Most Asian countries are homogeneous and their exposure to people of other races comes through Western movies and tv, which itself can be problematic. Japan doesn’t even allow immigration. Having access to the internet doesn’t really solve this as there is so much racism on the internet. Since Kpop is becoming so international, the best thing would be for the companies themselves to do training on this topic.
i dont think it was racist tho, maybe from an us-amercian standpoint it seems racist but that wasnt controverisal at all out of an european view we do that often as a joke just like wendy without meaning to be disrespectful, we are also micking our stereotypes its not meant to hurt anybody but we have more a dark humour so we like to make fun of others while us-amercian humour is kinda... unfunny for us most of the times, because its slightly more childish, i think that is where the difference starts
As a black kpop fan I'm so tired of these stans calling black kpop stans sensitive because we are letting them know that making fun of black people/ culture is NOT OKAY AT ALL!.
Exactly. The fans are often more problematic than the idols. I'll always remember when EnHypen's fans posted the most racist comments and disgusting pictures of black people being l*nched after Heeseung's rumour of singing the n word.
@Chardonae Bullard same thing happened to me lol. It's not only the blaccent, it's the braids, her whole attitude that changes when she wants to be "edgy" and try to match the cringy lyrics. I completely gave up on Blackpink, anyway it's not like they release music or try to interact with their fans when they have nothing to sell/promote

You forgot that how RM once in BTS's debut era was trying to be shady towards other members by saying that they are so black that he cant even see them in dark in of their conferences
Also when he said "black accent is my talent". I'm not black but as an army I still feel really bad that BTS have done so many racist things but never apologize even for once.. they talk about Asian hate but disrespect other cultures.

@៸៸ 🧺 . 벨라 𖥻 도나 ⊹ ִֶָ𓏲࣪ TBH this joke "Black women talk like this and are loud and fierce and white women are dumb bimbos" was constantly used in comedy shows like The Family Guy for example, and i think it's kinda normalized so no wonder she didn't expect such backlash and that it will be seen as hurtful. Also i think many people defend idols not because of how much they love and admire their idol and don't want them to be cancelled.I think it's rather because they 1. lack understanding of this issues (so are uneducated or/and ignorant) and believe idols are being criticised "for nothing" (yeah i know it sounds astronomically dumb especially for black people in america, but you know) 2. or once LACKED understanding and know how it's like to be completely uneducated and "not really getting this" and kinda seeing their past selves in these idols. Believing they could change
Not talking about skin colour doesn’t mean you can make fun of accent other people have. Racism is not just about skin colour it’s mostly about stereotypes, prejudice and hattered connected with other person’s race people have in their mind.
Where is BTS RM with the whole "black accent is my talent" and that BTS song that has n-word in it? Are we just going to forget that because they are popular or something? Stop defending them they did it countless times.
Most of our favourite idols are racists sad but true Since starting they would thought that being fair is pretty and black is not pretty Almost every Asian country Have same phenomenon
@Day Day finally someone said it im sick of people saying every white person is racist when thats not the case but that black people are racist too (some not all)
@Day Day yeah thats true many american artists or rappers are really racist or like idk ignorant but also other like you said its about people not regions :)
@Day Day If you come to America Asians can eat in any restaurant they want.If someone discriminates against them, or is racist in any way they can press charges because we have hate crime laws in America. No one in America can refuse to rent them an apartment based on race. South Korea has restaurants and clubs that will not allow Black people to patronize. They have 0 hate crime laws to protect Black and Southeast Asian people(I just saw a video where Southeast Asian women were talking about how they were sexually assaulted in Korea and no one cared, and people constantly refuse to rent properties to Blacks and Southeast Asian people in Korea and it's perfectly legal for Koreans to act in this barbaric manner. They have huge racism problems and NO ONE in that country cares to even attempt to fix them.THAT is the difference between America and Asian Countries.

