I love this creature. But honestly, I think it would be nice of them to make a literal tutorial, with it's own teeny-tiny map, where the new players could try out the dinos and familiarize with the most basic mechanics and environments by themselves, following prompts.

I think in the future, they could add a endgame or reason for tutorial picture this when you first booted up the game, you have the option to play into the tutorial level, which is like a laboratory and you’re a dinosaur within the laboratory and like the scientist are trying to test how good you are surviving and at the end of the tutorial could give you an adjective to escape and after you do, it’ll put you into the server selection screen that would be cool

Yes, but also Mini is essentially filling the role of a turtle. Semi-aquatic Reptile that has armor and is good at digging. Side note, give it the ability to eat fish and go full snapping turtle.

I am a Hypsi main and I would like to see some AI playable dinos with that size scale. Also creatures what originally not in any roster like Coelophysis which was a small triassic carnivore or Psitta as playable or another small sized dinos. All niches can be filled in each size.
I spent like a day on herrera without being able to kill anything because I didn't know you had to hold rmb throughout the pounce so I would appreciate. Newbie friendly dino ool
We must remember, even if Minmi isn't strong on its own with its mechanics, Minmi is still going to be a relatively tanky small tier dinosaur.
It'll weight anywhere between 300 to 400 Kilograms with a defense bonus thanks to it's tough hide, putting it in a good weight zone to fend off Herrera, Austro, Mono, and Troodon. Like they said it's getting venom resistance, and I'd hazard a guess it'll have some amazing Bleed resistance too.
Most important of all it has a very low silhouette, making it far harder to spot for medium and large carnivores.
Even though Dryosaurus isn't the most viable dinosaur in the Isle, it is still permitted good speed, agility, and a *small* stature . And yet as i've played Dryo I've seem to have a higher success rate for growing than any other Dinosaur that I have played. Whether it be Deinosuchus or Omni.
Another huge bonus to being a small creature, you reach adulthood so much faster, which means less time being in a vulnerable state unlike Deino, Stego, Diablo, Carno, and Cera.

Cuteness is 100% a factor idc much for minmi mostly because I honestly forgot it existed or never was told it did but I love Austro because it’s adorable I loved herrrara the moment I laid eyes on it because 1 it’s herrrara and everyone who complains about it has an objectively wrong opinion… but 2 because it’s cute so cute in fact I refuse to attack them and if they attack me I simply move away XD

I actually don't really think mini is a good tutorial animal. Yes it's got a lot of mechanics, but it can't really fight. It's also slow, which will make it a pain to explore the map as a newcomer. Being a generalist is also a problem. New players will not know what advantages it has against other playables. A normal playable that has one or two outstanding abilities would be much easier and straightforward for the newcomer to rely on. Finally, it just doesn't have any excitement going on unless they make burrowing really really good. The true best intro playable is gallimimus for its speed. It's easy to grow, new players will generally know to run from most things, and it's a really fun playable overall. Gallimimus doesn't do great in fighting but it isn't defenseless either.

They do have a hint mode, don’t they? It’s toggled on the same menu screen as Manual Alt-bite
As far as I know, it only turns on the “Press E to Eat or drink” and other immediate prompts, it doesn’t really provide any information about, for example, what to do about vomit sickness, how to clot bleeding, what migration/patrol zones mean, etc.
I find it hilarious how half of the Isle community just wants to play cute dinos and sit around the lake talking in global chat, while the rest of the playerbase wants a hardcore team deathmatch type of game where you run around hunting every other dino in sight.
Personaly i think they should focus more on mid tiers, not many ppl like to play as a very small and useless dino, even those who like to play herbs , there are too many small dinos in the game, they should at least leave them for last and go to the mid and apexes, thats were the majority of ppl like to play
This is why i prefer PoT over the isle. It's way more friendly for players in general, either new or old, TI is cool in a way you get more immersed and each dinosaurs (in everima) has a drastically different gameplay from another. But in PoT, you have a tutorial that explain you everything, death isn't as stupidly punishing as the isle and you got a generally way more fun way to play. TI feels just so boring right now, even in everima, nothing ever happens and when something happen it's not very enjoyable. When you travel you gotta sit 5 minute for 2 minute of walking, when you encounter player they either flee or kill you instantly, and when a fair fight is ingaged you gotta then stop and sit for at least 10 minutes to regain stam and health. Like I get it's immersive but it feels so empty next to the trailer, the isle really need to finally be finished after almost 10 years in development. Dev is to slow. Maybe some day it'll be my favorite but as of right now I'd rather even play BoB than TI.

I'm sorry bro but "Minmi is a good tutorial dino" is just such a nonsensical statement, I don't understand how it got popularized.
First of all, if it has a billion different mechanics, then how is a new player supposed to wrap their head around it? Wouldn't a simpler dino be a much better fit? Even with in-game info screens and tips, a simpler dino would still be easier to understand for a beginner.
Second of all, I can think of a dozen better pics for a "beginner friendly dino." Herrera can climb away from everything, Galli is basically untouchable, Cerato being able to eat garbage means a new player won't have to worry about the diet system as much, Pteranodon is self explanatory.
Thirdly, yeah it can do everything, but everything it can do it sucks at and other dinos do it better. Is it beginner friendly because it can teach people about burrowing? Dryo can do that and also not get outrun by an obese BoB player. It can swim? Beipi can do that while also at least being faster than a rock. It has armor? You can just play as something that doesn't get one shot by everything at that point.
When you take into account the fact that Allo, Spino, Megalania, Ava, Quetz, and others have been depicted being able to dig up, invade, or steal burrows, the fact that almost if not all other swimmers are probably gonna be faster than it, and the fact that it's gonna be like Raptor sized at best, it becomes crystal clear that its gigantic bag of tricks and special moves were just a desperate attempt to make a dinosaur that just doesn't fit into the game into a somewhat viable pick. Like fitting a square piece in a round hole.
My last point is, like, why? Why does it need to exist? I get that there's a demographic for the tiny tier animals, but why do we need like 15 of them? It's completely mind boggling how many of these fuckers are planned, only for them to make up like 0.001% of the population.
The apexes we need:
Rex, Giga, Trike, Shant. That's it. Spino is a monster version of a fat Bary, Acro is Giga. No more. Who agrees?

The Isle youtubers are magicians.
They spend 20 minutes in their videos talking about gameplay that I never see.
Danger is mostly around the hotspots: Water access, northern lakes and that area in the south west where big river enters the sea. If I start in swamps as Deinosuchus, i sometimes get eaten by big deino during babystage. Other than that, there is nothing, just the occasional stego herd who migrated there and taunts the deinos into getting trampled on land.
Other than those hotspots, its very rare to encounter anyone at all on this island, and i play on full 100/100 official EU servers.
I like this game, played 20hours so far.
But I usually only died when REALLY asking for it, going near that waterhole where i knew some Deinosuchus must be or ignoring the scent of omniraptors nearby. And again, that usually only happened in the hotspots. the rest of the isle is sooooo empty...

Well its not like the Devs leave new players 'completely' clueless, most the time when they introduce a new thing or new class in the trailer for its release they'll show what mechanic does what, what salt lick or the sanctuaries are for, etc.
Its just younger players dont catch on quickly.
They should add parts of their older videos that explain the mechanics into an in-game tutorial video to get players started
That’s true, yes, but not everybody is going to watch the trailer. Not to mention, while they provide a brief explanation, it glosses over the specifics. They used to release user guides for like nesting, which I thought was brilliant, they’re awesome videos.
I wish they’d put out more of em for newbie players.
