I’m not surprised that you found the only country that does not have bears. I heard the bears left because they don’t like wearing shoes and they expected 12 hours of WiFi for a cup of coffee.
As an Australian, I can assure you that that is exactly why the bears and face biting things left both Australia and New Zealand. Where as we managed to keep all the little things that will kill you. I suspect it is because there are not many devices small enough for spiders, and snakes get sick of bashing the keys with their face.
As a New Zealander, this taught me stuff about the US. Do you guys seriously not have switches on power sockets? Isn't that dangerous? Also, we don't have more stars, just less air pollution.

Ok I’m from nz and you generalised eg ‘ they don’t wear shoes ‘ , of course they wear shoes everywhere, a few don’t , mostly when at the beach or on holiday maybe . sandflys , you make it out like they are everywhere, nope only certain times of the year and generally by rivers , lakes etc . Plug switches definitely a safety feature , we are taught from kids to turn off the switch before unplugging. Unfortunately you had a bad experience at the warehouse, they are not all like that , 1 bad egg in the basket so to speak . You don’t payWave ? Get with it USA ! This is timesaving and fast ! We can also pay by our mobile phone . Tipping is definitely a no no and very hard for us to get used to when we go overseas
Yes, spot on about shoes, sandflies etc. And the stars! Sure the constellations are different, but it's like anywhere in the world, the less ambient light at night, the more stars you see. Also, we can see Orion in the southern hemisphere too.
Lynne Bax why r u sooo offended by what this lady experienced! Your country does have those nasty flies everywhere so who cares??? And we do tip the world around! Most people don’t even know you exist! Get the hell off your high horse by your kids done real shoes and HEAT up your homes!

Hey, I'm from New Zealand and it was so nice of you to make this video. The longer you stay here the faster you get used to New Zealand and New Zealand is an amazing place no bears etc. It's a save place. I hope you enjoyed your trip. Love you guys
1. We have Headhunters and the Mongrel Mob. Also the Killerbeez. Yes, no natural predators. 2. Shoes? Everywhere I go ppl wear shoes, or jandals... you must have been on the beach or in a reserve park. 3. Avoid wifi 4. Sweet as bro 5. Sandflies are evil mutated fruitflies which used the gulfstream to get here from Australia 6. Those switches are handy 7. Watch the sink when you brush your teeth 8. The house of w... go to Bunnings 9. Wait until you go to Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Australia, Japan... all drive on the left. 10. Paywave has a limit
I am from N.Z. and many kiwis will wear jandals. Seeing people with 'no shoes' is subjective. I was also looking for a brown brother or sister as New Zealand is also culturally diverse...
craycray jess ikr, I’ve heard Americans say things like this though. They say it on TV all the time, I’ve even visited the US they still used it. How has this woman not come across any of these words
Travel/reaction vids do well on YT because people like to see comparisons, and showing surprise over things makes for good emotional response on camera. It doesn't mean that you live in a bubble. This vid was really nicely done.
I'm from NZ and I wear shoes everywhere coz wearing bare feet is just gross. But yeah, a lot of people will wear no shoes out haha. Also, the majority of people say sweet as without the bro part most of the time. I got told once we say "aye" a lot lol.

It is not that great here its so cold... but its hot in summer so thats good, btw sand flys are little bastards, always get me when I go fishing XD. I suggest going to Wanaka in summer, make sure you visit the albert town river its amazing... because NO sandflies.
Ok I'm a kiwi (new Zealander) and there are no targets here the warehouse is the best and yea we are known for our amazing stars thanks for noticing nz and not trying to be like all the other UA-cam's trying to pronounce thibgs saying that's the right way to say it and making fun of things or just making wrong assumptions but u didn't do any of those things which is awesome thank u so much for all us kiwis hope u come back soon!!
It sounds like the US are one of the last country to adopt the paywave thing or tap to pay. We’ve had it in Canada for a while. It’s been so long that I signed anything that If I had to scribble my signature, it probably would hardly resemble anything like the one on my card.
