A great Kitchen addition is the IKEA Skardis pegboard and any number of handy little designs - I have one I used to make an "Espresso Corner" for my best friend that has Portafilter holders I made, a Tamper and WDT holder, WDT I made her and other items.
This was way better than I was expecting; I could definitely use the entire set of objects for kitchen and travel. I've been holding back from a 3D printer, because I've got too much going on at the moment to add 3D printing to the learning curve; but your channel has totally convinced me that obtaining a printer is a must (for me anyway)
Awesome list sir! That basket at the end was one of the first 50 things I printed when I got my new printer and was totally new to 3# printing back in 2020. You're right! It is so satisfying to deploy.
I have een a lot of these things before and thought at one point I might not learn anything new, but I was wrong you showed me a couple of things I hadn't seen before. Thank you
Why oh why do people keep designing hexagons with bridge parallel with the bed, if you rotate the pattern 90 degrees then there is no bridging, I see this all the time, such a simple change will improve the printability of a part.
Michael that was cool. Yes I did find a few items in the video that will be of great use in organizing house and shop. Keep up the greatness. And chip clips... dozens of uses in and around the kitchen. Again Michael, many thanks.
I haven't gotten far enough into my drawer organizing to use it but Zac's gridfinity system on Thangs is great. There's a TON of options, some require magnets but not all. Good if you have drawers that eat everything
You don;t need a brake to slow the eggs down in the two-layer holder. You just need to load it from the front up the first time, so the eggs only ever get to roll one egg of distance at a time. Loaded that way, the eggs can't build up enough momentum to bang into each other and cause damage.
The cable winder looks like a winner. I've lost count of all the USB cables and earphones I have. That collapsible basket is cool too, but one thing I've learned about children is that if there's a basket to collect things in, they're determined to fill it.
I feel like you're intended to start by placing the eggs directly on the bottom of both of those dispensers when they're empty. Once the dispenser is mostly-full, they won't be able to build up enough momentum to damage the eggs when you place them at the top.
@ 2:10 - Michael: "The kids are learning to organize their room, AND gaining an appreciation for 3D printing!" Michael's partner: "Neither of those things are happening."
Great video! I already used a two part cable winder, which separates quite easily, making it a bit inconvenient. But the one you have shown in this video looks better for me since it is print-in-place, and it stacks better. As soon as I get to print, this is on the list “To Print”.
How long do cables survive winding and unwinding? It looks like a way to break them. Then again, traveling itself might be almost as bad for them, and knots probably are a bigger problem?
@@maxmustermann2596 I have been using those cord winders for about half a year. The only damage I have noticed on the cable is that the middle gets pretty kinked, which I don't think the design TT showed off solves that.
That tooth brush cap sent shivers down my spine. Thinking about all those bacteria happy to find a home in between the layer lines....brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
(As for the Pen Holder) A TIP: When storing Pens/Pencils, it's Pens down (so the ink flows to the tip) AND it's Pencils up (so their tips stay sharpened).
@@andrey.p you don't use your fountain pen caps as backup ink well booby traps? I don't know if you're using fountain pens correctly unless half of your worldly possessions are permanently ink stained.
Anything that involves hygiene/cleaning or food/beverages I tend to avoid printing (except bag clips). It's just too easy for fdm printed items to have great places for bacteria to stay and grow. If you really must print stuff that also needs to be sanitary, look into food safe clear layer paints or epoxies to coat the print in to make a more even surface so bacteria aren't able to hide and grow.
Eggs have a natural coating that protects them meaning they don't need to go into the fridge. Except in the US they're washed for retail, removing the coating, so they should go into the fridge.
Eggs sold in the USA need to be refrigerated, as they have the protective cuticle removed. Eggs in other places generally don't, so they're often okay not being in the fridge.
@@xbadjokerxhow long do you hold on to your eggs 🙃?? It can be hold for 14 days without any problems outside the fridge.. But mostly the temperature is the problem. In warmer climates it is sometimes better to store the colder..
Like others have said, store bought USA eggs must be refrigerated because we choose to acid wash the eggs. That limits the amount of bacteria but also allows eggs to become internally contaminated. Unwashed eggs do not require refrigeration for some time. Possibly many weeks. In order for a good system to work a country must have some uniform rules and a type of food handling culture.
For the collapsible basket, shocked you did give egg collecting as a use. Have a thin stack of them by the door. Whoever is going out to get the eggs, they grab a basket or two and just go collect.
Friends from the USA, do you really not use the steering wheel for its intended purpose, or does the mug holder on the steering wheel look strange to you, just like to me?
I've watched TONS of videos on 'useful' 3d prints and this one also has nothing useful lol. I always hope i'll find at least one idea that i could use, but... I don't really travel. I don't use a toothbrush. I use floss, soft rags and mouth washing to avoid scrubbing, abrasives and bristles As a result i have no idea what a toothache or dental problem is. I have all my teeth (minus some chips and scratches from faceplants) including my wisdoms I don't have kids. I already have a mug full of writing utensils, who doesn't? I don't have a desk i need a name plate for. I don't wear glasses. I don't have any bottles to dry. I don't eat eggs. I don't eat chips or anything from a bag. I don't drink from cans. I drink Cubano coffee at home out of a nice small espresso mug like a civilized monkey. I don't have cables i need to roll and unroll. I make nice live edge oak coasters from 'cookie' cuts of logs. Probably have a hundred of them, in a box somewhere idk i never use them, i don't have cold drinks or surfaces that could be damaged by them, or guests since i live in a turtle in the sky and nobody climbs a 7000' mountain to visit a weirdo in a weird little turtle shaped hobbit house. Don't get me wrong, 3d printing is hella useful, i make all kinds of stuff but almost none of it is anything i ever find on any website. I'm always making replacement parts for stuff, like i fixed several broken tripods by modeling replacement head pieces, i make guides, tools, and templates of all sorts, and i make and sell locally branded keychains and earrings to tourists where i live when i have the time. But never, do i ever find stuff online that is useful AND designed properly. I just downloaded and printed a chisel and plane sharpening guide because i was lazy about modeling one. Well, surprise! The mouth is too shallow to hold any of my chisels, it bends and goes all crooked when you tighten it and is almost impossible to get a blade mounted straight in it. But it's got a bunch of likes lol. Right now i'm designing a minimal modular 3d printed rc airplane parts system that works like 'Legos', you print out as many small building blocks as you need and can put them together in all sorts of configurations and sizes.
Bacteria can collect between layer lines, so it's not usually recommended unless you use some sort of food safe liner. That said - none of the prints in this video directly touch the edible part of food.
I cannot print that fabric coaster in silk PLA. I've tried 3 times already with 3 different settings. When I do with the PLA, it goes smoothly, the coasters look fantastic. is there a chance you know who designed it? i bet its some boring genius
It's Gridfinity 😂
