This is much needed, especially today when many people in the US will be drinking alcohol, many of them to excess. Mankind using alcohol as a coping mechanism has destroyed so many lives and grieves God terribly. When we are drunk in the body, we can lose sight of ourselves and those around us. Don't give in to the devil and his demons!
I have now been sober 5 years, by the grace of God, the healing available in the church, and by attending AA meetings faithfully. I highly recommend this book by Fr. Meletios Weber: “Steps of Transformation , An Orthodox Priest Explores the Twelve Steps”.
I don't really know myself but what I thi k I remember hearing is that it's ok to drink socially to have a good time but not to the point where you'd consider yourself drunk. To me it sounded like 'a bit tipsy is ok but you shouldn't be steaming'. Also, the aim of drinking shouldn't be alcohol itself but to enhance the context i.e. a feast, wedding etc. Have you found anything about it?
Father have you know someone in the Catholic Church drunk in the Holy Spirit!? I I feel I have felt that experience but there are some things I need to discern and would like to share them with someone who can understand them
What do I do now that my eyes and heart have been open to the truth? I'm 32 and don't know what I should be doing now, but to live in God's house and be in prayer every day till it's the last day... what I thought I wanted no longer matters only Jesus matters now. Idk what to do...

Hangovers can make a doubter believe in demons pretty quickly, once they get bad enough.
I've had problems with alcohol and drugs since early adulthood, alcohol has been the worst of them all.

Yes. Attend AA meetings. You will see people years of physical abstinence from alcohol. But are absolutely NOT sober

When I am out getting dinner with my wife, I have a couple beers. I want to keep it at 2. Pray for strength for me brothers and sisters!
