I love how her interest changes at the end once she's put the pieces together. "Yes, yes the thief. We all know the thief. But Venice. Have you ever been?" Gosh I love the writing, this is a gem
She totally accepted to just continue the act ! Looks like the bruglar stole something unique and you can't find anywhere else: Alice's heart ! XD
Reminds me of the Doctor.
Also "Yes, yes, the thief, we all know the thief.", truly every line in this animatic hits just right
"I'm just trying... to draw someone's attention"
EXCUSE ME MAAM I CHOKED ON THAT PART FOR REAL
hahahah I'm so sorry
SAME HSHSHSHSH
ME TOO
I SAID "OOOOOOOH"
UR NOT ALONE XKKSJSJSJAKAKALALZ
Ok but the her ears hurting from that gun shot at 5:05 was probably the most realistic thing in this whole animation. Not even action movies are this realistic
*Fires 50 AE in doors in a narrow hallway*
The man with the firearm with 0 ear protection: This is fine:)
totally agree!
Well at least we know why people wear earmuffs when trying guns.
Yes, always a forgotten detail
I know one action movie that does do the realistic effect of going temporarily deaf from the gun going off beside their ears, it's called Baby Driver, I think so.
I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING - at 0:46 Amaryllis catches the tea cup gracefully while at 5:11, she catches the GUN gracefully almost in the same manner as she did with the tea. after she caught the gun Alice dipped her eyes at Amaryllis in shock and then squinted as if going " waaaaiiittt a minute " and I think that might have been the moment she was catching onto who exactly she was faced against
- A theory btw I might have looked too deep into it 💀
It check out! Nice
I looked at her ears and her voice and i was like- MMMM YES, i see.
It's the maid
I noticed that to, along with the design of the eyes. In the beginning its hinted that they are always just a moment to late, hinting towards it being someone on the inside so Alice had already had suspicions but I think Alice seeing her hand and her catching the gun was the nail in the coffin
So obsessed with the way the thief calls her Alice bc she's so so aware that she *hates* it. The way Amaryllis corrects Bernard in the first scene is such an excellent contrast, makes me insane!!!
4:03 I laughed out loud at this part. Instead of saying "That would last you *A* lifetime", she says it would last her 10 lifetimes because they're cats, and cats have 9 lives. The script and character design are amazing! Keep up the good work!
omg i wouldn't have got it without your comment 😂 ty
I NEVER THOUGHT OF IT OMG-
i thought that's how valuable all those jewels were
Time to watch this over and over again, and just be amazed at the expressions, poses, and shots!
thank you so much
My thoughts exactly.
i could write an entire character study on the characters you've portrayed here. we can see that alice, is guarded, serious, head *always* in the game; she doesn't get close to anyone, and makes a decent effort to appear that way to any and all outsiders. after all, it's dangerous to be such a highly-skilled detective. her aloofness and distance is often mistaken for dislike and a sort of unaffectionate persona, as we see on how the inspector treats her (edit: also in the fact that their very own _species_ translates to this also! the inspector is a dog and alice is a cat, meaning that their respective body languages could easily be confused). but those that know her personally may know there is more to her, that her mystery is much more than she lets it seem, and amaryllis is sort of both. she knows alice *very* well, as much as a *servant* can know, but she still believes that alice has no interest in her, and so, she devises a character, one that can express that affection clearly and openly. little does amaryllis know that alice might have an interest in her, but the fear of closeness makes her more closed off. but she lets it show in how sort of territorial she is, as seen in 0:57. alice is a detective, of course she sees that the inspector is charmed by amaryllis! she avoids and dodges any attempt the inspector might make to take amaryllis out, and it's selfish, she knows, but amaryllis is one of the very few people that she enjoys the presence of! we can even see it in how shocked she is that alice stops him!! and after her reveal as the thief, i wouldn't be surprised if they take this as a sort of wordless confession; for alice, evidence that her amaryllis isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and for amaryllis, evidence that alice does reciprocate her feelings!!!! edit: back at it again with queer overanalyzations, if you look at 0:43 and 5:12, the strategy amaryllis uses to catch the item is almost the same! you can even see alice inspect this movement after she catches the gun!!!! the detail work in this film always astonishes me
Speechless grade A+ analyzation

@@KykyYang *Detective Alice and the Inside Game* is Absolutely Amazing and Fantastic! This is definitely and totally one of THE Best of the Best Lesbian Animated Short for the LGBT Community from 2 months ago on Pride Month! 😀😃😄😁👍👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👭👩❤️💋👩🏳️🌈🌈
I LOVE AT LIKE 0:55 ALICE JUST JUMPS DOWN AS HER WIFE MAID IS BEING BASICALLY ASKED OUT
This is literally everything I’ve ever dreamed of in a detective story. The cats, the lesbians, the british victorian setting… it’s perfect. The voice acting is superb as well. This is looks more professional than some shows these days. I’m now praying this gets an actual show!
