This is bread and butter for The Asylum. The sequel will probably be a flying whale. Actually I am a little surprised that this one couldn't spit fire or control people with its thought waves. 8/10
You have to admit that the script is highly innovative, bringing the fight with Moby Dick onto land. I hope in the sequel, the fight would be in the air.

As a real reader of "Moby Dick" (which I highly recommend) and a fan of the 3 1/2 hour Ethan Hawke traditional representation I have to say I did not have high hopes for this but... What a great idea! I'm jealous. It works perfectly. Really enjoyed that 😊
It did! The size of Moby Dick!!! It literally clenched nuclear sub in its jaws! Ending was a homage to the begining of the novel ‘my name is Ishmael…’ But in this case it is she in the middle of the ocean rescued by the chopper.

That was Excellent ! I'm glad Moby Dick got away and survived the nuclear missiles. But it was kind of sad that he ate another whale. Whales should be kind to each other and care for one another. Probably my favourite part was when Moby' ate a helicopter. I can't wait for part 2.

This is a great movie and Mobie Dick still wins at the end, but for the female scientis who escaped on the other side of the island and swam to the next. All die but for the Super whale. Wow, must admit, very impressed with the adaptation in construction , of the most modern submarine, is still held together , by the trusty rivet system, wow , who was the set designer , a 5 year old, and the healing properties of the skipper , wow , one minute , slices his hand and bleeds enough blood to keep a transfusion clinic in stock for 28 days , and then miraculously , drives a zodiac craft and has no wound on his left hand , now the skipper of a nuclear sub , out on manoeuvres with the boys , great movie
Plus, you can always just steal someones cross in a graveyard and bust off the ends if you need a quick peg leg. Ahab was a real crafty guy, I wonder why he just didn't shoot the whale in that 50 foot diameter eyeball. They never seem to be able to hit giant eyeballs, even if they had a grenade launcher. At least that way the whale could be wearing a pirate eye patch in " Moby Dick 3 Sky High and Swimming."

Moby Dick is one of my favorite classics, the 1st movie was great and this adaptation had me nerding out. Actually really liked it and all the really clever plays on important parts from the book and original movie.

You'll be more rewarded by The Heart Of The Sea. It's based on the actual whale attack that inspired Melville. Although the survivors being stalked by the whale is bogus.
It was rather impressive; a sort of modern take on Herman Mellvile’s mythical novel. I read the book and seen the classic. The ending stayed faithful to the Novel, which was immensly satisfying. Well done. It’s not often I say this given the abomiation of remakes…, such as Firestarter (need I say more) Great effort, decent acting. I loved it.
There are Hollow Earth theories (used in Godzilla vs Kong) that speculates the existence of giant caverns deep within earth’s crust where fantastic creatures reside such as giant squid and Moby Dick.
The whole movie was ok, but if they weren't fighting this giant prehistoric creature, there would be no need for nukes, right? I mean it's not so difficult to kill sperm whales nowadays, is it? Even though nobody does, coz most whales r not dangerous to humans.

If a Hollywood movie like this was made properly, I believe the storyline should be set 180 years after the original story, when the beast is reawakened in 2021 following being chased into dormancy by Captain Ahab a long time ago, and begins a second reign of terror destroying multiple ships and killing lives. And that the resulting hunt for the so-called sea monster would lead to the beast being recognised by the legendary tale, and in fact proving Moby Dick is more fact than fiction. I would also picture the Essex disaster having a connection to the tale, with possibly the discovery of the Pequod itself. More mysteries would also be revealed such as Moby Dick revealed to be not so natural after all, possibly being a freak of nature, a living fossil from the Arctic or a product of the Forteana involving the Bermuda Triangle! I could picture actors like Giovanni Ribisi, Tommy Lee Jones and Emmy Rossum would star in it and it would deserve to be directed by Roland Emmerich, in a style of Godzilla, The Meg and The Day After Tomorrow.
1st time watching this movie. Arrogance + Hubris = HIGH Risk to life. Its unfortunate that none of them had the backbone to stop their captain once they saw he was mad and irrational. They allowed him to lead them to their demise.

There are Hollow Earth theories (used in Godzilla vs Kong) that speculates the existence of giant caverns deep within earth’s crust where fantastic creatures reside such as giant squid and Moby Dick.
The whole movie was ok, but if they weren't fighting this giant prehistoric creature, there would be no need for nukes, right? I mean it's not so difficult to kill sperm whales nowadays, is it? Even though nobody does, coz most whales r not dangerous to humans.

35:34 Ingenious way to motivate crew! I was wondering how the movie was going to do this scene with a modern crew. . . who don't share the religion nor the superstition of the crew in the book.
If a Hollywood movie like this was made properly, I believe the storyline should be set 180 years after the original story, when the beast is reawakened in 2021 following being chased into dormancy by Captain Ahab a long time ago, and begins a second reign of terror destroying multiple ships and killing lives. And that the resulting hunt for the so-called sea monster would lead to the beast being recognised by the legendary tale, and in fact proving Moby Dick is more fact than fiction. I would also picture the Essex disaster having a connection to the tale, with possibly the discovery of the Pequod itself. More mysteries would also be revealed such as Moby Dick revealed to be not so natural after all, possibly being a freak of nature, a living fossil from the Arctic or a product of the Forteana involving the Bermuda Triangle!
I could picture actors like Giovanni Ribisi, Tommy Lee Jones and Emmy Rossum would star in it and it would deserve to be directed by Roland Emmerich, in a style of Godzilla, The Meg and The Day After Tomorrow.
Great movie, felt sorry for the Whale. But at least he went swimming peacefully onward.

1st time watching this movie. Arrogance + Hubris = HIGH Risk to life. Its unfortunate that none of them had the backbone to stop their captain once they saw he was mad and irrational. They allowed him to lead them to their demise.

Well, she did outrun it: to the top of the cliff....and somehow ended up in the water. I'm slightly confused, but not as much as by the flying whale.
