I was just thinking that too. But I think the fact that it’s not on Netflix and isn’t crazy high budget is what makes it special. I feel like if they had a $500,000 budget per episode it wouldn’t be the same
I thought the same thing. Then I thought they probably enjoy the creative freedom and ability to do things their way with no strings attached. The only downside is I don’t think enough people see and appreciate their content and maybe a massive corporation like Netflix or HBO could give them that exposure. It just may not be worth compromising who they are as a team.
Andy being in this episode is like when the Harlem Globetrotters used to show up on Scooby Doo. The show was already superb. But the Globetrotters just made that shit memorable.
Trying to mind the hyperbole, but hard to imagine a better three to play with than Neil, Big Guy and Andy. Andy just always has the perfect thing to say no matter the circumstance. Inspiring stuff
I've been a fan of Andy Johnson for quite some time now, and just watching this episode makes me feel like I gained a bunch of Golf IQ points. Can't wait to be the douche in my foursome explaining Lion's Mouth Green strategies. GREAT CONTENT as always, guys. Keep it up.
Buddy trip p0rn. One of your best yet re: vibe. The Pie-Man's editing is off the charts. Please do more with AJ in the future ... maybe a yearly mini-series covering an architecture nerd's buddies trip ... I love the Fried Egg but AJ pops when he has people around him / a captive audience. Criminally good content. The Nest Membership is well worth the $.
Love the conspicuous divot replacement by Soly. These courses are legit better than the $275 tracks here in California. Andy is a great guy. Met him at one of his events.
Live here, its only 8 months you get to play but its some of the best public affordable golf in the world. Little upset they didn't make it to Arcadia Bluffs being the #10 public course by golf digest, I think #14 now. But doesn't matter because its the best golf channel on youtube.
Egg’s golf swing in Venn diagram comparison with Randy’s would just be two separate circles. Love the content boys, would absolutely love to see a Strapped: Southwest Michigan covering Kalamazoo, GR, and the smaller coastal towns around here
The production quality of this was second to none, thanks so much for a really great watch. Seeing Andy join you for an ep was an absolute treat. Keep it up!
This one hit home for me. Literally. Great to see the boys playing at my home course (The Mines) and drinking beers at the brewery across the street from my office. Hope you all enjoyed our unique little corner of the world!
DJ, we appreciate the lines you’re willing to take on not only your full shots, but your putts as well. Television product. Love what you do for people.
Guys I drove over FIVE HOURS one-way to play Diamond Springs this summer just because of the article Andy wrote on the Fried Egg, and I can't fricking English how cool it is to see the NLU boys drooling over it now. Man, I just wish I would've gotten to play it with y'all! Maybe some other time.
I lived in Michigan for years, and always defaulted to Gaylord or Traverse City for the annual golf trip. After watching this, next up is GR without a doubt!
Andy and Randy should have a show on the golf channel where they go around fixing public golf courses! “Have you considered single mow?” “What about a center line pond?” Could single handedly save public golf in America
High praise from Melbourne Australia, my brother just watched this episode having never seen anything from you guys before, His comment was F==k I've got some back catalogue to get through!
from GR and former Kent County Amateur champ in the 70's and you have given me a reason to go back. Love your podcast. Look forward to it every week. Like sitting with buddies in the grill room at Cascade Hills where I grew up and shooting the shit about golf. Keep it up.
Another great part of the adventure. Watch this on the big screen. I watch most stuff on UA-cam on my iPad. NLU totally deserves a bigger screen. Production is excellent, thanks NLU
Only problem is they are really pushy and pair you with random people to get more money idk about anyone else but if im sitting at the dinner table with 4 chairs and my family fills 3 chairs and the resturaunt just adds some random person to my table to make use of all the chairs.... no thank you it is a great course to play but golf is a relaxing sport for me golf isnt ment to be a sport played in 20min
im headed to grand rapids for a buddys trip next week. does anyone know a service with a bus like in this video that i could buy to bring us to the courses like this around that area?
For the NLU boys: - Pilgrim's Run or Rustic Canyon? - Pilgrim's Run or Pine Barrens (World Woods)? - Pilgrim's Run or Pinehurst #4? - Pilgrim's Run or Arcadia Bluffs? Love this game
Nice feature on these three great tracks to play if you're in the G.R. or Chicago Hamptons (South Haven/Grand Haven) areas. Being from the state, there are a number of golf courses like this one can play in and around their local areas, which is why iGrand Rapids is not a golfing destination. However, if you're in the area for business and or leisure travel, they're fun, affordable layouts to play. Being the Doak fans you are, you guys really should have hit Stoatin Brae (Doak/Renaissance) on your way to G.R., as that course is a destination play and is part of the larger, "under-the-radar", six-course, Gull Lake View Golf Resort. That course would have shone better on video than these, IMO. This was the "filler" episode to the heavy hitter courses still to come, but an enjoyable one nevertheless. Chapeau!
Just stumbled on this channel while looking at some MI golf course content. Damn, this is how I want every golf trip to be with my buds. Good times, good beers, lots of F bombs and pure quality time with my boys. Cheers.
Truly enjoying the flying F bombers this season. As if you guys needed any help being more relatable! Born and raised in Oregon. Saw your channel during the Covid. Never stopped. Appreciate you fellas! Cheers
the footage didn't really do any of these tracks justice imo. there's a lot more elevation change on these courses than was picked up. 15 through 18 at Diamond Springs might be the best stretch of golf in America in that price range
You make by far the nicest Golf movies on UA-cam. This is soooo nice! I love the shots and the style of your videos :) Thanks for this great piece of entertainment!
Randy bringing up the megabonus in front of Neil was A+ gamesmanship. Also nice call to Strapped just a few minutes after the C-Suite was rattling off all the super expensive courses they've played.
Absolutely love Pilgrims Run. Shot 87 there once for a veteran golf tournament. The course is such a tough test and hidden gem. Glad you guys played it!
You are such an inspiration. You're my favourite channel on youtube and one day I hope my production of my golf content will be as good and professional as yours.
Great episode guys, production levels have gone through the roof. Only feedback I'd give is for me the match format detracts from my favourite thing about Tourist Sauce, which is the whole group playing together.
The silhoutte of the center fairway trees on 11th at Diamond Springs should be the logo for the course merch...I'll only charge them with a putter cover for the idea
It's about time Netflix or HBO threw y'all some F You money. Your production value has gotten so incredibly good. Thank you, and bravo.
I was just thinking that too. But I think the fact that it’s not on Netflix and isn’t crazy high budget is what makes it special. I feel like if they had a $500,000 budget per episode it wouldn’t be the same
Agreed. DJ is a really talented dude.
I thought the same thing. Then I thought they probably enjoy the creative freedom and ability to do things their way with no strings attached. The only downside is I don’t think enough people see and appreciate their content and maybe a massive corporation like Netflix or HBO could give them that exposure. The most UNDERRATED channel on all of UA-cam....The way its produced, edited and filmed is second to none...Absolutely enjoyable.
Andy being in this episode is like when the Harlem Globetrotters used to show up on Scooby Doo. The show was already superb. But the Globetrotters just made that shit memorable.
Randy trying to hex Neil at the turn was all-time gamesmanship.
Love how offended Cody was at the thought of having to tell Randy the wrong time to make sure he turned up on time!
“No.”
Best line of the episode.
Bc if you’re late in the military. See ya
Watching Big Randy get frustrated with his game when he clearly never practices and rarely plays truly never gets old. Big Randy is all of us.
Trying to mind the hyperbole, but hard to imagine a better three to play with than Neil, Big Guy and Andy. Andy just always has the perfect thing to say no matter the circumstance. Inspiring stuff
TC's drive on 18 was so good he somehow combined the Crouch Chop and the "Marv getting electrocuted" into one move
We have a winner. Email proshop@nolayingup.com to claim your rangefinder!
Randy's "F*ck you" after that putt was the hardest I've laughed in a while. Have never related to anything more in my life.
“Its still real to me damnit”
I wanted Randy to do the Tommy Fleetwood flip the bird at his golf ball
For as much as he rips on Nike scriptings, Tron’s shirt sure looks like he’s trying to give Nike some inspo for their 2022 Masters scripting.
If Randy got any less height on his driver, he'd be racing for AlphaTauri
I've been a fan of Andy Johnson for quite some time now, and just watching this episode makes me feel like I gained a bunch of Golf IQ points. Can't wait to be the douche in my foursome explaining Lion's Mouth Green strategies. GREAT CONTENT as always, guys. Keep it up.
Andy giving Neil the benefit of the doubt and asking if he caught a flyer was very classy.
Another missed opportunity to call him cagey
Buddy trip p0rn.

