Saturn Manes | SSD Internationals 2023 "The "Love" Of Hades and Persephone"

Disclaimer: Although we were not placed in Internationals 2023, we were very proud of this routine. SSD scored our submission a 91.75, making it a very impactful accomplishment for us. We hope you enjoy SM's final performance as much as we enjoyed putting it together!

The word "Love" is in quotations for a reason. It's a cliche word given an
inconsistent definition with every tale. For the story of these two greek
gods, the meaning of love is up for interpretation.
0:00 - On a fine Midsummer Day, Persphone met a group of Nymphs in
a open meadow. The nymphs were drawn to her natural elegance and
joined her in a spontaneous dance.
1:48 - Without warning, Hades splits the ground beneath Persephone,
causing her to plummit into the underworld after taking an interest in
the young goddess as well. In shock, the nymphs flee in distress. The
furies witnessed her fall and felt the need to intimidate her upon her
arrival into the underworld
2:15 - The goddesses pester Persephone, further stressing her in the
new environment.
2:57 - Hades scolds the furies, forcing them to put a stop to their
mischief. Persephone finds his presence overwhelming and extremely
intimidating.
3:50 - Persephone slips away from Hades for a while to calm herself.
She soon meets the Moirai who comfort her in the foreign realm. The
sisters convince her to meet up with Hades again.
4:54 - Persephone returns to Hades with a calmer state of mind. She
witnesses a mellower side to him that no other god or mortal has seen
before and begins to fall for his charm.
5:26 - Persephone quickly is crowned Queen of the Underworld
5:40 - Soon after, a part of her began to feel guilty about leaving her
old life in the overworld behind for the life. She became torn between
the two lives now must live, as goddess of spring and queen of
the underworld.