Disgusting.
Not to mention the amazing music!
Cats, lesbians, and a british victorian setting. Dear God, I could only ask for so much
Maybe try reading Sarah Waters…..
Cats and lesbians, huh?
An old stereotype getting a new fresh look)
M-my god.... Is there a movie or a TV show comin'? I WANT MORE! You did so well, the script, the dialogues, the voicing, the music, the ANIMATION, God is it stunning! You did SO GOOD, I'm literally in love with this movie!
Thank you!!! I really hope there is more!
@@KykyYang you did an amazing job not only at the visual but at the dialogues and writing! I only met them each for less than 10 minutes and i already fell in love with them.
No pressure or anything, i just want you to know, that really, you did an amazing job.
@@Fisinocean same here!
@@KykyYang there’s a feature-length film waiting to be made out of this.
@@KykyYang you can get an immediate popularity boost from rule 34 the second this becomes an actual thing, use this power wisely.
Alice is stronger than me if a pretty girl had sat on my laps while purring those kind of words the inspector would've walked in on another kind of fight I'm telling you
hahaha I love your comment
same tbh
@@KykyYang Horny comment aside tho, I loved this animation, the character's expressions are so good and I love the dynamics of it all, plus the little glimpse of the universe of the story (the duck family crossing the road ? absolutely adorable !) Thank you for sharing your work with us, I had a really great time watching this !
thank you so much for watching and for the love!!!! :)))))))
Kinnie moment
I would give all my limbs, a lung, and a kidney to watch a multi-season animated version of this.
How would you watch it if your vital organs are gone?
@@I.needed_a.handle_name That's a good question. Maybe just my limbs then.
sameeee
How much do we need? Tho i already know it aint cheap
If we get an animated multi-season series of this, someone better make a DVD release of it.
Coming back a year later and realizing there’s a WEBCOMIC?!?!?
My hyper fixation has returned in full force.
WAIT WHAT?!?!😳
LINK!? CAN I PLEASE GET A LINK!
Edit: Nevermind. I found it in the video description. I REALLY need to start reading those! 😂
It's a nice detail how the criminal uses the gun to stun Alice, most cartoons I've seen don't even acknowledge the fact that a gun is pretty damn loud.
Victorian settings, detective stories, cats, and queer romantic tension are some of my favorite things in the whole world. To see them all brought together in the way it was presented was unbelievably satisfying! I want a full series or movie, if you can make it so!
I feel guilty for only commenting on the romance part considering how beautiful the art itself is, but I adore the way you made it work with the story! I can't think about even one thesis film that was able to showcase a dynamic and romance in such a great way! Yay for the lesbian cats.
Yay lesbian cats!
Lesbian furry cat grills is best furry cat gorls
This is a ship i never asked for but absolutely needed
I like this too but I'm kinda wondering, why ouldn't she flirt without stealing stuff? Maybe I'm just a dumbass and missed some crucial info that explains it but it doesn't seem like a very practical coming out, or date.
@@ginogatash4030 I mean Alice is a detective who seems to investigate on these things...
when I heard "I'm just trying to draw someone's attention", i immediately knew it was a romantic ploy
i was NOT expecting the twist and im like "yeah they're going to kiss"
And when they didnt kiss i was freaking crying "NOOO THEY DIDNT KISS"
WLPENESKS
Me too, I wanted a kiss. My English is very bad, sorry. I'm here again! I liked so much that video.
