who they were) and I thought they actually had a personality disorder. I finally understand what is going on, but don't feel like I can just walk away because it would be so disruptive to the two teen boys of his that still live with us. I have begun to take steps to protect myself financially and make sure my son is cared for, who lives in another state now (yeah, ask me why!!!)

One of the things I’ve experienced is that, because I’m single and with no children, narcissists I cross paths with are not.havin’.it. Whether they are quietly embittered about their responsibilities to their own, possibly narcissistic abuse family or family of origin, whether it’s that they get jealous of you having the freedom to get up, cook, go to sleep, enjoy your pets, have a nice car, you look like a meal ticket, and they’re thinking about coming in and using you up. People, especially narcissists - are watching. And, if you’re the picture I just described, which probably means you’re very much alone, since they sit and observe that, too, you’re free for the taking and don’t see them coming, as far as they’re concerned. When you meet new people, as one YTer used to say, slow things down. Do things feel decently paced and normal OR does it feel like love bombing and is pushy, with possible expectations? Look at the general picture of THEIR lives. Can you sniff out that they’re so warm and friendly, way too soon, because they’re just really nice and want to build a friendship OR are they thinking about setting up some kind of life exchange, like what Kevin is talking about here? Because YOU may be all warm, empathetic and even still hopeful there’s 🦄 and 🌈 out there. But, there’s still a HIGH likelihood, that you’ll meet up with yet another narcissist, wasting your time and meaning you no good.

This is totally true. My ex narc started copying how I dressed, and she started competing with me when it came to our physique. When I her and I met she wasn't in the best of shape. I remember her saying one day she'll get in better shape then me sooner then later. Then when she started the devaluation phase I started getting depressed and was losing muscle mass. I remember the day she broke up with me she intentionally pointed out that I loss weight and smirked. What a way to live. Good thing I was.onky with her for 4 months. There was a lot or red flags in the beginning, but I ignored them because me being the Christian I am I thought I'd give her chance after chance. Also I educated myself years before her and I got together about NPD. So I knew about the idealization phase, love bombing, mirroring, push and pull, future faking, reactive abuse discard and hovering. It was pretty amusing to actually see it all come to pass. I hear that a narcissist views others as "self objects" and the reason for their rage is that they can't separate their Selves (although I don't think they have a Self so they take other's Self) from the Self of others and since they can't face shame on them because they feel it as self destruction, whatever makes them feel wrong or shame they try to put a distance from or cut it off. I hope that makes sense. It's madness like when they assume you can read their minds.
Totally agree of the inability to separate self from the self of others.Separation of the self to become your own person and understand others are their own person also is an important stage of development. Individual self and recognizing others as such seems to be a stage skipped entirely. For some it seems , separation anxiety and abandonment issues play sone kind of role. Such as: if I don’t have full control over then it is equal to separation/ abandonment. Sadly,it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy when the push away the object of control bc of…their controlling.

WTH 🤦🏻♀️ that one tho, she didn’t win n now that my kids are young adults and see her for who and what she is, she’ll never get that one! Omg it’s disgusting that a mother could do that to her own child! Here’s the thing, now that I’m not a child anymore and know wth is going on and what is wrong with her, she will never beat me at anything anymore because I’m stronger, smarter, and educated on how to handle people like this. This is unfortunately the cold, hard reality and truth. Telepathy is also something real. Even after years of no contact, change of ID and state, remaining under the radar, living a humble and quite existance, still their death and destruction wish can come through in dreams, thoughts, feelings, etc... Life has taught me to be very careful with those quotes of "The Universe has got your back" and "It's safe to emerge". The video didn't address how to prevent these stages from happening if you can't leave the environment. How can you stop the progression of these stages that are surely to come? I don't like this demonizing thing, I grew up with a grandiose and a covert narcissist, yes, they treated me horrible, it's true. But! I've always had a thought in the back of my mind that I feel deeply sorry for them, they can never ever be happy, they can't connect with any living thing, they don't enjoy sun, rain, wind, snow, they don't live basically. They're so busy to protect their ego that they lose everything else. My covert narcissist father has absolutely zero confidence. He tried to take it from me because he doesn't have it. Once he was honest with me, only once in his life, I asked him a lot why he doesn't want to look deeper into himself and never got an answer until once he was drunk, he said: because it's too painful. So don't forget please, that narcissists aren't born but made that way. It's similar to those, who has been abused as a child and now he became the abuser. This is the way of sin, I have no idea how to break this cycle but it has to be done if we want a bright future.

At a certain point I literally SAW what was going on , playing out right in front of me . I left the Church and now , within a year 2023 , THAT person moved to my neighborhood ! I hear that a narcissist views others as "self objects" and the reason for their rage is that they can't separate their Selves (although I don't think they have a Self so they take other's Self) from the Self of others and since they can't face shame on them because they feel it as self destruction, whatever makes them feel wrong or shame they try to put a distance from or cut it off.
I hope that makes sense. It's madness like when they assume you can read their minds.
Totally agree of the inability to separate self from the self of others.Separation of the self to become your own person and understand others are their own person also is an important stage of development.
Individual self and recognizing others as such seems to be a stage skipped entirely.
For some it seems , separation anxiety and abandonment issues play sone kind of role.
Such as: if I don’t have full control over then it is equal to separation/ abandonment.

It is very weird n nutso! This is what my narc mother has done w everything in my life and the worst one was she tried to get rid of me so she could be my kids mother! WTH 🤦🏻♀️ that one tho, she didn’t win n now that my kids are young adults and see her for who and what she is, she’ll never get that one! Omg it’s disgusting that a mother could do that to her own child! Here’s the thing, now that I’m not a child anymore and know wth is going on and what is wrong with her, she will never beat me at anything anymore because I’m stronger, smarter, and educated on how to handle people like this. I cut them all (her narc family) out of my life and now in a short time it’ll be her turn and I can live the rest of my life in peace……

While we should obviously do everything possible to keep a distance from these dangerous narcissists, what if your supervisor is an evil narcissist and you are not financially able to quit your job? The video didn't address how to prevent these stages from happening if you can't leave the environment. How can you stop the progression of these stages that are surely to come? Would really like to know.

I don't like this demonizing thing, I grew up with a grandiose and a covert narcissist, yes, they treated me horrible, it's true. But! I've always had a thought in the back of my mind that I feel deeply sorry for them, they can never ever be happy, they can't connect with any living thing, they don't enjoy sun, rain, wind, snow, they don't live basically. They're so busy to protect their ego that they lose everything else. My covert narcissist father has absolutely zero confidence. He tried to take it from me because he doesn't have it. Once he was honest with me, only once in his life, I asked him a lot why he doesn't want to look deeper into himself and never got an answer until once he was drunk, he said: because it's too painful. So don't forget please, that narcissists aren't born but made that way. It's similar to those, who has been abused as a child and now he became the abuser. This is the way of sin, I have no idea how to break this cycle but it has to be done if we want a bright future.
