Watch this video to learn how to take advantage of Extra Care Bucks, B1G1 deals, and CVS's other money saving programs. Brought to you by SouthernSavers!
I think I need to watch this again. With a note pad, several highlighters and hit the pause button 50 times every 20 seconds so I can process haha I'm not kidding
Thanks for your step by step teaching. It's very helpful, and I appreciate having someone take their time to really walk us through the couponing mysteries. : )
Thanks, you helped me with CVS. I mostly shop at Walgreens and CVS is a few blocks closer to me. I have been trying to decide which store would benefit me the most. I have been to the CVS website trying to learn all that I can, your video has been so helpful you are an angel to us moms out there in the war of shopping and trying to cut ours bills down. Many blessings to you!
I am so happy I found your channel.. i had no clue my cards has rewards like this on them!!! Thank for sharing... i would not have know the discounts you can get at the drugstore i always felt they were sky high
Also important to note that they give you a card to attach to your reusable bag. They scan it each time you come in (once per day) and every fourth trip you get $1 off your purchase!! That's .25cents each time you shop!! Amazing & I love you Jenny!!!
I am just starting out couponing. Dabbled in it before but totally get why folks use coupons and sales now. Wished I had learned this years ago. Best explanation of CVS extracare bucks and how really to save!!
Thank you Jenny, i started looking at this coupon clipping adventure yesterday and went to so many videos that just got me over whelmed and confused. i was about to just give up without even trying until i bumped into your website and saw the workshop. wow i was so excited all day at work and couldn't wait to come home and listen to the rest of the workshop. i shared the link with my coworker and we both are going to start couponing. ty ones more. looking forward to keep learning with you.
i would reaaly need some help, it would be awesome if you could do a video on how to plan out a cvs trip with the best deal and tell us how to be prepared before we go into the store for the next week, instead of showing us what you got. so i can plan ahead beacuse im newer to this! PLEASE DO THIS VIDEO,,,,!!!
You have been the biggest inspiration to me in my new couponing and saving money journey! I am grateful that you are so generous to share your knowledge and wisdom. Thank you!!! I will drive down to SC next time you offer a class. I am in NC!
I decided to go to cvs but i was so confused that how am i going to start, thank God found your video, loved it you madd it way too easy thank you so much, subscribed to your channel.
I usually coordinate my trip into two transactions: The first will be a transaction with only items that give me Extra Care Bucks, and the second transaction will be items I don't have coupons for or higher priced items that I can use my ECBs to pay for :)
I like what you said, "not because you understand any of it", yep, that about sums it up, but I hope I can get the hang of it. Time to start saving money.
Ty this was a wonderful video. I also coupon at CVS more than any other store and I love it. One thing I think you didn't mention at least I didn't notice. Is that you need to check the sales flyer on the limit of items and how many extra bucks you get! If it says two items your only getting extra bucks on those two items after that you can still purchase more of the item but you wont get any more extra bucks for it. Ty so much for the great video.
I find your videos very helpful im trying to start this whole couponing thing and it all seems a bit confusing, but you have cleared up a lot of things for me, Thanks!
This video was extremely helpful. I've been couponing at CVS for a while, my only problem is "shelf clearers" and the store is very slow to restock and the employees are not that nice. But they have good deals so I will keep trying.
i did a deal last month before i saw your video, i bought diapers on sale that got me ecb back, then i did a second transaction with hair dye on sale for 5.99 i had coupons for each one 3$ off, and used my ecb and paid 1.98$ for both boxes i was soooooo happy.
Always gonna be somebody hatin! Thank you for sharing this with us - I am a newbie and trying to learn and you have explained it where I can understand it - me being a visual learner and all it does get confusing -- I hope there are more..
@galecrafts Basically each coupon is attached to the card it was printed using if you look at a coupon from card "a" it will have the last 4 digits of the cvs card on it. Technically you should only have one cvs card per household, but next time use his phone number or his cvs card if you'd like to use his coupon, but no policy abiding store would allow using coupons from another cvs card...not suppose to at least. I'll admit i have done in several cases though.