Yo Chippy. Are you a SoCal or NorCal golfer? Just curious.
@@gremlingolfer Usually SoCal but play in the north too

I’m convinced that for the money, west Michigan has the best courses in the country. Not many places you can play $40-$70 courses like these!
The production quality of this was second to none, thanks so much for a really great watch. Seeing Andy join you for an ep was an absolute treat. Keep it up!
you guys nearly getting shelled from an adjacent fairway at 40:27 was a nice late episode twist
I scrolled trough the comments hoping no one else saw it, so I could comment something new 🤣
Very Pine Valley-esque
This one hit home for me. Literally. Great to see the boys playing at my home course (The Mines) and drinking beers at the brewery across the street from my office. Hope you all enjoyed our unique little corner of the world!
All this jumping around showing random golf shots with no context is quite confusing.
Thank you I thought the same thing.
DJ, we appreciate the lines you’re willing to take on not only your full shots, but your putts as well. Television product. Love what you do for people.
These guys seriously have the best relationships off and on the golf course. Everyone deserves a group of golf buddies like them
Tron's shirt looks like a failed flag design for an Eastern European country. Bless his heart.
Ha! Great comment.
Soly injures wrist and changes swing to prevent injury.
Also Soly, auditioning for early settler grass pelt trader.
Soly’s divot at 8:14 should have it’s own zip code
Anyone know what bag Andy is using at 5:35 ?
Saw Soly replace that mammoth divot and my first thought was "damn, I wonder if Big Randy would miss a putt inside that thing."
Love when I see you guys come together. Great to see Andy with you guys on the DeVries courses we hear about on the Fried Egg
You guys need a series on Netflix. The production quality is that high!!! Love it.
Tough for Big to play the wind when his ball is starting at a significantly lower altitude than he's experiencing at head level.
so happy that i am the first one to say BRENDANNNNNNNN!!!!!
The NLU crew are fantastic….. but yes Andy just adds another level! Both the podcasts are top notch too…. Good stuff
If big Randy isn't on time for the Old Course at St,Andrews, Michigan doesn't stand a chance.
Between NLU and RGC - you guys would make a banger series.
DeVries dropping the "growing up at Crystal Downs" line was a real C-Suite uppercut to the Strapped lifestyle he was putting down
*Working
@@NoLayingUp mea culpa