@@banaduck2445 I don't want to invalidate any body's feelings towards this kind of issues especially in kpop, but I feel like the word "racist" is thrown alot at the idols. Most kpop fans have this image painted about the idols like they are perfect beings who know everything and are flawless but in reality most of the times the things they do are not even meant to be harmful nor racist because for one they are not black and they don't always know when they have crossed the line. And when people get offended they apologize (most of them) and they don't repeat the mistake again. But then the word "racist" will always be thrown at them. And this honestly gets on my nerves as a black person.
@@rethabileseaja5516 yeah that is something i agree on, more fitting could be "unkowningly disrespectful" or "uneducated" but not ignorant or racist because they might have a different perception and dont see their actions as disrespctful so they are also not intentionally trying to hurt someone while someone racist does that wilfully and knowingly

Don’t use age as an excuse. Yeah he apologized but just because he apologized doesn’t mean people have to accept his apology, and only black people are allowed to accept it or not. All stays are the same omg 🤦♀️
it’s honestly disgusting how these situations are being ignored and that these idols are being supported AND being defended. for me, it is at least important to see what you did wrong, apologize and make sure not to do it again. i’m a stay and am honestly disappointed in han but still appreciate that he apologized and was aware of what he did to also not repeat such a mistake. but on the other hand wendy just kept on disrespecting black people EVEN THOUGH others informed her about it. them laughing at these racist jokes doesn’t make it better either..
To be honest, Han did say the n-word.. The Korean equivalent of the n-word is 'kamdoongi' which was in the lyrics but what the narrator here did was underline the word '니가' which means you and pointed it out as the n-word but the kamdoongi '깜둥이' was in the first underlined verse. Also out of everyone mentioned in the video his case is the only one that happened pre-debut and happened when he was too young and in my opinion his apology was the most decent out of everyone mentioned here.. I'd also like to add for the people who said he had no racist or offensive intentions I'm pretty sure he did because from what I know HipHop is a genre black people made when they were going through hard times, HipHop was a way for them to vent (Please correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not a black person) So I think he took that into account and thought that was what HipHop was about so I think he had no ill intentions towards anyone and didn't specifically direct it towards a group of people on purpose, even though what he did was wrong, he was young, he made a decent apology and never repeated this kind of mistake ever again and I'm pretty sure he learned his lesson a long time ago so he shouldn't have his life and career ruined over this (This is just my opinion) By the way, sorry for the long paragraph
exactly, he apologised and NEVER did it again. but people still bring it up as soon as skz gets any recognition in media like please. it is humanly impossible to do anything further in han’s situation, he cannot change what he did and he cannot release never ending apologies everytime people bring it up . black stans literally told them to crucify him like is that not more toxic of you to say as an adult who knows exactly what the word means more than the little kid that just followed what he saw in rap culture not knowing it affected people badly, all they can do now is either forgive him , move on and accept that he’s changed OR if not then you are completely free and valid to not forgive him if you were hurt , he’s not doing it anymore so just ignore skz and leave them .
As an african american, when i saw him rapping the nword, to me it seemed like he was mimicking what he saw in rap songs and i guess thought it wasn’t an issue to say the nword. But i say this about any individual that has a history for using the nword or doing/saying things offensive things towards black people. If they gave an honest apology, show they acknowledged wha they did was wrong and offensive, educate themselves and others along with not repeating what they did, then i’ll consider possibly forgiving them. But i keep an eye on them. I also take how far in the past such incidents have happened. So in han’s case, i will consider forgiving him, but i will also keep an eye on him as i’m not fully for forgiving him yet.

The one thing everyone needs to do, especially in kpop is to educate themselves on black people and our culture before using any aspect of our culture. BTS educated themselves early on, so there shouldn’t be an excuse nor a reason other kpop idols/groups to do the same before they continue in their careers.