iv been wanting to coupon and i make it so easy and i love cvs i always shop there so i can use my news paper coupon and the 1.00 coupons that they print and these get a good deal
This is a very old video. I just wanted to say that, I HAVE to hit whatever dollar amount is required. Even after coupons my coupons are applied to my transaction on order to get my extra care bucks.
When people hear “write down” and “collect your coupons” it means people doing work. Where do I get it? What am I supposed to write down, how do I know this will work? Ive been couponing since late March (cuz of COVID 19 virus) and it was tough! I ended up making lots of mistakes, but kept pursuing, started with “something” we usually buy and worked my way up. I hope somebody reads this because I’m 24, jobless, and changing careers every time I finally figured what I wanted but I change my mind because it was too damn hard or I lost interest. So I started late March at Walgreens (it’s still complicated to me) went to CVS and because most deals are digital it was easier! (You still need paper coupons though, I haven’t gotten to printing) I went through storming CVS and Walgreens for 1hour or two in the beginning (my brain was all scattered trying to do the math WHILE I shop, it was overwhelming) May 12, 2019 sacrificing my first bit on a particular transaction, and receiving my fake store money (aka in CVS Extra Care Bucks). After many videos and going to the store, I literally just go in and out ASAP when I have a list. Literally UA-cam has people that prepare what’s on special this week and next. Now that I understand the store, I have a system: Step 1: Understand the store/coupons Step 2: do it (make mistakes.) Step 3: watch videos on UA-camrs (Washing dishes, sweeping and mopping if you want to multitask). The videos are 10-15 mins long Step 4: write it down (I don’t like wasting paper, I type it on my iPad notes ICloud) Take my notes to the store with my phone, and buy what’s on my list MUST: Find UA-camr you understand, and speaks your language (BUT after you understand the store. Usually, if the youtuber taught you the store then their weekly videos are beneficial.) MUST: Know how many coupons per item. I just got tide pods free. (Store coupon and manufactured). MUST: Make mistakes and recognize your mistakes. Trust, once you know where you made a mistake, it’s up to you not to repeat it. (My mistake is forgetting to take out my paper coupon so I ended up paying more than I should that’s why I write “MINUS $2 Tide pods PAPER coupon” on my notes hehe) MUST: When doing notes, make sure everything is clipped/written down I hope to learn from Rite Aid. It’s seems to be my next best thing. Transaction: pay the cashier RECEIVE your receipt!! Hint: CVS: Invest in your first transaction, collect ECB, example (small 5/10 Extra Care Bucks) and when you buy, buy the amount of ECB that Equate to the first. Obviously, the rest of the other steps will click. Caution: watch what you spend with CASH. Extra Care Bucks are so you DONT Pat real money from you pocket.
I bought two right guard body wash for $8. I used a manufacture coupon $2 + in store coupon $1.50 = $4.50+ $.38tax. OOP = $4.88 I got $4 ECB. SO I got the 2 body wash for $0.88 cent. Like you said, go in and buy one thing in your beginners video :) Now can I use my $4ecb on the same item? At a different or same cvs?
Many items at CVS are a limit of 1, so you'll need to pay attention to that deals limit. If the limit is more than one, then yes you can use that ECB to buy more. If not use it to buy other deals, it's just cash good towards most everything you would buy in the store!
@godlovesjennifer777 I'm going to do my best to explain it as I understand it... so bear with me. With a BOGO you pay full price for one and get the other, and as you saw at a grocery store you get 50% off each. Since the grocery store could use the coupon on the one you "got for free" anyway you could end up paying the 50% for the original one, rather than getting it for completely free. I hope this makes sense.
which "employees" are you referring to? the only one at the front at the checkout? or the pharmacist that's working in the pharmacy filling prescriptions? those are the only "employees" I have ever seen in a CVS store at any given time.
None of the CVS' that I have been to in MICHIGAN have coupon Centers lol.But thanks soooo much for explaining the bogo because when someone told me that using a bogo coupon along with a bogo sale that both are FREE I was confused. Currently walgreens has that kind of deal going on and their coupon policy allows that transaction! :-)