Flyover shows a deep bunker. Andy: “That’s a reverse Randy. A modern template. It’s a lot of risk to take on.”
For a second or two, I thought Soly's chunky-ass divot (8.05) would sail over the cart à la Free Willy. Shame.
from GR and former Kent County Amateur champ in the 70's and you have given me a reason to go back. Love your podcast. Look forward to it every week. Like sitting with buddies in the grill room at Cascade Hills where I grew up and shooting the shit about golf. Keep it up.
Pilgrims Run is such a hidden gem 🙌🏼🏌🏼♂️🤙🏼 love that course
Pilgrims run over tobacco road - that's so tron. Carolina golf is the best 👌 👍
Tron's celebration after his drive on 18 an homage to Pole Assasin's Monkey?
Andy carries his bag like the kid at high school golf tryouts who has never played before
Randy wandering around Grand Rapids: There's not even a Rapid in here, much less a Grand one. Video reference: ua-cam.com/video/hbp07MvTnsc/v-deo.html
The most AGGRESSIVE suck it/hip thrust from Tron
Another great part of the adventure. Watch this on the big screen. I watch most stuff on UA-cam on my iPad. NLU totally deserves a bigger screen. Production is excellent, thanks NLU
Andy looks like Gilligan kicked the Skipper's ass, stole his clothes, but kept the bucket on.

Awesome to see Big Randy respecting the architect's intention by playing the ground game (through the bag, I might add).
I’ve had the same thought watching all three episodes - so glad the lefty Tron era is over.
14:57 Most pregnant pause of NLU history.
im headed to grand rapids for a buddys trip next week. does anyone know a service with a bus like in this video that i could buy to bring us to the courses like this around that area?
TC loses credibility putting PR over TR.
Andy looks like if Sergio Garcia and Tom Wambsgans had a son!
LOL! "How good is that?" from Randy on the fluffed chip was a highlight
"that's good!... oh... shit" after icarito soars the green
Icarito isn’t quite cagey yet, more Nicolas Cagey
“I know that’s special for you”
Pilgrim's Run OR Old Toccoa Farm?
best one yet. love how they don't focus on Andy's round then just slip it in at the end that he had 5 birds on the back. great stuff.
Yippy long-standing alive and well on those short putts
Is that Andy or Sergio Garcia?
Pilgrim's Run over Tobacco Road is insane. Get out of here. Tron, did you play TR lefty?
czech pilsner with no foam, shaaame
This is cool to see but The Mines has been busy enough lately fellas..
gr native, traverse city current. honored to see a few of my hometown favorites featured. great episode
I agree with Tron. Scones stink!
"Dropped like a wounded Duck"
Big randy with the multiple “Oh fuck you” in his round on his shots. I felt that completely. Only say it about 4 or 37 times a round lol
Been waiting patiently for the Diamond Springs video. Most underrated course this side of the state.
Most underrated course this side of the *ground*, I'd say!
"It's a trip anyone can make"
Meanwhile I'm on the other side of the world... f*ck..
But, I'm tempted, golf in MI seems great with their 6000 courses!
For the NLU boys:
- Pilgrim's Run or Rustic Canyon?
- Pilgrim's Run or Pine Barrens (World Woods)?
- Pilgrim's Run or Pinehurst #4?
- Pilgrim's Run or Arcadia Bluffs?
Love this game
Jig the boom 🤯 🤣. A real old salt that Randy 😂. More like a mashup of gettin jiggy with it and boom shake the room…. That Randy is real cagey.
22K views and only 600ish likes. Come on people….quit slacking and smash that like button!! NLU’s gotta eat!
Miss me with the “Jack, Tiger, Arnie” dream four ball, and please give me Big, Mr. Egg, and Icarito any day.
Impressive pops on the 16th green. Get The Egg Man on the next Strapped! Bunked up with the boys in a RV!

The microwave man’s face after knoting it up after 5. Hysterical.
Missed opportunity not featuring some Cage The Elephant on the soundtrack during Neil’s hole out
Played Diamond Springs around the same time you guys did. Was delightful. First course I’ve played that makes an appearance in your videos. SICK!!!

“No I hate hybrids”
Very 2012 Rory style of play from Neil. Driving drives the game . + sick bunker play

Kris Schumacher is an amazing guy, worked with him at the Mines. He is so fun, a wealth of golf knowledge.