I love how when the burglar catches the gun in the air it mimics the scene from the beginning where amaryllis catches the tea into the cup, brilliant foreshadowing! Also, you can see how Alice is putting the pieces together in her facial expressions after shes sees the burglar catch the gun. This film is wonderful!
I found her shooting the window interesting. It could be seen as her accidentally missing, but it gave the thief a way to escape that she wouldn't have had otherwise. It cements the thief theory that detective Alice really doesn't want to actually catch her. Purposeful but made to seem like a mistake
also absolutely love Bernard and the detective's dynamic, its very fun to watch, poor Bernard he's just so confused
hahaha I'm so happy someone mentioned this! I love them too they are the cutest.
HE GOT THE SPIRIT- HE GOT SPIRIT THAT'S FOR SURE
HE'S SUCH A GOOD BOYYYY
One of the things that I really like is that at the end when the ‘burgular’ as the inspector called her, called our main character of the mini movie or smt Alice, M’lady (love that part btw) she flinched at her eye and upper brow, I absolutely love that detail it truly shows the way Alice has a Thrill for her
Super happy someone caught this detail!
When???????? I keep looking for it please put I time stamp or something idk what you’re talking about
@@Acrylic_User i think it's around 7:05?
@@iamthebleh thank you!!! I didn’t know where 😭 also I kind of misunderstood the comment because it seemed a little all over the place (no offense) so I kind of thought that it meant when she called the detective Alice instead of detective Alice or M’lady or something?? Idk I got confused and couldn’t find it-
So thanks
I like that part too! :D
I also like the part at a little past 5:12 where after all the spinny gun tricks, Alice pauses and does a once over of her opponent and then narrows her eyes. Initially I thought that she just paused because she had a gun pointed at her now and her enemy had the upper hand, but now it looks like that’s when her suspicions started (suspicions about the thief being Amaryllis because of all of her fancy tricks, maybe foreshadowing with the tea incident at the beginning [00:45] too? Idk)
I also especially like when the rose petal lands on her gun and then she tips it and it falls off. Mostly just for the animation purposes, it’s a fun little detail and really pretty (also seemingly meaningless to add, unless you wanna get all gushy about “that’s her letting go and giving up on the thief because she let the petal fall” but I don’t really feel like it Xp)
Also naming the dog Bernard is very funny to me-
It’s just all the little details that you add into these 💀
My favorite thesis film I've watched!! The poses around 4:29 are so perfect and fluid, and the voicing was great! I want more so badly!
thank you~~~
My detective instincts soiled the story for me! I already 'knew' Alice's super adorable maid was the thief! Despite that I loved this so much. If there ever was a a time an animatic was more fun than a full animation, this would be it. Also, I loved the barking sounds made by the police trying to enter the cathedral - so funny.
I was wondering if I was the only one; it was the combination of the near-supernatural dexterity of catching the tea, combined with the seemingly "absurd big brain schemer" aside of the criminal knowing exactly how long it takes for them to deconstruct the clues.
Normally it spoils the story to already know the ending, but the journey itself was a heck of a show; beautiful artwork combined with some perfect voicework (and the excellent choice of casting them)
It helped that even if we (the audience) figured it out, we were still left wondering if our detective would be able to manage the same.
i thought of that too! i literly laughed like a maniac when i saw that the maid was the burgular
It’s been 2 years and I’m still here. this series is so good please never stop
real omg 😭😭
SAME, I CAME BACK TO SEE IF THERES ANY UPDATES AND I CAN'T BELIEVE ITS BEEN 2 WHOLE YEARS WHAT
I miss stuff like this. I love the anthropomorphic animals in the olden days. Plus the tension between Alice and the cat burglar. And to be honest, I have no other words. I also was suspecting something about the cat burglar. And I immediately knew it was her maid. The soundtrack is absolutely outstanding too! I love it
I love how despite there being limited animation, the characters felt so alive with their expressions and the way you portray their character through their body language! You and the VAs did a fantastic job :DD
The cop car filled with police dogs was so funny to me idk why xD lovely art and for a short film the pacing was phenomenal! You managed to introduce so many elements in such a short time and without it feeling rushed. I’m also a sucker for representation and you delivered
Reminds me of Sherlock Hound, which I’m sure it was an homage the creators most likely were going for
@@adrianfernandez2010 I was thinking the same thing! LOL
I believe this scene is a reference to The Keystone Cops.