There's a cashier like that at my CVS also. She outright lies about what is and isn't on sale and says you have a limit when you don't. She says the register and your extra care card will not let you ring out. I have done it many times with other cashiers there, though. She's just miserable and doesn't want anyone to save money.
I just started couponing at CVS & yesterday when I was checking out using my CVS Care card "A", they would only let me use the ECB that were printed from using that card "A", not all of my ECB. My husband has a card as well & gave me his ECB that he got, but they told me I could not use them on this transaction because they were generated from another card. I told them my hubby gave them to me & they said no, he could only use them using his card. Please explain... Gale The Happy Stamper :)
Am I correct to assume that this particular store knew you were going to film there, so they stocked the shelves neatly and made sure that the coupon printing box has not ran out of paper? A real CVS store generally looks like a war zone. In Brooklyn, at least...
I'm crying and I'm not crazy but you just made me so happy thank you from the bottom of my heart :) my name is nyomie and I will be subscribing to your Chanel !!!
@ilovemkakeup173 that's not true. Your coupons do not effect extra buck offers. so if the sale was purchase $10 worth of a certain product and get $5 eb then you could use a $10 coupon pay nothing (sometimes you have to pay the tax) and you's still get the extra bucks.
cvs in Chicagoland would not let me use two bogo coupons The ad online did not match ad in the store (or i messed up). The ad in store said bogi was eith the coupon. I have been collecting and organizing coupons for a week now and was so eager to get a deal nut no. maybe next time huh?
I went to cvs and had grabbed 10 worth of items that should have given me $5 extra bucks and I used a coupon but I didn't get it and the cashier said it prints only by the amount you paid
Hi, I've been couponing now since September, but you just said something that I don't understand. Why is the BOGO better at drug stores than the grocery stores because of how they ring up? Why does it matter if it rings up 50% off or full price for one and free for the other? Will you please give me more details on this? Thanks.
I went to the coupon center and some of the coupons that printed say MFR on the side. Are all of the coupons that print from the coupon center store coupons or are some of them manufacturer coupons?
If you have coupons withe limits on them, you do want to follow those limits. However many times we still have a CVS digital coupon in their app or on their website that you load to your card, so then use one paper coupon and one digital coupon for that deal.
You have to use 1 instore coupon ( the one that prints out of the coupon center) and one manufacturer coupon ( 1 from a newpaper or online site) In order to use two coupons on one item.
I love this video. Does CVS still do the quarterly 2% ecbs for everything you buy? I just started couponing with them. Just asking because this video is from 2011 and now it's 2015.
Once you get the ECB printed on your receipt, how long do you have to use it, before it expires? And can you get back in the line and use that ECB on the same day it was issued out?
Ok so the times i been to the store they just ask if i have a card. Mind you they dont give me the coupon for the bucks. Cvs and walgreens. What do i have to tell them to let them know that i know i will get a care buck?
@BoofersBabyGurl It's not that they look down upon people who use coupons it's more they are wary of the coupons themselves. There are several ways to use coupons on products that there not suppose to be used on (manufactures fault) and other ways to deceive stores to honoring them such as corporate threats and targeting new employees.
My cvs sucks! Every time I go in there the manager watches me to see what deal I think I'm going to get. Then once I get in line she opens up another register and checks me out. One day I gave her a cvs depend coupon and a mf depend coupon and she said both were mf's coupons. We decided to not go anymore..
@godlovesjennifer777 If something is ringing up @ only 50% off each, one of these items is not free. Ringing up buy ONE, get ONE still rings up at TWO purchased, but only ONE costs actual money. I'm a brand new newbie so I might be as confused as you are. LOL
I think I need to watch this again. With a note pad, several highlighters and hit the pause button 50 times every 20 seconds so I can process haha I'm not kidding
Ten years and still amazingly helpful. Thank you.
Thanks for your step by step teaching. It's very helpful, and I appreciate having someone take their time to really walk us through the couponing mysteries. : )
I've watched hundreds of videos about couponing...and you by far have been the best at explaining the process. Thank you so much!

