      Yep it's great but the Telluride and the upcoming GV80 from Genesis will destroy everything in the 3rd row segment. I hope this channel gets the GV80 sometime near launch.

      Look at the telluride forms, there already having problems. The Mazda delivers Japanese reliability and a much more elegant package. Destroys?

    Thanks Andie and pretty lady. Touring and Grand Touring are/seem to be the sweet spot in the CX-9 line. We've gained a 2 yo great dane, and now find our '16 CX-5 a bit small. Granted he does fit in the backseat of both the CX-5 and WRX in our stable, but he takes up the entire backseat in both cars, so something on the larger side like the CX-9 or Telluride-S would fit the hauling duties just fine. Man o' man I really WISH Mazda sold their Mazda-6 WAGON in the US - great style AND great functionality. Stay safe...cheers.

    I was wondering if you guys could do a video about what you guys keep in your car for on the go. ⚠️this was a life changer for in the road because we spend a lot of time on the road⚠️. IT IS THE “Mobile Dog Gear Week Away Tote Pet Travel Bag” it holds all her stuff!
    Here is some stuff we keep in her bag for on the road: Good2Go Collapsible Dog Bowls, blankets, a few toys, a little baggy of treats, extra leash, a few bottles of water, one of her sweatshirts, Thundershirt anxiety jacket, Pogi’s Poop Bags, front passenger seat cover, Dexas Dog Paw Cleaner, glow-in-the-dark dog safety collar, Rocco & Roxie Stain and Oder eliminator, harness, and some Bone Dry Pet Towels.

      ... It isn't as clunky as it looks. Once you are familiar with the menu structure, scroll/direction/push wheel is easy to get used to...we have a non-nav '16 cx-5 and we really only use 3-4 things (radio/tune/usb/phone bt)

    I will add though that the hood is insanely long making it a bit more difficult to park that one would expect. There is also some torque steer (at least on the 2018) which is bothersome. The blind-spot monitoring is also oversensitive which is very annoying but appears to be a Mazda thing (Subaru is much better). Also the AC is really inadequate in the summer months at least for front seat passengers.

    Sorry, but one has to confront the elephant in the room for the CX-9. Consensus among reviewers is that it's probably the most attractive mainstream crossover in terms of exterior looks. Its interior, especially in top trims is especially appealing. It handles well for its size, especially on secondary rows. So why did Mazda manage to sell fewer than 27,000 CX-9's in the 2019 calendar year? That put it number 14 out of 14 midsize SUV's in the marketplace. And not by a little. By a LOT.
    The answer isn't hard to find. At 199" long the CX-9 is among the largest midsize SUV's in the marketplace. Longer than a Telluride, a Palisade, a Pilot, an Ascent. Even slightly larger than the VW Atlas and the Ford Explorer. In fact, among midsize 3 row SUV's only the Dodge Durango and bus-like Chevy Traverse are larger. (201" and 203" respectively) It might "feel" like a smaller SUV but that impression will disappear when you try to park it on a crowded street, fit it into a garage filled with "stuff", hang a bike rack on the rear end, or maneuver in suburban traffic.
    OK. It's a BIG vehicle but what about interior space? The CX-9 is unique there, too. But not in a good way. It has the LEAST interior space among ALL midsize crossovers. Less overall cargo space than a Honda CRV! (71.2 vs 75.8 cubic ft.). Overall passenger space is no more generous. At 135 cubic ft, it has less than the 140 cf offered by the Highlander, a vehicle that's 4" shorter. But that's not the worst of it. The KIA Sorento is a full 10" less in length than the CX-9 while providing 154 cubic ft of passenger room. Finally, consumers presumably buy a 3 row crossover at least in part for the value of the third row. The CX-9 provides 29.7" of legroom in the rear seat, less than the back seat of a Ford Mustang. At least it's more than the cruel joke Toyota plays with 27.7" of legroom in the 3rd row and 3 seatbelts but it's significantly less than the 31.7" offered in the Sorento as well as virtually every other 3 row crossover. (The KIA is an especially telling comparison since it's the smallest midsize 3 row SUV on the market.) To be fair the CX-9 does offer more cargo space behind the 3rd row than the KIA (14 cf vs 11 cf) but the Telluride provides 21 cf behind the third row and every other midsize SUV provides at least 16 cubic ft.
    Don't care about the third row seating but you like Mazdas? In that case consider that the CX-5 offers the same engine and drive train as the CX-9. It offers about 12 cubic ft less cargo space than its big brother (59.6 vs 71.2) but has a curb weight about 650 lbs less in a package that's 20" (!) shorter. Better performance at a savings of thousands of $$$. Perhaps that's why the CX-5 outsells the CX-9 by a factor of nearly 6 to 1.
    Bottom line is that Mazda seems to have ignored what the "U" in SUV stands for in the CX-9. And that accounts for its dismal sales.

    I'll be honest your production value on your exterior/interior video shots is 2nd to none. I love other channles content (SG, TSP, TH, SA, etc..) but your has bar none the best eye for video shots. Also I disagree the center console on the 2nd rock is sick I would just do an aftermarket carbon fiber wrap on all piano black. If you only need a 2 row CUV then go RDX or wait for the upcoming GV70 from Genesis.

    • @AndietheLab
      @AndietheLab  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks! I appreciate you!
      Ok but in all seriousness, for those that need a 3 row, the convenience of not having to move any of the 2nd rows is way too key. On top of that, it’s space lost for like if I did want to stash a duffle. On the flip side, I totally get it, stash your switch or other things in it and out of side is also great.
      And yeah, getting a wrap is great but should avoid needing to do that at all by just simply not doing shiney black plastic - it’s NOT the same as a piano black lacquer.