Han didn’t go on any hiatus, he texted on Bubble the same week (which was not even 7 days since the scandal) and posted a video of him singing the line “I’m only human” a few DAYS later. I’m not gonna judge him just wanna put it here.
Why would he go on a hiatus for something he did back as a kid? I swear kpop fans leave no room for mistakes for idols. They want kpop idols to make no mistakes and have a squeaky clean past (which it’s impossible) everyone has make mistakes. As long as they learn their lessons and NEVER do it again, there’s no point for him going on a hiatus. If you accept his apology, continue supporting him. If not, leave him. Simple as that.
@@sqisward4738 I never said you can accept his apology if you’re not black. For Wendy, she knew exactly what she was doing so she’s in the wrong. However, Han was 13. He’s from a country where he doesn’t see many Americans or hear English much. But, him being into Hip Hop music in America and writing lyrics from things he has seen is a dangerous for him. All he did was write lyrics he thought was cool, and rhymed I guess. Of course he knew his words, some of them were bad. He was still young, though. Reminds me of something too. One time, I was writing lyrics to a beat and I used a word that was the name of a gun. My uncle told me not to use that word. I didn’t know what it meant, I just thought it rhymed nice but I reflected and changed the lyrics. Han hand wrote an apologized. That’s the difference.

None of them can be excused. Racism simply can not be excused. It's wrong and these people are adults, they should know better. I understand that Korea is quite a homogenous country with not many foreigners, but as public figures with fans all over the world, all idols should know better. Wendy's situation is extremely disappointing. Despite being so talented and having the privilege to grow up in multicultural nations like Canada and the US, she continued to mock different races. Impersonating dialects/accents of different regions is one thing, but proudly mocking a certain group of people/race is another. Her comment about black men being gangsters is just uneducated and disgusting.
People need to get it into their heads that they're grown and they have responsibility for their actions. Going on and on about how "they don't know any better", "that's just how it is in Korea" is extremely infantilizing and ironically, racist itself. Just tell your faves when they're in the wrong, it's for the best in the long run.
Yes, I agree with this. But trying to defend an idol who did something racist is not racist in itself. It’s only racist if you agree with what they did and you do it yourself.
Sometimes I dont really understand what people mean by they're racist. I had only learned about my own country history and never really learned about the western other country part. And even if there is, it is mostly like the country and what they're native is called. We never dive deeper than that. No one really ever talks about racism in media until the george floyd death which triggers the media. To be honest, I was about to get college when it kinda gets controversial. And i only learned about white and black people through movies and never have i ever talk with one. Through movies that i kinda understand that the n-word is bad. But through musics, i thought it just meant likr greetings and stuff Which got me confused most of the time. If u dont like other people saying n-word. Why do black people still say it towards others(black people?) For idols/artist doing impersonations. Of course, they would go for the most stereotypes one. Why? Cause it attracts the media more and it's easier to identify. Personally for me, there's nothing wrong with doing impersonations since it's kinda common? Like people can impersonate any comedians, actors, historical figures and even they're own friends from any nations. And most don't even meant to offend anyone And the DNA part is not really offensive? Sometimes we can just joke around about having another race/country that doesn't seem to have close relation with us. And wr just laugh it off Sometimes i seriously think that white and black people can't handle sarcasm from how the media portrays, people just seems to get offended easily😶😶 And i never watch the full clip and I'm only reffering to what i have seen. Note, english is not my first language so i hope, i dont offend anyone
@@dellera1793 It goes without saying that people can obviously impersonate a certain person that exists, whatever their race might be. We cannot impersonate a stereotype of a race though. That's harmful because impersonating a stereotype of a black person was an actual historic thing that happened and it contributed to their oppression. They were called minstrel shows. The DNA part was also quite racist, mainly because one of the girls thought that being African is so offensive and outlandish, but it was also childish and dumb. I wonder what their humour is like If they think this shit is funny. They should have known better.
I hate it when fans say how their idols didn’t mean it and that they meant no harm when they have no idea what was going through their minds in the first place.

@Grace Azuma i mean, won't other idols do the same thing? they'll also apologize for their wrong doing. y'all are so confusing. y'all asked for an apology and then continue to say that they only did it for their reputation. just tell us whatever they did won't satisfy you
@Grace Azuma neither, if you read the lyrics you'll notice it says 니가 , that translate as "you're", which sounds just like the N word. This is a common misundersting, there are a lot a languages out there other than english with words that may sound like ones in your language but with a completly different meaning.
What Wendy did was not ok, but one of the worst parts was that it wasn’t really addressed properly and there wasn’t an apology. I still love her, but I sucks that she didn’t apologize.