The idea of chips being "new" in America blows my mind. I'm 21 and if I was alive when people didn't use chips everywhere, I was too young to remember it.
Yep, I'm from NZ and have been using eftpos since my early teens. Only reason I used cash before then was because you had to be 14 to get a visa/debit card from the bank. Idk if that's still the deal now. I don't even carry cash anymore except for my coin stash in the car for parking meters. I must say, it is a lot easier and faster using eftpos rather than having to count out notes or fish around for that elusive 50c coin somewhere in your pocket while holding up the line at the checkout. Even using the chip and having to enter the pin number is starting to feel weird and 'oldschool' now with paywave and smartpay on our phones
Haha as a New Zealander, I enjoyed watching this! Pretty accurate I must say! By the way, some resturants may ask for a tip when you pay(comes up on the Eftpos machine) but of course you have the choice, which I LOVE! You dont feel obligated. Or sometimes you'll find a tip jar at a bar or cafe (again freedom to do as you please). Also 'no worries' is another common saying. And there are plenlty of free limitless wifi cafes and awesome spots in Auckland! You just got to know where to go. But maybe only it the cities and bigger towns.
There is no tipping at all. The jars that you mostly see on the check out counter is for the CHARITIES, charities for cancer or humanitarian, etc., not tip for the employees
Haha okay. I guess if it's stated on the jar that it's for a charity? But there are tip jars at some of my locals bars and cafes in Ponsony, Auckland ;) (otherwise I would not of metioned it). And there are many resturants there that may ask for a tip when you pay by card.
Natacha is right, there are a lot of cafes in Auckland that have tip jars. Also some restaurants eftpos machines (mainly in the City) do ask if you'd like to tip too - but totally at your own discretion.
Natacha Bay of Islands was the worst a bar there rang a bell every time someone put money into the jar trying to same others into it as well so not Kiwi.
What you need to know about sandflies: 1. They don't like it too cold. So you won't generally get them when the sun is down. 2. They don't like it too hot. If you're in direct hot sun they won't bother you too much. 3. They don't live more than 500 metres (yards) from running water. Unfortunately there's not many places in the NZ bush more than 500 metres from running water, unless you climb a mountain. 4. They can't fly as fast as you can walk. SO: Get up in the morning with the sun. Walk somewhere; climb a mountain or something. Come back to camp at the end of the day when the sun is going down. I grew up in Te Anau, right next door to NZ's biggest national park :)
As a tour guide here in NZ, it's always interesting to see other perspectives and I enjoyed your take. Also, on the stars - you can see the constellation Scorpio here but it's Maori name is He Matau a Maui (the fish-hook of Maui). Maui was a Maori demi-god who used a fish-hook to pull up the North Island (yes, exactly the same as in the movie Moana) and, when he was finished with his hook, he threw it up into the heavens where it is now the constellation.
Another phrase a lot of people say here is nz is "feed". It basically replaces the word 'food' or 'meal' or like what your wanting to eat. Instead of saying 'hey, let's go get some food', we would most likely say 'hey, let's get a feed'.
I'm from NZ, and For the stars there are actually the big dipper and orions belt, its just upside down for half and year and the right side for the rest of the year, and I can see orion really clearly from my house
They've started to, but the "insert card"Chip card units are the most common (Even then - only in the last 5 yrs or so). There are a tonne of (Smaller) vendors that still use the magnetic stripe machines. Back in '97-'99 a LOT of small vendors didn't have card capabilities - even Maccas, in NZ pretty much everywhere had EFTPOS by then.
Great video! I also felt those strange things while I lived in NZ. Haha was so nice to watch the video it made me remember the good times in NZ, missing NZ heaps! Just subbed you to see more of the great videos you make! Thanks for sharing this! -Amelia
As a Kiwi, I can confirm I do not wear public shoes. P.S for the power switch thing....thats not a NZ thing, its a "Most of the World" thing....because most of the world is on 220-240V. Its a safety feature that stops arcing when you plug/unplug things. If you plug things in with the switch on, often you'll see a flash.
