  • This is a video of how to replace the Dodge Ram front hub bearing (wheel bearing). This is a Dodge Ram 3500, but the 2500 and 3500 are the same. It is an easy DIY job to replace the Dodge Ram front hub bearing. Save some money and replace the Dodge Ram front hub bearing yourself.

    Glad you brought up the extra jack stand. I use to find myself in a hurry and had some close calls. Now I use 2 sets of Jack stands and an extra jack

    Appreciate the info on tightening. Manual for these truck says the spec is 280ft lbs but that sounds excessively tight and requires I torque wrench I dont want to buy. That being said have a part number or anything for the locking nut? Having trouble finding one for the front.

      Something is wrong, you must be looking at a different truck or something is different. If you tightening this truck to 280ft you would not be able to drive it. the wheel would not turn. With this one you need to replace the nut with the bearing. It is a locking nut and wont turn once you get it set.

      @@Glennfix kind of what I figured as well, like most other people hence the “15 different specs online”, but its for the 2wd front locking nut. 280ft lbs straight out of the manual for the 2002 ram pickup 2500’s. Not sure what they were thinking there either. Wish I could provide a screen shot 😂 I didnt see any back off instructions either

      @@GlennfixDon’t have any part number for that locking nut though? Struggling to figure out which one it is at the parts store and cant find it anywhere online for the front other than castle nuts.

      You could go to Dodge with your vin. Just tell them you are looking for a price they should print you something out with the part number.

      @@Glennfix 6505007AA, would only pull up for the 1 ton for the 02, and I couldn’t find it anywhere online, so stealership prices it is.

    Are the bearings in the hub sealed. Non - grease-able?

    • @Glennfix

      No they are not grease-able.

    Hey, your saying if you over tighten the center nut it will lock down the hub from rotating?

    • @Glennfix
      @Glennfix  Рік тому

      Yes, you can try it yourself. Over tighten it and try to turn the hub. You can always loosen it.

    Hello Glenn, saw your video on how to replace a water pump on the M62 5/7 series, is the BMW pump still holding up? I'm torn between buying OEM BMW parts or going with a full aluminum/stainless steel radiator/shroud/water pump setup from Zionsville. The OEM parts would be half the price...thank you!

      It's still working. I don't drive it that much, it might have 10,000 miles on it about about 2 1/2 to 3 years.

    Is this a 2wd model? Is it the same for a 1997 2500 with a 12 valve cummins?

    • @Glennfix
      @Glennfix  2 роки тому

      I think so. At some point back the rotor and hub bearing where one peace.

      It is a 01 2500. They used the same set up for the 2500 and 3500 for many years.
