The Lenovo IdeaCentre 5 14ARE05 has a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port in front. Can you confirm if this USB-C port is capable of using an adapter like a USB-C to HDMI or VGA to connect to a TV or Monitor? Tks.
Great review. I really wish you can reply to this comment because i have the same exact model with a minor difference in that i have one stick of 16GB memory. I have been using this PC for almost a month now and it has been super smooth and fast. I mainly use it for Video editing and graphic design and it works excellent. What i want to know, because there isn't much reviews or videos on this PC, is what can I upgrade to utilize the full potential. I don't game so installing a graphics card is something that i am not interested in doing. I do want to expand the storage on this PC. You mentioned that there is a bracket to installing a 2.5 HDD but there isn't any SATA port on the Power Supply. In my PC i noticed that there are SATA I, SATA II, and SATA III. But only SATA III is not being used. Does this mean i can attach a 2.5 HDD? My next question is can i replace the Optical Drive with a 2.5 SSD if i get a bracket/Caddy to replace the Optical drive? The next question i have is how do i replace the small m.2 ssd to the more common m.2 ssd (2280)? I read that i have to remove then WLAN adapter from the mother board in order for this to happen? My next question is can i add a PCIe m.2 nvme adapter to the two vacant PCIe slots on this mother board and attach m.2 SSDs to get more storage amd what will the capacity be if it is possible? My final question, can you send me the links to where i can find appropriate RAM for this motherboard as i am having a difficult time finding it on Amazon and other online retail stores. We have the same PC! LENOVO did a great job. And excellent video. I am a new subscriber!
1. I mentioned there is no power adapter from the power supply. To add an extra drive, we have to replace the power supply so that we can power up the new drive. The drive will not run if you just connect it to the SATA header. 2. If you found a compatible caddy, you can put a 2.5" drive & replace the CD. 3. To replace the M.2 SSD, it's very easy and tool-less, you just need to pull back the latch that secure the M.2 drive to take the SSD out. Then you can remove the plastic holder from the original position and move it to the 2280 one. I'm sorry that it is hard to explain, I am planning make a follow up video, but I hope you got the idea. There is no need to remove the WiFi adapter. 4. Yeah, you can use a PCI-E adapter to add more NVME SSDs. There is no limit but your wallet :))) 5. Here is the link to the 8GB RAM: ebay.us/vwIy5N
@@PokerFaZe Thank you so much for the reply. Am sorry that i had to remind you to reply haha. UA-cam thinks everyone is spam. I will be looking forward to you follow up video on this Lenovo. It is truly great value. After answering my questions i will now replace the optical drive and replace with a 2.5 ssd or 2.5 hdd. @ 2:35 You can install at least 1 2.5" SSD or a HDD but the PSU doesn't have enough cables to power them. But you can replace the HDD already installed. You can also replace the 256GB NVMe M.2 SSD on the motherboard
It comes with 3 types of CPUs: 4300G, 4600G and 4700G. Yeah, you can add a GTX 1650, but if you replace the PSU, you can add any single fan GPU like GTX 1660Ti or RTX 3060 Ti for example.
@@PokerFaZe will the psu that we can buy from Amazon, like the 450w corsair, etc., fit tge chassis of this desktop and can be plugged into its motherboard?
Do you think that I can modify this by adding a CPU cooler? I don't really know the clearance for one, and the fan size to use? I plan on buying the Lenovo IdeaCentre with the 5600G. So, it will run hot. Upgrading the CPU cooler and adding some fans will make a worlds difference.
According to this link, you are probably not able to upgrade the CPU as the mobo may only be used with 4000 CPUs, so I think you should not bother forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Desktop-Towers/IdeaCentre-AMD-CPU-upgrade/m-p/4619242?page=1#4619242

@@davidmeloni8282 bro please help. Is it worth it bro? they say a single channel ram is going to perform 50% less than a dual channel. I won't be upgrading anything for the next 5months. If I get the 4600g I will also be sacrificing the b450mobo, I'll get a320 instead.