Remember footwear for the beach in summer, sun is insanely hot and burning and so is the sand even if the day temperature isn't that hot. If it's overcast as soon as the sun clears it will heat the sand up fast and burn you fast as well
Sweet as bro :D Haha, your first attempts at saying "people don't wear shoes in public places" made my day!! You should come to The Garden Route in South Africa, shoes aren't a must around here either. We also use the word "proper" in SA, have switches on our outlets and drive on the opposite side of the road. Love this video.
maybe you've never been to fiordland though? sandflies are only in particular spots in nz. In places like west arm lake manapouri its almost impossible to breathe as there's so many!
Hey, loved the vid but I though I should clear up some things as a kiwi. Target in New Zealand is a hardware store and if you go to the bigger city’s like Auckland and Wellington you have I’ll find there are a lot more people wearing shoes. But awesome vid and I’m glad you liked your visit !!
Wow, as a person who lives in NZ I was shook when you said that the outlet was different because it had a switch?? Because I thought ALL countries had a switch?? Well, I guess for someone who lived in NZ for their whole life would find these things normal. Also, If a kiwi (what people who live in NZ are called) goes to the U.S would find ALOT of things different.
I’m a kiwi and you had me laughing like crazy all the way through your video. Yes we are a little bit different here, but hey... it’s all “sweet as bro” right? You definitely should have gone bare feet walking - it’s awesome freedom. Maybe next time you’re here!?! Just wondering if you went to see the All Blacks play rugby without shoulder pads and no protective gear? We breed them tough here!
I’m so glad you find it funny!! Some people got a little defensive and nz was my favorite place I’ve ever been! We didn’t get to go to an all blacks game but we did go to a rugby game in Christchurch!!
The stars may be different in the southern hemisphere, but we definitely have Orion's belt! Most people don't carry around much cash. It's pay wave or "tap", Pin for larger purchases. We are one of the few countries that also don't have snakes. Like she said, walk out in the dark, in the long grass and you'll be fine. Nothing to bite you.
1. Paying with an Aussie credit card in the US - I had to sign 2. Having a switch on the power outlet is common throughout much of the world. I think the USA is the odd one out here. Just like feet, miles, pounds and degrees farenheit.
It's on the other side of the sky from the southern cross, just FYI. Orion is on the ecliptic that's why she can see it in the US, the cross is close to the south celestial pole so it's only visible in the southern hemisphere
As a person who lives (and is growing up) in New Zealand This is awesome XD like most of these things I see and know of and it’s just normal for me X3 Btw! Awesome vid!!
1). Paying for stuff, hell you don't even need your credit card to swipe paywave, download app use cell. 2) Epically casual. Ties in with no shoes and not being as differential as some are used to. 3) Kiwi phrases "yeah, nah", "she'll be right", 4) Good coffee...small thing but damn when I was in the US arrggh. 5) Life style, beers/ BBQ/long summer nights of course most everyone else does it, but it could almost be our national pass-time.
very cool!!! im born and bred in Dunedin bottom of the south island.. and just to clarify most ppl wear shoes here, just not as a rule, you wouldnt go out without them, usually if ur just running an errand or 2 or on your way to the beach lol
Internet is heavily capped and expensive in NZ, hence the limit in cafes etc. Feel like I need to set the record straight though - a FEW people don't wear shoes in some public places, mainly university students, but MOST people do. You made it sound like no shoes in public is the norm which simply isn't true. But I do agree about the Warehouse - service is often shit. Blame the low wages and age of part time staff employed.
The paywave thing is totally everywhere here in Australia. When I was in the States, they always got me to sign, but they'd already given me my card back. They never looked to see if the signature matched, so I started signing 'Chicken'. Here in Australia, if they need a signature, they'll hold your card till you've signed, then compare it. Perhaps that's why everything we do here now is paywave up to $100 then pin as well for anything over. Love the vid by the way.
Haha that’s true, I didn’t even have a signature on my card until they made me in New Zealand haha or I’ll right “see id” so they can compare the card to my id!
