Welcome everyone! My goal for this 1st 30 days is to refocus on strict Carnivore - I have been Ketovore for the past 4 months (was Carnivore for the year prior) and I don't feel as well on Ketovore and I am no longer releasing fat. I also hope to gain new knowledge from all of you, and support and encourage everyone along the way! Lets make this the best 30 days everrrrr!
I went on carnivore 3 years ago as an elimination diet to try and cure my IBS. It completely cured me. As a side benefit I dropped 25 pounds and now weigh 118 which is what I weighed in high school. A couple times I tried adding veggies back but every time my IBS returned. So I am now carnivore for life.
Instead of buying electrolytes, you can make sole water. You put a quarter cup of a good mineral salt like Redmonds or Celtic Sea salt in bottom of quart size mason jar. Add water and let sit over night. The minerals will come out of the salt and get into the water. First thing in morning, add a teaspoon of this sole water into your cup of water. I store mine in the frig. CORRECTION: only put a teaspoon in a cup of water first thing in the morning! This is not something you want to do all day as you will get too much sodium. Sorry I had the dosage wrong so I corrected this.
Correction on my sole water! It is recommended to only put a teaspoon in a cup of water in the morning. Do not do this all day or you will get too much sodium.
Oh and don't forget your salt and other electrolytes with all that fluid loss. You don't want dizzy spells or start feeling poorly. Also, don't overdo the amount of water you drink, but drink enough so you don't get dehydrated. 😁
Carolyn - just checking in and hoping you are still have a great start with this! I am down 2.5 lbs./1130 gms. as of today. And I had a huge spurt of energy today....even cleaned my basement! 😯
Hello, thanks for doing this challenge. I’m a return to carni gal. My question is about protein portions. When you weigh your protein is it before or after you cook it? For example 50gm of bacon is 17g of protein but it weighs less after it is cooked. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for joining! A fellow return to strict carnivore girl. Usually most will give you the ability to distinguish if it’s cooked or raw. In my 3rd prep video when I used the Nutrition website, I could include the word raw or cooked when looking it up. When in doubt, assume raw though. I usually weigh my food raw. I will look it up on a few on my nutrition apps and see which ones do what. I’ll check back then. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks Mama Bear! You are an inspiration.

Jen, I’ve noticed a big fluid loss today. Yay. And a loss of 900gms. !!
That is awesome! I also lost a ton of excess fluid today as well. I will weigh tomorrow, as I forgot today😏Thanks for the update!

@@JentasticJourney thanks Jen. Good reminder. I love salt. I have Redman’s salt, it is so tasty.

@@JentasticJourney Thankyou Jen
I did check Cronometer (my fav), Carb Manager and MyFitnessPal and all allow you to add the word "raw" or "cooked" and you get different values.
@@JentasticJourney thanks Jen. What would you do? I want to keep things simple.
I typically weigh food raw. When it’s cooked I’m ready to eat it…☺️
