I lived 15 years under sharia law, under Islamic oppression. I'm desperately praying to try find forgiveness and peace in my heart, because my instant reaction is always anger against islam. I keep remembering "vengeance is the lord's". Please pray for me so i may find it to forgive those that hurt me, as much as God has forgiven my sins.
Righteous anger is not a sin. In the temple, Jesus became angry when religious profiteers were exploiting people. In response, Jesus made a whip and overturned tables. Anger directed toward satan, his demons, and their unrighteous deeds is acceptable. However, we must forgive and pray for the sinner; those who are deceived by satan and his demons. As Jesus was being crucified, He prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” Stephen did the same. Forgiving those who have done terrible things to us is an impossible task without God's amazing grace and our desire to please and obey Him. In fact, all of God's commands are impossible without His grace to help us. You are never alone when you desire to please God. He is always there with you to help you follow His good commands.
This is providential. My last living grandparent passed earlier this week. None of us are Orthodox, but I am longing to become one. This is extremely helpful, I will continue to learn how to pray for her. God bless you Father.
I feel that Fr Josiah’s teachings are so well received by the faithful for the primary reason that he has become a megaphone of the teaching of the saints!
I am the last Orthodox in my family. One of my greatest worries is that i will have no one to pray for me when i am gone. I will definitely need the prayers.
In your will - Leave your names with orthodox priests in monasteries and in your parish - with a portion of your estate making the Lord Jesus Christ and Panagia benefactors - give a portion to each allocated Church and Monastery and request that at each Divine Liturgy and 40 day Liturgies - the names be commemorated. Ensure the executor of the will prints the names and laminates the paper and distributes accordingly. We are doing this. May it be blessed. 🙏🏻
As an altar server, my priest once told me that if I had any names I wanted him to read during the Proskomedia, to provide him with a list. Well, it slipped my mind and I never got around to giving him a list. I watched Fr. Peter Heers livestream earlier and he mentioned the importance of praying for the reposed and the list of names. Then I watch Fr. Josiah's video and he mentions the same thing. I got the message loud and clear. My priest will be receiving a list of names from me this Sunday.

All thanks to Fr. Josiah Trenham. I am curious and excited at the same time.
I will pray for your recently departed one, Anna Maria. Please pray for my son Jack, known in the church as John (the theologian) who died unexpectedly this spring age 23.
Yes. Rating the prayers of people by supposed amount of power is man based. So much of the Eastern religionism takes from God's glory and hands it over to man. It is GOD who is powerful and hears prayers in HIS perfect wisdom and kindness.

This was wonderful to hear. I am a baby Orthodox having only been welcomed into the church two and a bit years ago. Prayer for the departed is something I'm still learning about. My Dad died earlier this year and we have been praying for him both at home and during Liturgy. I know he wanted to be with God in the afterlife although he never discovered the one true faith. Lord have mercy on him and save him.
I’m in need of The Lord to deliver me from my pride entailing of not praying and talking to him on the regular. I’ve convinced myself of the lie that he won’t hear me or answer me. I am falling back into the self hatred and self sabotaging myself with talking and thinking bad things. I’m trying to decide weather I should become Catholic since it’s the closest thing too me, I have a lot more on my mind but I need Jesus because if not I know myself and I will end up like Judas if I continue in sin and not believing I’m forgiven mainly forgive myself.
Thank you, Father Trenham. I understand you dont read the comments. But this just popped up in my feed, and is an answer to a dream I had this week. My grandfather, Bumpa, died in 1997. He told me he was a Baptist, as was all his family. I dreamed he found me and told me he was so lost, and had been wandering all these years. He wept on my shoulder for a long time, grateful that he had found me. When he was recovered, I was able to guide him to paradise. I was never taught this about praying for the dead. Now I understand why it is so important. Amen.
I am Protestant Baptist who pushed away my faith and have come back….shocker I know. I’m extremely interested in the DEPTH of the Orthodox church. I love your videos they have helped me in many ways. My biggest push back on the Orthodox is what I PERCEIVE as idol worshiping. I’m by no means trying to offend anyone, I’m genuinely interested/concerned with the practice and would love to know where someone like me can find affirmation of these traditions. I think this man is one of those people who you can feel the Holy Spirit within them when they talk, so I have no doubt the legitimacy of the faith. I just cannot in good conscience start to convert with something that TO ME and my perception, see as an issue. Specifically the praying thru the Saints and pictures of the saints. If I misrepresented anything at all, please correct me, no offense taken at all. God Bless and thank you in advance for any help.