@@wilsonsandrio7153 That's intriguing! I had no idea of their existence - perhaps its both or just indirect (as Miyazaki was inspired by the Keystone Cops in creating Sherlock Hound's incompetent Scotland Yard)
I liked that too, but only it reminded me of the beginnings of animation at all. When the characters were stereotypes, when everything was just a tad more for the sake of comedy... and, please, what gets more stereotrypical than a cop car filled with barking bloodhounds as british Bobbies.
I feel like I've just watched an entire two season detective show in this one episode in the best way possible. Love the story, love the artwork.
From the thumbnail I thought this was gonna be one of those dark, depressing and emotional student thesis animations with cute animal characters that go through some gut wrenching tragedy.
I, however, did not expect this to be a fun and SPICY furry lesbian romance between a detective and her "nemesis." this has Sly Cooper vibes written all over it and I *LOVE IT*
I really hope you do more with this; it's lighting in a bottle!
Brilliant! I love this so much! I missed the old detective and criminal love hate relationship set in a older timeline. So much fun! Gave me the same energy as Lackadaisy. I hope to see more
Also I stand Alice
hahah thank you
This was such a cliffhanger and a tricky twist. The plot, the design for characters, the voice acting, scenery,... everything is so well made yet seemed unfinished.
I do hope there will be more of your interesting animations. I look forward to them.
Thank you~ I hope so too!
AAWL THIS IS SO GOOD!! THE VOICE ACTING AND THE MOVEMENTS OF THE CHARACTERS I felt intense gay panic in my stomach :o id pay good money to see this as an animated series!
SAME PLS-
Couldn’t agree more
AYOOOO ME FOUR
jesus h christ. This 8 mins short animation got me hooked LIKE IT'S AN ACTUAL MOVIE. the drama and plot is REALLY good, it's very intriguing every second. The artstyle is quite amazing too, I love every detail you have put, it's clean and beautiful. The voice acting, over the top, really well done, the accent of the inspector, to the soothing voice of Detective Alice and Ms. Amaryllis, such good voice acting. I would love to see more of this and your other works in the future!!!
At 5:38 you can see Alice's eyebrows lifting just a little bit, confirming to me the fact that she really doesn't want to catch or harm Amaryllis.
This is absolutely phenomenal!
I’ve been watching this over and over!
ahhh thank you
I've been following the development of this animatic waiting to see the final results, and BOY was it worth it! This is amazing! And absolutely adorable. I was like "Oh, a fun detective without an angsty past? Nice!" and then I watched it to the end and I was like "A FUN *LESBIAN* DETECTIVE WITHOUT AN ANGSTY PAST? NICE!"
haha I didn't know detectives should have angsty past lol

the art style is unfathomable, i would kill for this to be a show i could actually watch. i was so immersed and the romance was a killer! you are amazingly talented, you deserve all the praise and i look forward to your future works!
7:05 i love the slight twitch in alice’s eye. she’s pissed at first but at the end she plays along
This is what Sherlock could’ve been.
Except the drawings, designs, and lady cat lesbians made it 100% better.

Same. Shame Sherlock ended…though I suppose there’s always fanfic if we’re desperate enough.

GAY CATS I LOVE IT! THE TWIST, THE ART STYLE,- EVERYTHING! Amazing!!!
