So, I have a theory about why the food mutated into living food in the second movie. At the end of the first one, Flint inserts not a kill code, but the video of the cute cat, he didn't destroy the thing, he reprogrammed it, unknowingly. Then we get cute food-animals. Solved!

I mean they used floating bread in the original to escape with people on them as well. It’s normal for them to take some liberties right?

3:00 One thing I just noticed was that somehow the Spray-On Shoes material is missing from where the food was dispensed when it survived the explosion. And it was shown that the material Flint’s shoes are made of are incapable of being torn through or destroyed. The only possible way it could have came off is that the material melts by intense heat, but if that’s the case than Flint would have been barefoot when he survived the explosion otherwise there would be no way the FLDSMDFR could have created the Bugsna- I mean the foodimals

ACTUALLLY! Mark Watney DID stop after his potato farm exploded. All the potatoes froze and thus were unusable. That's why they had that whole rationing montage and how the stakes were so high for the conclusion.
That was when the Hab breached due to excessive wear failure, not when Mark almost blew himself up trying burn hydrazine to water his potatoes. He had to up with a different solution to bypass the excess oxygen he was breathing out.

This movie wasn’t bad. It wasn’t as clever as the first film, hit it was still colorful and fun. The music still slaps and the characters are likable. It’s just a fun animated film

Additional sin: In the first film, the explosion burnt half of Flint’s hair, but here, all his hair has grown back.
And at the end of the last movie his lab had collapsed in the food avalanche and was in pieces on the ground. In this one it's hanging from a tree as if it was still upright and the tree knocked it over.
All movies need an option to skip the recap like Netflix or put the recap as a separate feature in the Blu-ray menu.