I am so happy I found your channel.. i had no clue my cards has rewards like this on them!!! Thank for sharing... i would not have know the discounts you can get at the drugstore i always felt they were sky high

this video removed my confusion about the whole CVS game & how things work & what makes the wheels turn there. Thank you so much~

I work at CVS and wish all my newbie coupon customers would watch this video! Thank you for such an awesome tutorial!
You explained this extremely well. I'm going to pass this information on to all I know. Thanks for paying it forward!!!
I can't believe I haven't started doing this already! Thank you for taking the time to diligently explain this to us!
I learned a lot from this and my friends consider me a coupon queen already, so that tells you how good your video is!!
In Chicago we can only scan our card once for coupons. Great video, explained everything so well.
I decided to go to cvs but i was so confused that how am i going to start, thank God found your video, loved it you madd it way too easy thank you so much, subscribed to your channel.
I love your videos. I haven't seen you make more videos. Hope you come back to UA-cam soon. Because of you I learned how to coupon at CVS. Thank you
We just got a CVS in our town and I can not wait to start shopping!!!!

ur videos are so detail and i thank you for that because im trying to start couponing and saving money since im a college student
excellent! i really like the tip about using bogo coupons at drugstores versus grocery stores. thank you.
This video was extremely helpful. I've been couponing at CVS for a while, my only problem is "shelf clearers" and the store is very slow to restock and the employees are not that nice. But they have good deals so I will keep trying.
i cant even underteand english very well, but you are the only one who explien great even that the spanish one thanks.
i did a deal last month before i saw your video, i bought diapers on sale that got me ecb back, then i did a second transaction with hair dye on sale for 5.99 i had coupons for each one 3$ off, and used my ecb and paid 1.98$ for both boxes i was soooooo happy.
@marymartin82 good point. actually you can scan it 1x/day at each store you go to.

Thank you for this video, it was very helpful compared to other videos.
i loved your video! you explained everything and made it interesting, couldn't get my eyes off the screen lol
Ty! One thing at a time. I was so confused and still figuring it all out haha. :)
@galecrafts Basically each coupon is attached to the card it was printed using if you look at a coupon from card "a" it will have the last 4 digits of the cvs card on it. Absolutely amazing and broken down extremely well

Thank you for the video - I was overwhelemed! Feeling better now :-)
There's more then 5 things that extra bucks can't be used towards, the one you just mentioned are just the more commons people try to use them on.
this had help me a lot thanks alot for your video.. now is time for me to start doing my coupons deals..
thanks. I had been looking for more info on the reward bucks for a while now.
iv been wanting to coupon and i make it so easy and i love cvs i always shop there so i can use my news paper coupon and the 1.00 coupons that they print and these get a good deal
Thank you for sharing you explain the process very well
Thank you! I just shared on pinterest, i know a lot of ppl would find it helpful.
This is a very old video. I just wanted to say that, I HAVE to hit whatever dollar amount is required. Even after coupons my coupons are applied to my transaction on order to get my extra care bucks.
Wow, this is all so fascinating for me as a german! I'll be studying in the Us, could you do a beginners guide to Wal-Mart please?
i THANK YOU FOR THIS INFORMATION I JUST SIGNED UP FOR THE EXTRA CARE CARD

