- 🤑 How to make money 3D printing. Here is the cad software I use:
Fusion 360: autode.sk/3GkRaJ0
My second favorite: www.shapr3d.com/
Great free option: www.blender.org/
Pay someone to make designs for you: go.fiverr.com/visit/?bta=5892... - Навчання та стиль
You have to be granted a license to make money on someone else's work. Just joining a Patreon doesn't necessarily grant you a license.
Many models are permitted for commercial use, others arent
@@crazybird199mmm. Interesting I couldn't tell if he was being facetious or not but, wow. It's definitely an idea.
correct, if your going to print and sell make sure that the OC explicitly states that it can be used commercially
True, it depends who's models you are selling.
True, although a lot of people allow commercial use if you sign up for their Patreon, which is probably why OP got confused.
My 8yo daughter literally said "hey dad I know what you could do with a 3d printer...
print money!"
Dont steal other peoples designs to sell tho
I agree.
@@kevbot. My brother in Christ, you made the video
@@PrestaPretzel most ppl allow selling their designes as prints when you subscribe to their patreon.
@@kevbot. why tf you make video encouraging to do it? Wtf
@@PrestaPretzelMany things on thingiverse are licensed for commercial use.
Wow I was thinking that you printed money 🤣🤣🤣
I wish lol
You “were” thinking or was thinking
@@BenM_25 woops, sorry, a little gap 😅
I was expecting money laundering
Avoid Etsy and paying taxes just do craft shows and pocket all the green stuff.
Then realize the worst thing you can do is actually owning a 3d printer. Design makes 99% of my profit, and the printer just eats the rest in labor hours.
Not always, there are many who want things 3D printed for them. I've made a few sales without even trying.
@@crazybird199 it really was a joke tbh. First thing you do when you get a 3d printer, print part for the 3d printer Xd
@@meusana3681 oh, i see now
@@meusana3681 that was actually the part I was stoked about when I first got mine, you can print your own upgrades!
@@bigwendigo2253 We have a saying in machine shops, the guy that invented the lathe used a lathe to do it XD
Thanks, good tips
Glad it was helpful!
Shapr3d ❤️
woooahhh, how is the patreon thing ok? youre basically stealing someone else’s files.
Most people allow you to sell physical prints when you sign up to there patreon. You just can't sell the digital files.
Why? If you have a license or they specifically allow you to do so, you're free to sell
@@kevbot. I see! thanks for clearing it up for me.
What do use to design stuff?
Fusion 360
Very good
Thank you!
I made my first design where do you recommend listing the file cults?
Cults is great because it's free. Etsy would also be a good choice.
Redesign parts to fix known problem in the auto motive industry in models of cars that have a monopoly on cost and distribution of these parts. Just change it up a bit to avoid patient pending copyright. (Copyright normally only applies to new designs) vehicle manufactures tend to not renew patients on old designs after they make new models cause they already made their money off those models. Called engineered obsolescence
Great incite! That is a awesome use for 3D printing.
@@kevbot. it’s what I do in my shop when a dealer ship says $xxx, xxx.xx for some random plastic switch or mounting bracket. I scan the new part as best I can and then send it back for parts replacement warranty. Then print it and try different materials until it works as good or better then the engineered garbage. I want a metal printer but I don’t have the money and I’m a busy mechanic. And don’t really have the drive in me to try and open another business making parts. But for a software savvy expert like you could make those files and it could help a lot of garage mechanics that are tight on funds fix their cars and save them a lot of money. In turn you get a lot more business avenues
@@kevbot. honestly anything that helps do it yourself Wes fix their cars or home saves them a ton of money in service charges from trades. And since your home and car are likely the most expensive investments in most people’s lives. This is a massive potential to help a lot of people that can’t afford shark bite plumbing fittings or a new $79.99 shower head or whatever. Just common fittings and stuff to save people the extra money for household stuff. Like an adaptor to fit different lids on plastic wear cause their always lost lol. Or legs for their comfy chair that wobbles. Or a garden hose adapter to a sprinkler. These things are on the market already but look at Amazon for some fittings. It’s like $13 a fitting. 3D printing them by the dozen or hundred is pennies. And selling them is just as easy on the market as any other product. I see a lot of printing channels making random novelty stuff for entertainment. But imagine the market for cheaper building or repair products. I’ve even printed replacement parts for customers that I couldn’t get on 1 day orders but scanning the broken parts and filling in the missing or damaged areas and having the part made the next morning for instal before the customer even returns. And I basically give them the part for free cause it costs me like $1 and a hour or two to set the printer up. Doesn’t always work out but I’ve gotten a lot of return business just for trying my best to help them back on the road as fast as possible.