What Wendy did was insensitive, but was NOT racist. She was a young ignorant idol, being egged on by much more senior people in the industry. By all means call out her insensitivity, but don’t band around nonsensical terms like racism. Stereotypes are not racist! The N word is racist, yet black people keep saying it, then complain over its continued use, double standards!
Разве кто-то удивлён? Многие корейцы расисты. Вспомните даже участниц Blackswan, которые пренебрежительно относились к Fatu из-за её цвета кожи. Уже стандарт красоты выраженный в бледной коже многое говорит о корейцах.
Note: just because you accept an idols apology does not mean somebody else has to Some idols say it was a mistake but no body really knows if it was or not. Black people live in a constant state of unease because artists cannot be uneducated so if the n word is there line that is their line. Respect peoples boundaries because my boundaries in real life are the same with most artists. I won’t lose my morals over kpop.
ua-cam.com/video/el84efC10oE/v-deo.html ok you dumber what do you think about this? "so many black audience enjoy asian accent" are black people racist too? or only black people have indulgences about racism joke?
What good would it do to criticize? It's much easier to educate Kpop is an industry almost entirely of a culture that does not belong to any Asian country, they use it but it is not for appreciation, and yes, to profit they already demonstrate it when we see practically no idolnegro and darker skin tone is ugly or is a defect. And there are the ones who apologize who are basically "I made a mistake, I know, and I changed," but you know you only regret it when you get caught. Groups that committed colorism or racism: Jackson wore an afro in a Pepsi commercial and refused to apologize on the grounds that "I'm not the only one." Twice: Jihyo dressed up as an African-American Indian at a concert, and confirmed this by performing as "Indian Jihyo." Jihyo herself said in a live for Jeongyeon not to get too brunette implying that it was a bad thing, Tzuyu and Chaeyoung said they were brunette, Jeongyeon asked "Why is your skin so dark?", she backed off after Nayeon said she always was. Bigbang: G-dragon has already said the n-word, Everyone has already committed Blackface. EXO: Chanyeol and Baekhyun have already made fun of Kai and Tao's skin tone a few times. In a live if I'm not mistaken, Baekhyun painted Chen's lips with lipstick and said he looked like a character from a movie that depicted slavery Anyway stopping here, but making it clear that there are many cases with others that you will find if you look, let it be clear that this is not an attack or Not at all It's just a few examples of what things are like in the industry.
Wheres BTS and EXO? Are we gonna forget about these racist cuz they’re a big group ?? Or… i like you video and I respect you trying to spread awareness within the racist kpop industry however, I do not understand why you missed these groups. Especially BTS. Now if he has educated himself and are educating others, that will be a plus. So in conclusion, i will consider forgiving him, but will still keep an eye on him. I can’t say other black people will do the same. But i do take into account when people do and say offensive things toward my people: 1. Whether their apology was sincere or not. 2. If they show they really understand what they did was wrong and offensive. 3. If they show they really learned from their acts by not repeating them. 4. How far into the past such acts were committed and how often it was done. 5. Educating themselves and others on what they did was wrong. And educating themselves and others on the people and the culture of the people the did such acts towards.
i feel like the reaction after han's apology was uncalled for i've known countless people were just uneducated and still managed to change learn and grow. he was 13 and though that doesn't makes it right as a black person i can forgive educate and possibly forget.
please leave jisung alone... he apologized and he mentioned that he was too young (13 yeard old) so he didn't know about this he just tried to wrote lyrics like other artists but he didn't know that white people shouldn't do it. HE DIDN'T DO IT AS AN RACIST ACTION
So? Still hold him accountable for his actions. If i go hit somebody with a car and apologize its not gonna do anything, so idk why yall think an “apology” will fix anything.🤦🏽♀️
Here's my take: I grew up in white conservative America, where doing and saying racist things was normal. It's similar in South Korea. Luckily enough, I live in country where white people have learned that racism is prevalent and not okay, in turn I have learned to be a better person. However, racism in South Korea is a nation-wide problem, and the people in the country calling out racist behaviors is still quite small. Kpop idols aren't racist, they're just ignorant. (there's an exception to kpop idols who have lived in other countries, those idols need to be held accountable) This absolutely does not diminish the harm that these racist acts have done, but I am merely explaining that your favorite idol is not a bad person, they just don't know better. And we can't fault them for that. I admire kpop idols who have learned from their mistakes and have grown to be better people, because I did the same thing.
I'm a Ghanaian and the fact that XUM is making fan of my country is very bad. Many African countries are looked down upon, but we Africans contribute a lot to how the world is now as our natural resources has helped some big nations now. No African speak trash of other nations like other nations do to us. NB: not all Africans are poor and helpless
Some of these sound more like straight up ignorance rather than being full blown racist. Also regarding some netizens criticizing Jimin for not having basic knowledge of other cultures- I don't think most people know what's considered a racist term in another country, let alone one of a completely different language. There's like 200 countries in existence how can you expect people to be aware of every racist term lol.