Thank you~~~~~
When the maid caught the tea, I knew she had other skills. When the thief sat on Alice's lap, I made the connection.
okayy what??? i didn't know i needed this but i absolutely did. that "to be continued" better not be a lie.
this was everything i love put into one. cat women, forbidden romance, detectives??? what is this and why does it exist and why isn't there more???
i love the really strong acting in the drawings. storyboards are so fun to watch for that reason: they're always so free and fun and expressive. they don't need color to tell you stories, just dramatic lighting and sick action shots. it feels more like i'm in the scene than if it were a crisp, colored animation -- although i would love that, too.
p.s., i love the shot at 5:56 where she's staring at the gun and petals are falling around her.
this is amazing ♥ well done :)
thank you~
at 1:32 "All we are lacking, is THIS."
shows a _red rose._ you know, a symbol of *LOVE?*
"Her motive."
clever girl....
4:18 ALICE STRAIGHT AS F*CK I WOULD'VE LOST MY MIND 😭
When I saw the roses and Alice saying “the only thing missing is the reason” I already knew what was going to happen, great animation
Past me here spitting facts!

This story has everything to love from the storytelling and characters to the phenomenal art direction and storyboarding!! I love this so so much
AH THIS IS AMAZING! I LOVE THE TWIST AT THE END, AS WELL AS THE STORYLINE AND THE MONOTONE SCENES WITH THE RED ROSE!!! THIS IS SO GREAT GOOD JOB!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH~~~~~
Bro... I did not expect this at all, and I was not ready for Alice to pull a gun, and a lot more things, that subtle eye twitch in the end is amazing, keeps us on our toes, no idea what would happen, just... no words can describe how perfect this is, but one thing genuine question... wtf... like, out of NOWHERE, 4 years of silence on UA-cam, with older videos not getting views anything like this, and then just boom, fucking masterpiece with a To Be Continued ending. Like damn... Instant Sub from me for one thing, but where have you been hiding!!!
This not only genuinely made me laugh and surprised me multiple times, but it did so for all the right reasons, it was all in the little details, and not because of the reveal of it being the Amarryllis, I saw that coming the second I saw the eyes at 3:46. I also somehow missed the title being meaningful so literally, the continuity of how the eyes were drawn alone is what gave it away, looking back it almost seems obvious, but you made Amarryllis important in other ways, she made sense to be the person who opened the door etc, and you didn't focus too long on her so we didn't end up sitting there going, "This character must be important for later", it's so well done. I should stop gushing over this but wow, I aspire to be this skilled at making a short film, only one I managed to make so far for a class project ran way too long and didn't get to the point in time for the audience to understand what was even happening. Anyways I hope you can manage to make a part two, this is amazing and that's an understatement. You also made like every furry on the planet so damn happy, everything about those faces is perfect, so much character, so much emotion, anyways I should stop, you might not even see this lol.
Hi~ Thank you for the nice comments! I wish you the best on your story journey!!!

im so normal about this film, trust me, i would totally not sacrifice my life to see a whole series of this
my friend sent this to me and said "btw look at this sapphic animation i found" (she knows i'm sapphic, she's pan) and i was so mesmerized by the poses, the score, the animation, the voice acting, the art, _everything_, -- that i kinda forgot these are furries/anthropomorphic animals. hooray for the lesbian cats!
This is absolutely beautiful! Everything from the fluid animation, the character design and above all else the writing is top notch!
Also I think the interactions between Alice and Amaryllis were so cute haha
thank you so much~
This is my favorite short film I've seen so far! The characters, the story, everything is just so good! If this were a TV show, I would totally binge it.
Gosh, the artstyle, frames, poses - so STUNNING, beautiful really! And there's even music and brilliant voice acting❤️
I'd just LOVE to see more of Detective Alice's adventures, can only hope there will be some more content about these characters in the future, oh and for an 8 minute film there's a lot of story packed in there! I'm just..speechless...the characters, the story, the GAYNESSSS I love it all so much, THANK YOU, truly, for creating this masterpiece❤️
thank you so much for the sweet comment! I did work hard to make it as packed but still readable.