I fixed a coupler harness for a 2018 freightliner cascadia truck by taking a hood one apart and scanning the pieces. The dealer wanted $1,500 cause the harness was a one piece deal. Cost me like 2 hours and $6 to remake and it’s still working 4 years later.
Next up: How to make money using a 2D printer.
Step 1. Print Money.
lol
Can't u just print money$?
What about printing models that customers send you to print? No design skills necessary and no upfront cost of you already have a printer
That is another great option.
From a copyright lawyer, this is the worst advice ever! 😂
How so? Designers give commercial licenses for you to sell there prints when you subscribe to them... so how could you get in trouble for copyright?
Just print the money
What is the best site to sell files?
Cults3D and Myminifactory are the most popular.
Best advice to get legally sued
Thanks for the tips!
Happy to help!
Me: prints fake money
lol
Selling someone else's work without permission is illegal, and I'm pretty sure UA-cam doesn't allow promotion of illegal activities
Yes, selling someone else's work without permission is illegal. However, if you sign up to there patreon and get permission to sell the files...... it is perfectly legal.
I thought that you're making money printing machine using 3d printer
Lol that would be awesome!
Blender isn't cad software...
Good point, it does have cad capabilities now though.

Thank you :)
Idk man, most people with a 3D printer would find these pretty obvious. I guess if you’re not in possession of one then it wouldn’t be.
How inflation started
So learn cad and forget the printer, gotcha.
Pretty much.
@@kevbot. My saltiness isnt towards you btw bro, its because Ive been trying to teach myself cad for 2 years now and I can barely make a cube with a hole extruded into it. I need an irl teacher and I cant find one anywhere.
@@nomadautodidact I know what you mean, CAD is very challenging to learn. Have you check out videos on UA-cam about learning CAD? Its helped my a lot.
@@nomadautodidact Oh jeez, I wanted to make a super complex part for my gun, watched a 30 minute intro video into FreeCAD and I was able to recreate the part within 2 hours. 48 hours later, I have the (8th version) final model dialed in and perfected.
The point of my comment is that I had no idea CAD was so difficult to other people. Since it's been 9 months, were you able to learn CAD?
I have some designs on Turbosquid but no luck...any other platform?
Cults 3D and My mini factory are pretty popular.
American People sell licensed products in Mexico across the border on the week ends not pay and they get away for selling across the border. It happens in Texas and California on both places I asked them if they had a license we almost fought
Also school college text book copies
Bruh, is blender a CAD software (without addon’s)?
Its not, but yes there is an addon to make it an actual CAD software.
I have made about £30 just from people who I talk to saying "can you print this for me"
“How to make money 3D printing” start by downloading a STL file of a 100$ bill
😂
Go outside and make sales. Don't sell dumb stuff, sell things people or business would buy from you in bulk. Cut out the middle man and make money
Hustle.
Dude what the hell, is he hacking up loogies and spitting onto his wall?
Then you have to deal with paying taxes on the sales every year. Remember there is a cap of $600 anything after that, younger 1099
Good point. Definitely keep track of the sales for taxes.
Depends on where you’re selling
I sell on Mercari
Hmm I've never heard of that. I'll have to check it out.
I thought you would be printing money
I wish lol
FBI open up
Etsy is terrible. Develop a community of people that know what you do around you and don't gotta pay a platform to sell your work
I agree, but it is easier to start on Etsy.
So, stealing designs and underpaying designers. Got it.
Only petreon?
Also, Printables and Thangs. Anywhere where you can obtain a commercial license to sell the prints.
@@kevbot. ok
People that are only there for the money ruin the 3D printing community.
i got kicked off etsy, what else you got?
Amazon Handmade
You have to check if you are allowed to sell it. Please take down this video
Obviously you have to check.
thats shit , if you want to make 400€ with 3d printing , dont spend 400€ on a 3d printer
I would spend more to get the bambu labs.
Not ethical
