It's worth $3600 to you since you race hare scrambles. Beats rebuilding a KTM motor every season.

    Hi,
Higher voltage for Electric motorcycle is always the key from my understanding and knowledge, cause higher RPM motor, consume less amps in heat dissipation, for battery motor and controller gives you range and gives you also more speed in sport mode. If you don’t need this extra speed, getting a bigger is sprocket again will give you more torque also this the win-win solution for you and can reduce your battery amps and phase consummation at the same time without feeling a loss in power in sport mode.
    Ultra bee battery pack: 74 Volt x 55 Ah= 4070 Watts-hours + Samsung 50S 6S 12 P = 21.6 Volt nominal x 60 Ah 1296 Wh addon pack = 5366 Wh total.
With this solution you don’t have to spend allot of money for a new battery. 72 Volt x 73 Ah = 5256 Wh only and at the end of the discharge cycle is only 60 Volt left in the battery at 3 Volt per cell so no more bigger power output at this point.
This addon solution battery pack can probably be fit under the seat where the storage area is currently with this addon pack connected in series you probably get the range you looking for and may be more.

Why anyone would buy the EBMX battery for 5k is beyond me when it’s the same as the Ewatt .
Great video I’ll be getting one from Ewatt for sure .

im currently making a diy 30ah secondary carbon fiber battery for the ultra bee under the seat, itll still use the old battery having a total 85 ah 74v battery! ill let you know if it works and ill send you more info if you are intrested. i should have it completed in 3/4 weeks just waiting for parts to arrive :) its costing under £1000 so far but takes a lot of time to make and some electrical knowledge

At least one aftermarket battery supplier is making this extender and it'll be out on the market sometime next year. It's 72V, 16Ah additional. Could work with electriciabetter's battery too.

@@Tazdeviloo7 it'll be interesting to see! yeah I had to remove a lot of the old plastics mudflap/storage so I can fit the new 30ah battery. it'll be all in one unit so its a carbon fibre mud guard and carbon battery that installs to the bottom of the aluminium tail frame and bolts to the passenger foot pegs and the passenger hang rails. you can still install the foot pegs & rails over the carbon.

I need to upgrade my LB and UB right now...and man, is it painful. I can buy another whole new gas bike for the price of two upgraded batteries (and controller/motor on LB). The game we ebikers play

Better off keeping the 74v, and just buying a battery extender, a little pack would’ve been much better.

True, i have a job and i was waiting long time to finally bought a surron, the battery upgrade is a nice thing and i hope for more AH and then i will switch to the battery upgrade. I think this will take 2 years or my Battery broke. The next Level Battery Thing is Na-Ion (bigger, heavier an less Power :( - is that next level?)

So is gasoline and engine rebuilds. *shrug.
What's it cost to do a bottom end on a KTM? motosport wants $900 for a crank/conrod, $900 for a new piston/cylinder, and you can bet there would be more in lifter shims maybe valve seats/valves, all sorts of gaskets, and whatever is foind to be worn in bearings and shift forks etc. + labor. And that's probably around 300 hours for a pretty average rider. So that's 2 grand in gas and oil, and 3 grand in motor over 300 hours... Batteries that do 1000 cycles at 40 miles per don't seem that expensive.

  • @HammerCreek

Running an even bigger sprocket will get you more range at what ends up being a negligible hit to top speed for the power and purposes you have. The larger sprocket puts less load on the bike, try 64T.

Great video:-) I'm looking to do an offroad event, 2 hours is required, my Ultra Bee is all stock, apart from 21/18 wheels. The EBMX guys in Aus are only interested in full battery/X9000 controller bundles. I'd prefer to hold off for the Torp 1000, and just use a battery like yours (Not found any dealers for E Watt in Aus yet...) Question: Can't you swap back to the Stock battery, as a 'top up' for an event? Or, Does the bigger battery lid compartment for the larger battery not align with the stock unit? Keep up the vids and info, and enjoy your riding 🙂

@electricisbetter I did wonder about that with the alternative battery lid. Are you looking at controller options? Eg: I do like the idea of the Torp 1000, it retains the oem features of the TC, regen, eco/daily/sport switch. Thanks for the reply mate👍

On stock battery/controller on my tight Woods track, I can only get about 18 miles. My idea is the 80.3 V battery, I’m guessing I will get 50% further in range. Are you using the stock controller?