Utterly captivated and intrigued instantly by the story! The subtle foreshadowing that it was Amaryllis was amazing and the way the frame lingered on her before they left to catch the thief at the beginning actually had me gasp when I realized. Felt exactly like those classic Detective stories that i love so much and was an absolute thrill to watch, in both visual and storytelling aspects. Vibes were immaculate and you have amazing skill. Felt like i was watching a movie enjoyed it greatly! Your work is spectacular have an amazing day o7
On 5:27 I feel like Alice purposely shoots the window to let the "burglar" since she already realized who the burglar is
Completely STUNNING Work on this! Your skill with expression, direction and movement are superb! I look forward to potentially seeing more of this series. If you pursue pitching it to anyone or continue it through self produced animatics.
Thank you! I shall see how to work on that!
Excellent work! Love the character designs, the story and the charming personalities. Definitely one of the best things I’ve seen from this year. I certainly hope to see more of Detective Alice in the future!👌😊
Thank you for the sweet comment!
This is giving me very serious carmen sandiego vibes i will not lie
hahah yes that's one of the badass thief reference
Why is it when people put cats in serious or criminal situations it makes it so much better
this animation is more realistic than alot of animations out there with the gunshot rupturring alice's ears, also love the plottwist at the end
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! the depht of story in just an 8 minute short film is astonishing
Thank you~
I DIDN'T REALIZE THERE WERE VOICES IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE COMMENTS AND WATCHED IT ON SILENT BY ACCIDENT, even the silent version was great enough. I had to rewatch it again. Everything about this animation is amazing!! The plot, the character designs and the art! This is definitely one of the best animations I've ever watched 😭😭😭
I feel like it’s a testament to how good the composition and character animation are that you still liked it when it was silent.
on god. i opened this and i saw the panel structure or whatever you call it and i was like "woag this is cool" and then i saw the characters up close and was like "love the character design" and THEN I SAW THE DETECTIVE AND ON GOD THIS JUST MADE MY DAY. THIS IS NOW THE ONLY VIDEO ON UA-cam FOR ME I DONT NEED ANYTHING ELSE
The slow beat and hold at 6:45 *chef kiss
the stare down between the two gets more tense for me upon each watch fr
like at 5:19 the thief purposefully emptied gun before return because she thought alice would shoot at her immediately
alice figuring out the thief's true identity wouldn't nessecarily mean an immediate spare, even though she shot at the window it could've just been to line up the perfect shot but thankfully she's gay (/not a murderer(probably))
like if they didn't have that ALSO really dangerous and potentially life ending scuffle (for alice to figure it out) would amaryllis have just gone splat at the window scene?? trusting someone who you just chroloformed to NOT shoot you is crazy
for a woman always so careful with her work amaryllis sure does do some ballsy moves like wtf girl you could've died
WOW that was awesome!!! This didn't feel liek a project, i thought i was watching a short made by a studio!!!! The sign of any good art is when you feel immediately immersed and there's no sense of dissonance, and i felt immediately drawn into the world. The voice acting and sound design was incredible!!! It felt professionally produced! I guessed right at the end when teh maid showed up again that IS IT HER...THERE'S NO ONE ELSE, IT HAS TO BE, SHE WAS DRAWN TOO CUTE!!! God the sexual tension, the excitement, i loved it all! Also in love with the art/style! the way you drew them and their expressions was so good....
hahaha thank you for the flattering. yes I was aiming to have her as the cutest! heheheh
Holy crap this is amazing!! I would absolutely love and 100% support turning this into a full animated show!! The poses, expressions and dialogue were incredible!
I could watch an entire movie about them. This is SO good. The voice acting, the story, the art style, the characters. Everything is so good.
This feels like detective and thief romance done right. And having them both ladies makes it a little more interesting, it’s new.
This is absolutely brilliant! The story is fantastic, classy and smart! I have fallen in love with these girls! They deserve their own series!!!
wow, this is really great! i also like the fact that the situation takes place in the "old" times, and not in the distant future or present! i really liked the characters, how everything is depicted and, oh my god, the idea that a simple innocent maid was able to show her other side and skillfully pretend to be an attacker! i really hope to see the continuation of this film, or other films that you make! it's just amazing!!🖤✨🖤✨🖤✨🖤✨🖤
hahaha thank you for pointing out what I really enjoy depicting!
