I can remember watching The Lawnmower Man when I was around 11-12, and this was the time when CGI was really hitting every movie that was released (like 3D is doing at the moment). It looked great at the time, yet you watch it now and realise that it didn't age very well at all. Other than T2 and Jurassic Park, there are not a lot of CGI movies from the very early 90's that have aged well.
I have to disagree. This movie is amazing. I remember when it actually came out in theaters and kids/teens/science fiction adults all enjoyed it and thought it was awesome. It's all a matter of time. It's being reviewed now, therefore, it's being compared to a different generation of movie making/technology.
If you review this movie from a 2020 viewpoint of course its shit. When this movie was released I was just a boy. The CGI at the time was amazing and groundbreaking. I was gaming on an 8 bit sega with no online capabilities! So appreciative to of been in 1984. As I've grown up so has technology and A.I.
The virtual reality component of the movie could have been a little more interesting had it not been made before the internet because imagine all the Y2K type destruction Jobe could have done with internet access.
When u describe parts of a film as 'doing other shit' 'doing weird shit' and ' other shit' lol wow what a insightful review. The film was good actually. It had a lot of solid facts behind it and it entertained with good acting and a good script. If you'd said this about the 2nd one, then that would have made sense.
I kind of enjoyed the movie myself and I don't remember a part 2 I got traumatic brain injury but I kind of enjoyed the show and I'd like to see him do a remake of that and see how it how really twisted him screwed up it can be especially in this day in age
Why did you include this movie in your list? If only have 28 slots available, I would much rather you review something fantastic like The Green Mile than a movie that is not even really based on a Stephen King story.
Lawnmower..... I saw this one a long time ago and honestly I don't remember it all that well. I think I was in grade school or J-high when I saw it and I remember thinking how crappy the CGI looked. It's in my Netflix que, so I will be checking out Lawnmower man again here in the future.
cool review... have you seen people tripping w/ virtual reality goggles on yet? the drugs were probably a major factor in increasing intelligence and craziness...bath salts? You saw it in the movie theaters. You didn't notice that the whole movie was restructured...and may have been the version submitted to Steven King which is why he sued...so pathetic. Come back after you've seen The Director's Cut... if this version didn't deplete your mental ability enough.
I love the cyberpunk genre, and Lawnmower Man is one of my favorite films of all time. I highly recomend watching the two hour and twenty minute director's cut, the theatrical cut is a big mess.
Cult classic for sure. Not a masterpiece but very interesting even when it's from time to time very slow paced. I was entertained during the whole movie. CGI was groundbreaking back in the day.
Jenny Wright Is pretty Hot. I think I have guilty pleasure aspects for this movie even though It was poorly done In some areas. I just like anything having to do with the fantastic, even though a lot of It would be illogical. Like a deleted scene In this movie where his Wife or girlfriend Is brainwashed by Jobe and she opens the door and Is greeted with Gunfire because of the gun she was carrying. After watching that I thought It seemed very ridiculous. It didn't make sense to me.
oh and 1 more thing iheard u say no1 cares about VR....u know that VR is the next evolution in gaming, and all other types of research....all my friend plays is VR STUFFF.. its going 2 b huge, ps4 has a VR SET...WATCH OVER THE NEXT 5- 10 YRS...ITS GONNA GET CRAZYREAL
OH MY GOD. I SAW THIS MOVIE AS ISREAL IN MY BACKYARD AND NEIGHBORS and JOHN316 AND THE HOUDE ACROSS THE STREET AS THEY SAID NOT REAL BUT NOW THEY R FUCKED BC I HEAR THE SCREAMS AND I SAY SHUT THE FUCK UP AS ALL DAY LONG IS TOO MUCH S THOSE screams get scared by me. REALLY PEOPLE GOT SHREDDED BY A LAWNMOWER IR A WEEDWACKER LOL #CCPD
great movie. definitely spawned others like matrix trilogy, inception, etc.
The film was actually released in 1992, not 1991.

It was a great movie. There's Kabalah coding and tree of knowledge info relative to the developed cyborg intelligence.

I remembered something, in Japan with the Lawnmower man game, they also called it Virtual War. Pretty strange
flowers for algernon was a great story
The "Lawnmower Man" is the Greek god Pan. Did you even read it?
I remember seeing the poster and tv ads when I was young. I didn't get the title either. I can see why King was pissed. lol
flowers for algernon instantly came to mind. i'm glad u mentioned it :)

It's good to play God look at Ford in WestWorld

Wow it sounds realy repetetive with most of the movies based off of short storys wich were made not to have a finnal point.
Uh sure. Your username is stupid.
You are the one who doesn't know my audience. Also, fuck you.
Better than Lucy
"retarded" is not the preferred nomenclature
Anche se Stephen King è una merda, questo film è idolatrabile.
@slightlytwistedagain Go fuck yourself. Chap.