I think most people aren't racist at all. They just don't care about it. I mean, someone who copy the 'classic' homosexual poses isn't homophob at all. But I think that ignorance is the most dangerous thing when it comes to racism. Kinda surprised not seing Sorn in this video. But the Jimin thing annoyed me. The comment from the one user is like 'she's ugly, can't rap and is racist'. This isn't a comment against racism. It's pure hate and such people only looking for a reason to hate.

Why only a few cases included in this videos whereas bigger racism done by huge popular group been left out. If you want to list out, make sure dont choose group you hate
It’s the way u say it in a sentence like this n*gta not this you? Or this h*e ass n*gag not this h*o ass you? Lol I’m black an lived in Korea im Definitely not dumb the n word means you in Korean but tbh alot of Koreans hear it in rap videos and think it’s a cool word there’s just a lack of education

I think people are sometimes oversensitive. Now a Black person will come and say, " If you are not then you have no right to say anything" Like shut up🙄 There more then 200 countries with various cultures why the f you think you are the special one and people all over the world should know your culture?! then you will say ," kpop industry is inspired by Black cultural so grown up idol should know abt the culture" then you are watching kpop/ cdrama , how much you know about Asia? and being grown up doesn't mean you will know everything about all the cultures. Big Black celebrities have 0 responsibility towards their audience, We Asian grow up watching American music , yet never ever saw anyone say N -word is a bad thing( ask any grown up asian , 90% would say they know nothing about this) , for us it's something people say because it's cool( as they make it super cool)American movie industry always been racist towards Black actors and present them as funny /or only black people as gangsters characters, what you expect from Asian where 99% people never saw a black person in real life? yes , Asia has colorism problems but hating and threatening idols for what they mistakenly said/ did 5-7 years ago is not okey . @@theslytherinhouseofficial You are assuming. If we are being honest, everyone of us is probably 'racist' at some point, we tend to be more comfortable around our own group, don't we? I heard stories, so I guess many Koreans would not be actually impressed with the mere look of people who are like me, but I don't care enough to create a video complaining about it. I know my worth, what they think don't matter. Look, I don't know anything about your experiences, I'm sorry if they are bad, I just can't stand virtue-signalling folks. People do nasty things, it's not like we're better and perfectly considerate at all times. Others' opinions don't define you, yours do. So, let's move on and stay happy.
An apology alone isn’t enough. They need to also educate themselves and others and prove they understand what they did was wrong and offensive. And to not repeat what they did ever again. The problem with just giving an apology and moving on like nothing happened is that it says to people, “i said i was sorry, so get over it.” So when people get upset over just an apology, it makes sense. I personally hear the apology out and then determine whether i accept it or not based on their actions and whether or not they have shown they really understood what they did wrong afterwards. Like in wendy’s case, i do not accept her apology because she was sincere enough and repeated her behavior after it was called out. In hans case, i would consider accepting because he has shown he has learned what he did was wrong.

