Guy at 3:55 who said he landed 5-10 feet away is a true golfer😂
More like 30 lmfao
5-10 yards maybe haha
And he'll say the putt was longer haha
He tells his wife he’s 6-8 inches for sure 😂😂😂
@@FreePickCapper this comment makes no sense how would this fictional wife not know the truth?
As a person trying to break 100, a lot of these players made me feel good about my game.
Tip for breaking 100...play a par 3 course 😉
But seriously par 3 courses are fantastic to work on the 150yd and in shots and putting where more than 70% of shots in a round are. Chipping and putting are the biggest things to work on to break 100 I helped my nephews go from 110 to 90 in less than a year of casual play
Eliminating 3 putts can drop 10 strokes a round alone
I started playing golf about 2 years ago, I can say I am finally a below 100 golfer. It is a good feeling, just keep going out there and your score will go down.
is break 100 even a thing? i think i scored a 92 in my first round of golf ever, you should go watch clay ballards golf vids, they're excellent if you want to learn how to golf right.
The guy describing his shot as 5-10 feet is so classic. I bet he also described it as a 25 foot putt after.
it was a great putt
It probably WAS a 25 foot putt lol. Thats what makes the 5-10 claim so much funnier
@@TheStaniG that's the joke
I’ve eagled this hole many times 😂
If you’re pulling a club head cover off for a 130 yd shot into an island green, just throw your ball into the water and keep walking to 18
Right? I was thinking the same thing!
The visual I get of somebody walking up to the tee box, looking at the flag, throwing their ball in the water, and walking off is so damn funny.
I be hitting a 9 iron and I am not a big hitter
whats this mean?
@@robertkennedy7456 yea I’d hit 8 max don’t know what these people are thinking
This is so good. Would love to see more 20+ handicappers give some of the holes on the tour a go. Gives us weekend warriors a glimpse into how hard it is while having a laugh too! 😂
i played a couple PGA tour courses, and i've played them in the mid 80s, they're not so tough, there's not really any course i would dread to play to be honest.
Repent to Jesus Christ ““Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”
Luke 16:10 NIV
h
they all look 20 plus hcap
@@Reavix1 Try the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island and come back here to be honest on your second post.
It looked like some of them were... Some of those swings were horrendous
Can we just take a moment to appreciate normal golfers also getting the opportunity to play such an iconic hole? No need to talk trash on other people's swing not everybody is Rory or some other pro with a good swing, and why give a damn on other people's game when you have yours to focus on?
All that and it’s fun to trash other swings.
They put themselves on TV, we all get to play teaching pro and critique
Well their demeanor screams "ive been playing golf for a while and have the right to play this hole" while their swings looks like they haven't even taken lessons (can't even do a basic L to L move???)... so yeah
Too much money and not enough skill. There should be a ban on being this much of a hacker and getting to play these golf courses. Money alone should not get you on the course.
Amen brother
Some of those swings just make my eyes hurt
Guy at 6:19 "pulled it HARD!!"
Mr. Chicken wing swing made me cringe.
I feel personally attacked lol
I’m sure yours isn’t very pretty to watch either
They gave me aids
My swing is worse but it is amazing how dramatically different these swings look compared to the professionals. Even the good golfers looked stiff.
6:16 is the ugliest swing I've ever seen
Can I request you use the “every tee shot tracer in one photo” thing more often. Would love to see it on doglegs where we can see distance differential with how much players can cut off.
3:50 landed maybe 5-10 feet away??? thats like 30 feet lmao
Lol I was thinking the same thing. Sunk the putt though, so can't really say much
Golf anecdotes. I remember the time I holed out for eagle from 160 yards by hitting a sand wedge 95 yards to make a 3 on a Par 4.
Same guy says his "driver" is 9" long
Come on guys, watch the shot again. The challenge was to get it past the water. He meant he was 5 to 10 feet away from the water, not the hole and that is exactly correct.
I immediately looked for this comment
This was fun. Kudos to everyone that gave it their best, especially the few that managed a tour-like birdie. I'd be interested in what a group of single-figure handicap amateurs could manage.
It was so interesting seeing hcp's of all levels hitting the same length shot. I noticed the same issue I have, not transferring weight onto the front foot. When I don't, since I am vastly improving, the ball is a moonshot. When I do, I cover the ball, it flies dramatically lower with a piercing trajectory and spin! I feel the pain and the joy!
8 hcp here. When I plant my feet in my golf stance, I will 'pre-load' my front leg (allows me to swing & rotate a little easier)
They thought they emulated the putt that Tiger hit but unfortunately that putt doesn't exist anymore. The green was re-done a few years ago and they softened the undulation to make it more playable as it was pretty severe even for the Pros. It's still fun going to that spot though and it makes for some good memories.
Played that course about 2 months ago. Absolutely insane how pristine that course is. Unfortunately on hole 17 my shot was about 2 feet short of the green and in the drink.