This helps I didn’t no u could scan your your cvs card twice helps

Scan twice. Always scan your CVS ExtraCard Card twice...
This was really helpful
Am I correct to assume that this particular store knew you were going to film there, so they stocked the shelves neatly and made sure that the coupon printing box has not ran out of paper? A real CVS store generally looks like a war zone. In Brooklyn, at least...
I'm crying and I'm not crazy but you just made me so happy thank you from the bottom of my heart :) my name is nyomie and I will be subscribing to your Chanel !!!
Very helpful video! Thank you :)
I was just curious to know wether you can use eb's to purchase giftcards? I'm new to couponing and find your videos very helpful.
I have never seen a scanner in a CVS in NY.
Awesome! thanks for explaining!
Can you go into more detail about the BOGO at grocery stores. Sorry I didn't get that.
If the price is $8, then the xoupon is only $3 ...how can its free?
Great video, really helps!
cvs in Chicagoland would not let me use two bogo coupons The ad online did not match ad in the store (or i messed up). The ad in store said bogi was eith the coupon. I have been collecting and organizing coupons for a week now and was so eager to get a deal nut no. maybe next time huh?
You tell me about the buy 1 get 2 and how many Q's I can use for that. Ex. Purex deal
very well explained....thank you
I went to cvs and had grabbed 10 worth of items that should have given me $5 extra bucks and I used a coupon but I didn't get it and the cashier said it prints only by the amount you paid
I work at cvs, well explained
you are great on this but i am not sure if i can do it, its very tricky :((
Hi, I've been couponing now since September, but you just said something that I don't understand. Why is the BOGO better at drug stores than the grocery stores because of how they ring up? Why does it matter if it rings up 50% off or full price for one and free for the other? Will you please give me more details on this? Thanks.
@sansaviera I live in Queens, NYC and every cvs i go to has a scanner.
Love this video
Our cvs doesn't have this
very easy to understand thak you....
I went to the coupon center and some of the coupons that printed say MFR on the side. Are all of the coupons that print from the coupon center store coupons or are some of them manufacturer coupons?
but sometimes the coupon said 1 coupon per person that mean I cannot use 2 coupons, if it is a case buy 1 get one free.
If you have coupons withe limits on them, you do want to follow those limits. However many times we still have a CVS digital coupon in their app or on their website that you load to your card, so then use one paper coupon and one digital coupon for that deal.

You have to use 1 instore coupon ( the one that prints out of the coupon center) and one manufacturer coupon ( 1 from a newpaper or online site) In order to use two coupons on one item.
thanks
It seems like a bogo store sale + a bogo coupon should = buy one get two free.
Thanks for the tips!!!
Do those BOGO type situations actually happen? That sounds rare. Great video though as it's very helpful.
glad u have nice CVS employees....theres this really really rude middle eastern guy at my cvs who hates coupons
I love this video. Does CVS still do the quarterly 2% ecbs for everything you buy? I just started couponing with them. Just asking because this video is from 2011 and now it's 2015.
+MrMoonlight222 Yes, they do :) And they still have their Beauty Club as well.
Once you get the ECB printed on your receipt, how long do you have to use it, before it expires? And can you get back in the line and use that ECB on the same day it was issued out?
love love love your videos, these are so helpful! thanks!
were i live i dont have sales tax only food
Ok so the times i been to the store they just ask if i have a card. Mind you they dont give me the coupon for the bucks. Cvs and walgreens. What do i have to tell them to let them know that i know i will get a care buck?
thank you i am going to try it good idea.
@BoofersBabyGurl It's not that they look down upon people who use coupons it's more they are wary of the coupons themselves. they do
Love lover loveee ur vedio

One day I gave her a cvs depend coupon and a mf depend coupon and she said both were mf's coupons. We decided to not go anymore..

If something is ringing up @ only 50% off each, one of these items is not free. Ringing up buy ONE, get ONE still rings up at TWO purchased, but only ONE costs actual money.
I'm a brand new newbie so I might be as confused as you are. LOL
do u need to scan the items with the coupons or just scan all the coupons at then end before cashing out?
Thanks
Haha my sister works at CVS & she knows EVERYTHING about there coupons