How come you showed the clip of Wendy impersonating black girls but not white girls? 🤨 they’re really trying to paint her as a racist, especially focusing on the black girl thing, I don’t even Stan but she’s not even racist, she was copying certain accents. So what’s the big deal.
@I'm sooo bored Jaehyun true but stereotypes are for a reason, cuz sometimes they’re true, they don’t apply to everyone though. I mean I see how it could be offensive to copy an Asian accent, a black persons accent but people copy British people all the time, copy Australians, it’s like double standards. If we will criticize for those other things, we should criticize all of it then.
Due to the less immigration rate to Asian countries, there is no wide mixture of culture in most Asian countries. The age old stereotypes exists even in present day Asian countries. This has become a widely believed stereotype among Asians and they unknowingly assume it's usual and not much of a big deal. People are not well acknowledge about the racial offences. You can't always blame these idols because believing in stereotypes is common. If they do it being aware of it, then it's definitely wrong. In han's case he was only 13 and definitely going through that carefree teenage phase of his life, it's wrong for us to blame him. The lyrics might seem wrong but these are also considered cool in many western music fields, I don't see them being accused. Han was simply following that cool vibe teenagers do while writing that song. And the misunderstanding the n word with the Korean word is seemingly not right. Just because it's not a proper word towards the black community, a language can't be changed. And the word doesn't mean that and isn't directed to any disrespect to the community. The word just sounds similar but are completely different. So, misinterpreting this word is utterly stupid.
But why do you think so many Kpop idols are ignorant about racism like that? 😕
We can't always use the excuse saying they are not educated since they see other idols get hate when they say something racist yet the tell an apology
Because they are ignorant. They don't want people to know that they've done something wrong like that. Even though all fans know about it.
I don't know but I'm tired of people defending them
Most Asian countries are homogeneous and their exposure to people of other races comes through Western movies and tv, which itself can be problematic. Japan doesn’t even allow immigration. Having access to the internet doesn’t really solve this as there is so much racism on the internet. Since Kpop is becoming so international, the best thing would be for the companies themselves to do training on this topic.

You also have no right t accept any apology given either if you are not black. Especially because alot of african american culture influences and inspires styles, dancing and music in kpop. The one thing everyone needs to do, especially in kpop is to educate themselves on black people and our culture before using any aspect of our culture. As an African Wendy's and Han's were the most disgusting to me especially Wendy she literally had no sign of remorse never absolutely disgusting .

The worst part is only like 2 of them had the decency to apologize 💀
People need to get it into their heads that they're grown and they have responsibility for their actions. Going on and on about how "they don't know any better", "that's just how it is in Korea" is extremely infantilizing and ironically, racist itself. Just tell your faves when they're in the wrong, it's for the best in the long run.
Yes, I agree with this. But trying to defend an idol who did something racist is not racist in itself. It’s only racist if you agree with what they did and you do it yourself.
@@PlanetTokki No. Infantilizing them and just assuming they have antiquated opinions because of their ethnicity and upbringing is literally racist.
But through musics, i thought it just meant likr greetings and stuff
Which got me confused most of the time. If u dont like other people saying n-word. Why do black people still say it towards others(black people?)
For idols/artist doing impersonations. And most don't even meant to offend anyone
And the DNA part is not really offensive? Sometimes we can just joke around about having another race/country that doesn't seem to have close relation with us. And wr just laugh it off
Sometimes i seriously think that white and black people can't handle sarcasm from how the media portrays, people just seems to get offended easily😶😶
And i never watch the full clip and I'm only reffering to what i have seen.

The DNA part was also quite racist, mainly because one of the girls thought that being African is so offensive and outlandish, but it was also childish and dumb. I wonder what their humour is like If they think this shit is funny. They should have known better.

Kpop is an industry almost entirely of a culture that does not belong to any Asian country, they use it but it is not for appreciation, and yes, to profit they already demonstrate it when we see practically no idolnegro and darker skin tone is ugly or is a defect.
And there are the ones who apologize who are basically "I made a mistake, I know, and I changed," but you know you only regret it when you get caught.
Groups that committed colorism or racism:
Jackson wore an afro in a Pepsi commercial and refused to apologize on the grounds that "I'm not the only one."
Twice: Jihyo dressed up as an African-American Indian at a concert, and confirmed this by performing as "Indian Jihyo." Jihyo herself said in a live for Jeongyeon not to get too brunette implying that it was a bad thing, Tzuyu and Chaeyoung said they were brunette, Jeongyeon asked "Why is your skin so dark?", she backed off after Nayeon said she always was.
Bigbang: G-dragon has already said the n-word, Everyone has already committed Blackface.
EXO: Chanyeol and Baekhyun have already made fun of Kai and Tao's skin tone a few times. In a live if I'm not mistaken, Baekhyun painted Chen's lips with lipstick and said he looked like a character from a movie that depicted slavery
Anyway stopping here, but making it clear that there are many cases with others that you will find if you look, let it be clear that this is not an attack or Not at all It's just a few examples of what things are like in the industry.
Racism is a bad thing we know.I think everyone makes mistakes and I am glad that they reflected and apologized.
Most of these idols probably don't reflect and the apologies are usually to regain their reputation
Most of these aren't mistakes but choice like the black fishing it was a bad choice they made I wouldn't say a mistake