The characters, the voices, the art, ALL OF IT IS JUST BREATHTAKING ❤️❤️ If this was a show i would watch it religiously
NOOOO you totally duped me at 2:18!!! I’m such a sucker. I may rewatch this looking for all the clues.
i’ve watched this live fifteen times every time it comes up again in my recommended i watch it again god this is good shit
Ooh, tension between the protagonist and the antagonist? I'd like that.
I NEEDD this to become a series
I nearly choked on my milk at that plot twist, holy hell O_O This was a ride from start to finish. So inspiring djakcksl
Alice and Amaryllis have amazing chemistry
YUSSSSS
I love both how the animation takes place in an old fashioned London, and the switch from mystery to two lovers game
2:21 i love the ducks crossing the road with their little hats
This is so good! The animation! The foreshadowing! The romance! I love it so much!!!! I was so surprised that Alice knew all along!!! Lowkey that was the more suprising twist for me after getting spoiled by the comments haha. The VAs are also really great!!! A lot of animation VAs can be clunky, but yours were super smooth! Leaving this comment here before you a hit a million views.
so funny to realize that amaryllis is the name of the flower in the letter, so she basically reveals the plot twist in the first scene, but Alice starts making a whole different theory instead
saw a clip of this on tiktok, and immediately, i was drawn to it. the whole thing was romantic really, and i loved it! but that’s not the only reason why i was drawn here in the first place.
watching the full thing reminded me of a story i would make in my head when i was little with my own ocs- except the story was more different but with the same type of motive- a cat that was a detective. well… a lynx, a lynx detective to be specific. who was also a lesbian cat! it’s kind of funny to realize the similarities. as i’m watching this short film, i’m just reminded of how creative i used to be when i was way younger, yet back to how i was reclusive and never wanted to share my own little stories.
watching this film helped inspired me a lot in the moment as a 16 year old sophomore who’s unsure of their future. but the art, the voice acting, the poses, the actions… the characters! they were all really, really amazing. this is definitely one of my favorite “comfort” videos to watch when i’m feeling down, because this whole piece of art made me smile widely.
i wanted to say thank you, in case you the artist/the author ever gets to read this although i don’t think you will. but thank you for inspiring me in realization in myself and my own little stories. i hope i can do something like this one day- an animation of my own.
sorry for this being sappy and long, i’m just amazed and really happy that i discovered this. excellent piece of art.
Hi, yes I read every comment. :) thank you for the story you shared. All the best to your creative journey!
I can't put into words how amazing and beautiful this whole film was! The art style! The sound! The acting! The way everything flowed! It was amazing and all i can do is word vomit about it!
HELP, I WAS LIVE UPDATING MY FRIENDS ABOUT HOW COOL THIS WAS AND THEY WERE LAUGHING SO HARD (i am deranged)
ANYWAY, BRILLIANT WORK?? MY GOD.
You know what this concept reminds me of? Moriarty the patriot. And the writing is just as brilliant, and as ridiculous as it sounds to say so to a short animation, I still love it. Just hits the spot. Thank you for this masterpiece
this is… this is perfection. this is literally everything! the art, the music, the voices, the plot, everything is just so perfect that makes me rewatch this over and over again
The thing is at the beginning, I was already suspecting Amaryllis… something’s just off with her. Later on, during the “fight” scene, I was like ‘ Nah, that is not Amaryllis. ‘ Then, just as I was about to be disappointed with Alice not “catching” the thief, the twist came in and HOW DID I NOT SEE THAT?!? OH MY GOSH AMARYLLIS YOU’RE SO WOKHCYEBFJS. THIS IS JUST PERFECT
Alice has a subtle closeness and solicitude with Amaryllis, and Amaryllis goes beyond her ways to show her thing for Alice… So was this fun? YES. Yes, it is. And I would love to see more of works like these and the Detective Cat Industry. I love everything about it even the cat jokes, the themes and the mini ducks. Final words, *hooray for the cat gays!*
P.S. It gets better on the second watch.
"you were adorable m'lady"
GOD DAMN THAT PART MADE MY JAW DROP LIKE PARDON??
"Amaryllis? Was that...fun?"
I WAS YEETED OUT MY GOD DAMN WINDOW JESUS CHRIST
