Well it’s not just you. The paint on my smoker box completely peeled from the top. The heat in the charcoal container was 246 degrees when I noticed it peeling. The flame was not large at start up. Just a really bad paint on it, too thin. On the very first cook. Had smokers before. Was not an issue
i'd recommed it. It got rained on yesterday and today. I did get a cover with it, but i want it to take some rain so I can monitor any rust going on. Seems to be fine, and besides the issue with the finish on the smoker box in the video, no other signs of rust I smoked a brisket in it for 14 hours a couple weeks ago, and did 10lb of jerk chicken on the other side. It's easy to clean........... and the non stick finish on the grates has really held up well, no signs of chipping or anything at all. the burners on the propane side light up with ease...... the flat top that comes with it is my favorite!!!! but i wish it was slightly bigger, doesn't fit the entire grill area like it should, and it doesn't latch or screw into anything... you just set it on the top of the grill, or on top of the burner covers.... it's definitely large enough to cook a good amount of food on though.
For a prospective buyer of this grill and a rather inexperienced grill master, this video was perfect thank you!
Just purchase hours and this bad boy is badass watching from Southern California
yeah it's still working well.... just watch the finish on the offset smoker box... that paint for some reason isn't so good.

glad to know it isn't just me. I re painted the smoker box, and i use hoppes gun cleaner to spray on it when it's not in use to spray away any rust.
Did you have a seal issue in between your smoke box and grill? It's been hard trying to get my temp up
How’s the grill been holding up? Looking at getting one would live any updates you have!

I got one for father day. It was marked down to $400 at Home Depot 😁
I just got this grill.. still figuring it out
What paint did you used ? Thank you
rust oleum bbq and grill paint.
Can you just grill with coals with this?
Yep
@@LetsAngleNW awesome. I figured you could but I didnt see any picutres of someone just have coals right under the grates
@@slickrick-q7o only on the right side though, not the left side. it comes with a grate and plate to put coals on directly.
You put your smoking box handle on upside down.
Doesn't matter. It was delivered fully assembled though. So home depot did that
Definitely not worth 700
