Hey so I know this vid is very old but I play tuba and was just wondering does it hurt to march one of those tubas because I’ve only marched susaphones
My son is a fellow tuba player at South Point. He is looking at a Mack Brass C tuba. We had heard you had experience with them, any advice or recommendations?
Oh my goodness, hello! It depends on how committed he is to continue playing, as well as the factor of him liking how the horn plays. I recommend going something like the Tuba Exchange in Raliegh to actually try out different horns. I think it's an okay horn, however, I am quickly finding out that it is definitely not the most professional-grade horn that can be played with. Of course I am not saying some of the issues are not me, I am nowhere near a perfect player, I am simply implying that there are limitations to the horn that would potentially hinder certain aspects of professional development. If he is just looking for a C horn to play on, I say go for it! My Mack C has definitely served me well through high school and early college years.
I really appreciate it! I’m fortunate that I got to march my age out with a great group of friends and staff. Even though the season was cancelled I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
Dci: the only type of marching arts where someone can make a ligma joke out loud
I knew I needed to watch this after 2 seconds. I was not disappointed with the banter.

Did you hear Steve Jobs died of ligma?
Who's Steve Jobs?

I've played one of your guys' tubas from this year. I was going to camps for Buccaneers 2020 and we used your horns, until covid hit.

What mouthpieces did y’all use?
For Their Tomorrow PT50s, the only difference is the engraving on the outside. Same specs though