I said awful things too, but I've learned from them and never done them again. Tbh if people judge who I am today for things I've done MANY years ago I will be upset. What do you want him to do more ? It's up to people who the awful lyrics is about to decide if they forgetting him or not, not you or me
As an african american, here is my response:
1. When i heard him rap the nword, to me it seemed like he was mimicking what he heard/seen in rap music. So he must’ve thought it wasn’t a problem since it’s in rap music.
2. He apologized, seemed sincere about it.
3. He was 13yo when he did it.
4. He seems to have not repeated what he did.
Now if he has educated himself and are educating others, that will be a plus.
So in conclusion, i will consider forgiving him, but will still keep an eye on him. I can’t say other black people will do the same.
But i do take into account when people do and say offensive things toward my people:

And we can't fault them for that. I admire kpop idols who have learned from their mistakes and have grown to be better people, because I did the same thing.

There's like 200 countries in existence how can you expect people to be aware of every racist term lol.
Doesn’t matter if they don’t know still did it and it’s offensive
I don't understand how some of this called racist. I'm Asian. Even though I watch many English content I still don't get it. I know th n- word is an insult because someone has explained it. Still I don't get many of it.
Except for Wendy

Who the hell to they think they are?
Madonna? Michael Jackson?
Some even disband within a year!
Having plastic surgery didn't help them much?
And then in all their profiles is mentioned: Went to university..this or that?
Ow REALLY?
Seems they didn't learn much.
Nobody says you have to like everybody...but that must be concerning someone's behaviour or character...
Not someone's color!!
I'm not surprised some are not popular or famous.
Besides it's so stupid,
do they really think that fans would come to their concerts when they start touring?
Behaving like THIS?
Not in MY country, we even have a law against racism.

LMAOOO EXACTLY
I think most people aren't racist at all. They just don't care about it. I mean, someone who copy the 'classic' homosexual poses isn't homophob at all. But I think that ignorance is the most dangerous thing when it comes to racism.
Kinda surprised not seing Sorn in this video.
But the Jimin thing annoyed me. The comment from the one user is like 'she's ugly, can't rap and is racist'. This isn't a comment against racism. It's pure hate and such people only looking for a reason to hate.

