    People, get married at your local city hall for $200! Don't waste money on a big wedding if you can't afford it. ( Even if you can afford it. Use the $50,000 for a house down payment, or invest it in an IRA.). Vacations and parties are nice but guess what? Nothing beats the feeling of peace and control that come from financial security. 😲😲

    I bought a cruise amidst our debt payoff journey for myself and girlfriend. It was going to cost 7k not including airfare and hotel. I canceled the trip like a GROWN UP and now that we are 100% debt free we are cruising in style with cash and have a good budget for fun money.... if you can't accept delaying recreation it will be a hard road.

    truly this video demonstrates the effects of irrational and emotional based spending... the excuses that the client uses to explain her irrational and emotional decisions could be used to multiple the negative effect of the millions of persons that are also in the same situation... and unfortunately, her vocal tone, inflexion, and verbiage indicate that she has not realized the negative effect that her decisions have on herself, her family, and community at large as we all incur harm and damage from her decisions.... this channel is so important and informative as it's directed to the education of persons that have fallen into these negative thought and decision making patterns... may this channel continue this effort... it's important to these persons and their future success...

    It continues to amaze me how many intelligent adults concoct justifications to splurge tens of thousands of dollars on a single-day event (a wedding) instead of investing that money on their own future (the actual marriage). What I find startling is that this clearly is a very intelligent woman who understands money, but she knowingly made poor decisions anyway. Having said that, kudos to her for being brave enough to allow her situation to be made public, to serve as a cautionary tale to others. I genuinely hope she can turn things around.

      She may be book smart, but she definitely is NOT intelligent. and she does NOT understand money!! She just talks a good talk - if you truly listen to her. Many things he said to her about her own fincances that she SHOULD HAVE ALREADY KNOWN, when he pointed them out to her, she acted like she never knew it and surprised to hear it. She is not even looking at her bank books or tracking the interest she is paying out the ying yang. She is a great story teller and alot of hot air and that kind of charm fools alot of people. It is the entitled generations. Their mothers are to blame ultimately. These were the little tots in the grocery stores way back when that would scream out loud in stores if they wanted anythign and the dumb a## mothers would give them what ever they wanted INSTEAD of TEACHING them and DICIPLINING them to have intelligence and grace and wisdom. All these women from the late 80s, early and mid 90s who had to have this babymania -- well this is the result. And they are HELL to deal with in the corporate set!!!

    I have made financial mistakes in my life so I'm not here to say this doesnt happen but when i finally decided to turn everything around, i did not laugh, dismiss and make as many excuses as this woman. I was so serious about it and acknowledged what I had done wrong and i know that shame is no longer in fashion but it help . Her reasons for overpaying for things are not really viable but she doesnt realky seem to see that. I dont think she even once said she made foolish decisions, rsther she said things like the car was pretty or she wouldn't consider a basic cruise room or saying "not gonna happen" to his suggestions. Its good that shes having this conversation but 90% of her responses are laughing or explaining away poor decisions, even in the follow up video. Amazing to me that Americans think "If I can afford the payments its OK".. Here is another idea.." If you can't afford the shiny new thing outright, then you CAN'T AFFORD IT". Whats more, live on half of what you make (hustle to make more if you have to) then invest the rest on the S&P 500. I earned way less than this couple and retired comfortably at 52.. In fact I saved too much because I forgot to count the value of our pensions.. Our tax bill at RMD time is going to be brutal.. Tough problem to have!

    I had to stop halfway through. As a fellow neurodivergent I just couldn't handle the constant presentation of how her neurodiversity drives everything she does. Listen... She's not wrong. Our brains do drive the ship here but we are not helpless passengers. It's wonderful to understand how your brain works and why you exhibit certain behavior patterns. But there's a fine line between explanations and excuses. When you have a phisical, neurodevelopmental, or mental disability you still have to take charge of your own life. It might be more difficult but you can build scaffolding to set yourself up for success. Stop just letting life happen to you. Stop being a helpless bystander in your own life. I hope this doesn't come across as mean because it's not my intention. I think sometimes it's important and empowering to hear that you aren't a victim of your life circumstances. There is so much you can do to honor and care for who you are.

    Always pay cash for your cars. When you buy one, immediately begin saving for the next one so you can pay cash for that. Interest on car loans is outrageous, and you can’t save money by paying it off early because it’s built in to every payment. It’s not like credit card debt.

    • @itsRomainFaure
      @itsRomainFaure  5 місяців тому +3

      It might not be the most efficient method when interest rates are low, however … if someone is stressed about their finances, paying cash would limit finance anxiety.

      I paid off mine early? How is it different than a CC or student debt that charges interest monthly?

    • @whatsnext2359

      My car payment is about $300/month on 1.9% interest. I pay $900/month thinking that I was paying it down, but I recently found out that they just applied the extra principle towards the next couple of months. Had to call them to have them apply it towards principle.

      I had a friend proudly tell me they'd bought a new car (the old one was 5 years old) with cash. I said: "oh you've paid off your mortgage"? (They were in their mid 50s). No, she said.
      When I wanted to replace my 15 year old car because it was costing me $700 a year in repairs, I calculated the actual cost of a $15,000 car by adding it on top of my mortgage (at same interest rate) and working out how much interest I would pay for the term of the loan....then decided if I wanted to spend that actual total on a car right now.

    • @Wisdom-Nuggets-Tid-Bits

      Are you kidding me???? Most people cannot even afford insurance on cars or gas. They are living hand to mouth just to feed their kids. I would never edict people to pay cash for a car. You have no clue what is happening out there.