6:16 first one's in the water haha - no surprise with that swing lol
bro they're amateurs of course they're not gonna have professional grade swings. you're allowed to play and enjoy golf without having the utmost technique.
@@LukeTCC that swing looks like someone whos never played golf before
I brought my step-dad here about 6-years ago... I was about a 11 handicap at the time. I am proud to say I made a par. TPC Sawgrass is the hardest course I ever played... and needed a couple sleeves of balls. On the other hand, equally as g=hard in its own way, and I have played and started and finished with the same ball was Pinehurst #2.
Congrats to the young female pro Alice Hewson, hit the green and holed 🐅 putt!!
That was fantastic!
Yep the ladies tour pro absolutely schooled the men in this video, feminists would cream themselves over this footage
Not the tiger putt
i thought these were all ams?
Yes a great putt. Beautiful indeed.
This was so cool seeing others trying to get on the green on this hole.
i love this video. I wish youd do this with all the iconic holes.
In DC there’s this course called Renditions where there is replicas of iconic tour venue holes including this one and even amen corner. Highly recommend
Same here in Houston called Tour 18. I love playing there
Wooden Sticks in Uxbridge Ontario has several iconic golf holes also. 17 at Sawgrass, Pebble, the old course at St. Andrews, Pinehurst, Augusta etc..
7:35 The 'Better than most' lady on the right really made that putt go in
“Landed maybe five, ten feet away”
His ball landing at least 20 ft away: 👁️👄👁️
Props for sinking the putt though
the amount of pro vs in the bottom of the lake has to be insane
Last time we were at the golf HOF in St Augustine, they had a replica of this hole that you could play
For most this would be a place to test it out without the Big green fee
These swings are special.
There's a course in Maryland that has a scale replica of this hole; found the water 4 times. Dropped on the green-- and four putted. Brutal.
5:34 the golf gods had mercy lol
I'd love to try that!
What a great exercise. I know it's impossible, but I'd love to see this on 12 at Augusta.
My left ear really enjoyed this video.
Best UA-cam video I’ve seen in years. If this doesn’t make you smile…
My left ear loved this video
They say the water level here rises 2-3 inches a year due to all the golf balls entering the water. Amazing really!
Just loved watching this, thanks.
as someone that sucks and has older 2nd hand clubs this was nice to watch. Seeing all those guys with the fancy clubs instantly made me question any past a future scores anyone tells me that i don't witness first hand.
What an absolutely brilliant putt at 7:31 ! I’d remember that one for a long time
You could see some people's confidence just melt away, and there were some horrific swings not even a mother would love, it was entertaining to see how a little water can shatter a person's game.
Horrific swings, you are right, but some golfers think they're good. We should tell them they suck! My swing is as bad as Charles Barkley. I usually shoot low 90s and count every shot, no gimmies, but I just can't stand liars and big ego in golf. Thank god, we don't need to be paired every week with my partners.
@@gmsvalley was that supposed to be English?
@@GeorgeTropicana Non, c’est du français, alors fais moi pas chier!
@@gmsvalley oh god even worse
I played this hole twice in 2016, a month after the Players. 1st day, it was this pin location and I went a little passed the pin, 15ft. Left the putt short but parred it. 2nd day, Sunday location on the right. Birdied it from 25ft, couldn't hold in the excitement. Hit my tee shot on 18 into the water...lol. But it was a great couple of days!
Many years ago some golf magazine had 4 really bad but avid golfers play TPC the day after the pro's Sunday round from the pro tees. The idea was to see what a bad golfer would score on a pro course.
One guy hit **27 balls into the water** and shot a 66 - the same score the winning golfer (Calvin Peete, I believe) shot on Sunday to win the tournament.
He eventually ended up putting it up the land bridge to get onto the island.
I was working as a server on the vip on the 16th and saw that ace in 2019, twas awesome.
Random Golf Club accomplished this no longer that 1+ years ago. :) Great video! I would love to play this course.
Man I’d love to try this
I wonder if any player has hit on to the island tree thing. If that were to happen is there a way for the player to get there so he can hit from there?
I would imagine thats out of bounds. Not gonna take you out there on a row boat.
I was fortunate enough to play there once. I chunked my first shot in the water but hit the next one on the middle of the green and made 5. It was getting dark and I couldn't even see my tee shot on 18, but managed to make 5 there as well. I think I shot about 105 when at the time I was shooting between 85 & 90 on a regular basis. It's not an easy course.
6:15 that swing, 👌
His swing looks like a broom swing 😂
The caveman troglodyte swing
There’s a course out here in the dfw area called the tour and they have a replica of this same exact hole. It’s my favorite hole in all the golf course and when I played it I was the only one that day to actually land on the green.
Same! I hit a 9 iron there to within 9ft and sunk the birdie putt. Only birdie that day, but I'll always remember that shot.