What we're not going to do is tell the black community that they're being sensitive over these things. They have every right to feel offended. They also have the right to not accept apologies. Instead hold these idols accountable and don't defend their racists actions, it's that simple. Nb ppl have no right to say that they are being overdramatic or sensitive. I'm a poc (nb), so I hope I'm not overstepping any boundaries by saying this, but if I am pls let me know!!
Also, this is towards the ppl in this comment section that are being ignorant and also towards ppl who act ignorant anytime an idol is called out for their actions^^^
Preach sis/bro
I was really upset ab the comments response to all the horrible things these idols did but this made me feel a lot better thank you so much
I see nothing racist in mimicking an accent and mannerism. Those are stereotypes that is often true. It's racist there's mocking though.
Han is innocent he also apologized but it's wrong what they are doing I'm a black person so I don't like their actions
This is so embarrassing and disappointing as a korean :( however there’s a slight misunderstanding. the Han’s N slur, I don’t think he wrote 깜둥이 as black ppl it’s more like dark skinned asian
I may be a kpop fan but as a black woman i'll put my black community first; culture and morals before music, ALWAYS
I’ve had a small experience of what Han did, I did not say the n-word. But I was accidentally overusing aave. I did not know because no one was there to educate me, but now I know and learned from it, I don’t like what he did. But I forgive him
What is aave ?
Why only a few cases included in this videos whereas bigger racism done by huge popular group been left out. If you want to list out, make sure dont choose group you hate
I never knew Wendy did this.. wow.. I never hear anything about her so that's new to me lol
Im tired of these Asian people being racist 🙄 listen to your own music! Sing your own music! Rep your own culture! No more excuses
We have great cultures what culture Blacks have gangs? Stealing? Baby mommas? No father? 😂😂😂😂
The “n-word” is not that word in Korean it means “you”
It’s the way u say it in a sentence like this n*gta not this you? Or this h*e ass n*gag not this h*o ass you? Lol I’m black an lived in Korea im
Definitely not dumb the n word means you in Korean but tbh alot of Koreans hear it in rap videos and think it’s a cool word there’s just a lack of education
Watch the vid
I don't think that applies to any of these scenarios specifically, but yes, "naega" does sound pretty bad to those who don't know it's Korean 😬
@@oompalooompa2650 I did
coz sometimes naega "내가" could be also spelled as "니가" and pronounced as the same way as the n-word.
Han's case should be excused. Don't pretend that you've never said or done anything racist in your lifetime especially when you're 13. I'm from Malaysia and I find it relatable and ok, but not written anywhere. He hasn't done anything racists that we found or know of for the past 8 years which probably means he have changed for the better. Hope yall can understand my defence for him.
Edit: sorry. Its not OK but when I say it's OK when it's a kid especially 13 and under bcuz they're probably idiots and they didn't get educated for that time being. That's what I meant, not normalising racism.
are you black ?
no, if we don’t want to excuse it, as a black person, we wont
@Kenny ikr
Girl u not even black, so u not even in the victims place to defend anything, delete this cuz its blatantly insensitive and racist🥱🥱
Nah I never say anything racist when I was young. Don’t assume everyone is the same as you. Defend him all you want but don’t speak for other people
6:11 니가 sounding similar to the n word was not what he was called out for nor was it what the majority of fans were upset over
quit trying to downplay our outrage and make it look like people were overreacting
The 니가 Is Translated As (You're) And Not The N Word If Im Not Mistaken.
the first three are not racist what even 💀💀 people are so easily offended omlll wendy literally impersonated white women and black women, and they were both stereotypes? obviously white women don’t sound like that and obviously black women don’t sound like that? and with xum, it wasn’t a laugh of mockery with the vietnam one, and with the ghana in her blood , she was laughing because how could that be possible when she’s pale white? and when the othe girl said it’s bc she’s loud, that makes sense? koreans aren’t known for being loud (which is a stereotype) where as africans are (which is also a stereotype)? also w the mama moo one, i don’t think some people realise that black face doesn’t have any meaning other than the US? there is no history behind it overseas and isn’t a common topic? make it make sense and pls stop being so fucking offended.
Teach them if they don't learn avoid them , leave them.
Yeah, same goes for those people getting offended at idols for "mocking" mushlimb culture, like no one in Korea knows how pissfull the religion actually is. 😇

Keep dragging the same old problems for years is not cute. Move on, love yourself. People today just seek for reasons to be offended on daily basis, go touch some grass.
Try being blacc and then you'll know how it feels. It's okay for non-coloured people who have never experienced being cast out by those they admire most.
@@angelav2091 That was a very good way to answer and I thank you for that! You're actually very right, have a good day!

But its stereotyping and then it becomes racist imagine being something ur not
@I'm sooo bored Jaehyun true but stereotypes are for a reason, cuz sometimes they’re true, they don’t apply to everyone though. I mean I see how it could be offensive to copy an Asian accent, a black persons accent but people copy British people all the time, copy Australians, it’s like double standards. If we will criticize for those other things, we should criticize all of it then.
@@Jankb0t3k0 who said we didn’t criticise those other countries my aussie friends hate being stereotyped like its an actual bad thing-
Due to the less immigration rate to Asian countries, there is no wide mixture of culture in most Asian countries.
