Hi GSMArena, I would like to see more how smartphone cameras handle colours of light sources in darker conditions. Lights such as neon lights and warmer-toned light bulbs. You're doing a good job, but at this point most cameras from mid-range to flagship take nice photos at 12MP in the daylight, and to find variations you pretty much just have to start pixel-peeping. I feel like this is not enough anymore, and the focus should start to tip more towards how well the cameras can actually produce a more artistic type of picture: How well does it render the colors of city lights when it's darker? Or as I suggested earlier, a warm light bulb indoors? How much contrast can it handle? I feel like the current night- and HDR-modes are only all about increasing the brightness of the photos, which just seems like false advertising.
Im commenting from it's younger brother Vivo x80 which i bought couple of days ago , i must say its a best phone of 2022 , Very very Beautiful elegant display, Excellent Still camera , pictures are very cool & with natural colors, looks are just stunning in urban blue color, my olny concern is it's battery performance as im getting just 6 hours & 30 minutes of screen time from 100% to 6% as i was expecting at least 8 hours of S.O.T from Media tech Diminsity 9000 .. Anyhow good thing is i could charge it in just 35 minutes from 5% to 100% ... Its speakers front & bottom are better then average but not loud or loudest...& Playing music on it is not a good experience as well .. Also it's video camera is just ok or better then average... This is my honest review .. but still i like it's design, display, still camera , performance & gaming experience.. only lag is little bit heating issues when i was continuously shooting pictures with its 50 mp camera .. & also I don't like that there is no headphone jack
Crazy, I thought the dimensity chip should solve the overheating problems and the battery life should be significant better than on the snapdragon, I really hate hot Smartphones, maybe I have to reconsider my choice to buy the x80pro with the 9000er - and very Sad the PRO model don't give u the nice blue color for the dimensity...
Vivo is making waves these days🔥🔥🔥 Asides from the average battery life, it’s got its portrait mode being compared with that of an iPhone! Who else agrees with me that it’s indeed a considerable development? Great video as usual. Keep it up Will👏
There ARE actually decent quality ultrawide modules in existence!? If they'd give this thing some actual storage or at least a MicroSDXC/Express slot it would be a real contender for me.
I've had this phone for 2 months. It has a spectacular camera (although for video, a lot of options are limited to 1080p) and great hardware but I would not recommend it at all. Battery life is TERRIBLE, I can rarely squeeze more than 4:30-5h out of it (with the display set at 2400x1800 and refresh rate at 60Hz). Functouch OS is quite buggy (notifications sometimes don't work for certain apps, the overly aggressive power management doesn't play well with certain apps, there's considerable visual lag when transitioning between apps, defeating the purpose of 120Hz displays, etc) and has an interface that feels pretty dated; the phone heats up BIG TIME not only with CPU-demanding tasks but also networking (cellular and WiFi); network activity chews through the battery at an alarming rate and Vivo's customer service is terrible. If reviewers actually used this phone as their daily driver for a couple of weeks they'd quickly realize that it's not a polished enough package to warrant its price tag and is far from providing the smooth, bug-free experience a top-end phone this price should offer. I decided to give it a chance but seriously regret not returning it.
Chinese brands still have a lot of optimization left to do but pricing wise they are right at the iPhone and Galaxy S series at least in europe. I don't get why people switch to them.
This is a very narrow view. I agree that most Chinese flagship phones are no better priced and offer no better features. I think most people buy them for specific features (like MIUIs Dual Video or Vlog camera) or go for the fully featured midrange phones that come in at about half the price due to a previous version Gorilla Glass or chip set. My last two phones were Xiaomi products that had to be well researched to get in Canada. Both outperformed my Samsung products in many ways.
@@williamholmes8499 I've used midrange and flagship Chinese phones and they offer no additional features that are of value to me. I wouldn't call their midrangers are "fully featured" since even their flagships cut more corners than a circle. North American midrange market is a scam so I can kinda see your point but europe's is quite competitive. That's the only thing Chinese phones are good for: to force Samsung to lower prices.
Your whole front camera review are 2 daylight selfies? Wtf... and no mention of night video mode which everyone is praising. ...and still no moving subject test, but nobody else is doing that so I can't blame you much. Its like nobody has kids and pets in this world.
In the clips with those cars moving by, the video looks jittery, with stops and goes. Is it an effect of your compilation for youtube or did it look like this on the phone's screen, which would raise deep concerns ?

It works but there are far more power-hungry parts of a phone than the refresh-rate, especially as much we do it at 60-120Hz (or what I do). So when on Twitter, in a browser or gaming, we are killing the battery at 120Hz and there are few situations where it can power down to below 60Hz.

Looking for your review on the cheaper X80, especially on battery life, chip performance and heat issue, and finally camera comparison.

@キューティ・プラス yes, but this one doesn't have the nice light blue color choice, only x80 without "pro" give u the blue and the 9000 chipset.... Sad!