Some interesting swings out there
I played a replica of this hole at World Tour in Myrtle Beach. Happy to say I did not end up in the water.
i loved the bank shot off the beam that was hilarious
So many amateur swings are an amalgamation of 100-500 different youtube advice videos, group lessons, maybe some one-on-one with a pro, but overall there's just so much thought put into an amateur swing. What makes pros different is their repetitive simplicity. They're usually only thinking one swing thought on each shot. Most amateurs are thinking about all the advice they've tried to absorb before that shot..."keep your elbows tucked, keep your left arm straight, slow takeback, keep hands low, inside out, accelerate hands, turn hips, shift weight" trying to think about all of that is what results in such drastic inconsistency and nervousness.
Dude at 8:15 has a lovely swing. Smooth easy 9 iron, with a known distance and good alignment. Perfect.
Some seriously good Am shots here.
“Make him buy my drinks”😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
“I’ll take a 25 year macallan” some of these are damn hilarious 😂😂😂
I would take my normal swing , driver and aim 55 degrees to left of pin and hope my wretched slice would some now stick a landing
Played the course once. Once you step on to the plate, your nerves kick in like crazy. My arms were literally trembling. You have a mini gallery waiting to hit and watching you. I stuck my 9i right behind the bunker and 3 putted for bogey. Pin was in the same exact location.. :l
0:00 the most relatable 1 second clip ever.
When I read Amateur, I was expecting the players on the brink of turning pro. Not on the brink of using top flite z balata
We have an Island green par 4 on our course in Ft Myers FL. As a higher HDCP player it is going to go one of two ways. It's an automatic 7 or it's a par. You can drive it w/in 120 yds or so but the last 120 is all carry to an undulating island green. If you can smooth a wedge 120, you can master this hole... if not take a hockey stick and move on!
The stats say the pros are way better than the amateurs. I'm stunned.
How many balls do you think are in the waters around hole 17?
what a great video!
If it's DRY, it's a good shot!
Not sure I would classify most of these players as 'amateurs'
I need to go to Jacksonville to see the 17th in person
This was awesome (and hilarious)... can't wait to give it a go and contribute to the water balls someday! I thought that was Gary McCord in the Jags hat 🤣
Brilliant vid. Don’t we just love par 3 island greens…..
Some wild golf swings here 😂
University of South Carolina....represent! Nice birdie!
Do more of these!!
Great idea! Very interesting
I swear that walkway with the posts is brand new. Maybe set up just for this event.
Imagine staring down that green at the end of a long round. Bet their hearts are pounding.
This was so cool to see, more like this yeah?
130 yards
52 p wedge or 9 iron. 8 iron into breeze.
Dudes had drivers & hybrids
You never played with some older fellers before mate?
I saw that, too. They play once every 5 years I'm guessing.
Played this hole one time. The three people on my group went in the drink. I was fortunate to land on though I was upset that I two putted.
I love the golfers that look into yardage readers for two mins before every shot then top it, shank it, pull it, push it. My mate did it for years. Put the yardage reader away and concentrate on a good swing !!!
They have this hole in Myrtle Beach at a course called World Tour Golf Links. First shot 3 ft from the pin. One of my favorite birdies.
I play once a year and am pretty terrible but these guys even make me look good
8:42 that noise 😂
Cam Smith is the man cant wait to see him out there.
He’s not playin by the way
Haha he’s not playing buddy
Too bad I guess that means all those “top ranked” players are kinda fake
Who?
@@RyanVOLS The guy who smoked Rory at St Andrews to win The Open starting from 4 shots behind on the final day, that's who 🤡
And this is after play 16 holes!
Crazy towards the very end, it demands deep attention and focus!
And can totally ruin your scoreboard (or others!)
Cleveland on the map baby!!!!
Who hits driver from 131 out?
My dad with a 30 handicap birdied the hole with a 5 wood and a 120 foot put from the very back to the front hole location. Good times.
I feel much better about my game after watching this.
Landed it 5 feet from the pin and then sank the 20 foot putt for birdie! Nice XD
6:36 why is she holding it like a putter😭
Alice Hewson had a day! Living the dream
Was the the golf course where a seagull flew off with a golfball from a green island?
These are the same dudes who will brag about carrying their drives 300 yards in youtube comments sections 🤣🤣
Excellent
Wow, amazing video
Very few things in life are as satisfying as hitting a good golf shot on purpose.
Great video! Even though most didn't make par, they all still had a blast I'm sure
Most fun hole in golf both for players and spectators😀
Cleeeveland this is for you!!!!
My left ear really likes this video
Bucket List.
I think some of these guys are lumberjacks with those swings. A few nailed it!
I want to learn to dive just to go after the Pro V1’s in that pond.
That hole is made for a pitching wedge flight, or 9 iron cut. In windy conditions I'm sure it's a challenge.