Yeah they always made me sign in America too but never even looked at my signature. When my American friend came over she had to sign the back of her card so they could compare it. In NZ, paywave is up to $80 and then you need a pin. :)
America has only in the last year or so moved onto chip cards, but even then they've screwed the security of them by not requiring PINs with the chip. The entire retail banking and payment system in the US is at least a decade behind the rest of the world.
Small towns, South Island, and sometimes near beaches but in Auckland I think we're too obsessed with jandals for those kids of shenanigans. I lived in Christchurch from the ages of 9 till 13, I'm pretty sure my brother didn't wear shoes the entire time we were there!
I’m not surprised that you found the only country that does not have bears. I heard the bears left because they don’t like wearing shoes and they expected 12 hours of WiFi for a cup of coffee.
does this make me high maintenance? hahaha
Living On A One Way
No, I like you just the way you are !
As an Australian, I can assure you that that is exactly why the bears and face biting things left both Australia and New Zealand. Where as we managed to keep all the little things that will kill you. I suspect it is because there are not many devices small enough for spiders, and snakes get sick of bashing the keys with their face.
Lol
Greg Gronemeier ahha
As a New Zealander, this taught me stuff about the US. Do you guys seriously not have switches on power sockets? Isn't that dangerous?
Also, we don't have more stars, just less air pollution.
Yep! No switches, we have like half the voltage of you which is why.
Haha true, and you can see millions, it's incredible!
as a Kiwi I aggree
I think we do actually have more stars because we can see more of the Milky Way (and we can see Orion).
Lol more stars lolol like the Americans think theres a different solar system
But we’re also under the Milky Way here in NZ so we have more stars
As an Australian I legit had no idea that powerpoints without a switch was a thing before this vid
Hahaha I should have posted a video of ours, just google US outlet lol
Yeah this is strange
Elyza Lex lol sounds dangerous.
i know right, weird.
And I noticed that when you said "on", you motioned upwards. In NZ, "on" is a downward switch and off is upward.
And the price you see is the price you pay...no hidden costs.
YES!!!!
It’s the way it should be.
.... and the no hidden costs includes tipping, because we have a minimum wage and pay fairly and don't try to stiff employees. Happy staff, happy life!

Same in Europe :) We generally only Tip 50cts or 1€ to thanks the server if we are satisfying by him!
In the other hand we don't have switches on powerpoints and we drive on the right side of the road! Quite embarassing to go on a road trip in New Zealand at the beginning ahaha :)

yeah she really did overexaggerate alot of things lmao.and they went to the warehouse in Birkenhead. thats the worst one.
Yes, spot on about shoes, sandflies etc. And the stars! Sure the constellations are different, but it's like anywhere in the world, the less ambient light at night, the more stars you see. Also, we can see Orion in the southern hemisphere too.

You don't say proper or heaps? And you don't have off switches for power outlets? America is weird
Hahaha it's true its different!
Yea it seems so dangerous, like what if a kid got at it?
i didn’t even know that things like that weren’t international
Emma Sutton Ikr?
there plug sockets are different to .
also, we don’t tip because minimum wage is $16.50 which is a much more liveable wage compared to the us!
No kidding! So much better!
$16.50 NZ is NOT the same as $16.50 US.
NZ's costs / pricing is pretty steep compared to other countries.
Our costs are way higher here , you gotta keep in perspective .
Someone always has to whine^ you two
It's called having at least two brain cells. The prices of food etc compared to the minimum wage are not balanced at all, they're not whining they're speaking the truth.
The only thing you cant get at the Warehuse is customer service.
But it does have all the deals 🙌🙌🙌
*all the bargains
for everyone
Its good in clendon hhahahahahahaha
LifeAsWeKnowIt or shit that dont break
Sorry, the "wrong side of the road" statement is subjective.
haha I know... we do drive on the "right" side... and you on the "left" ;)
To be fair the vast majority of the world drive on the right.
Hey, I'm from New Zealand and it was so nice of you to make this video. The longer you stay here the faster you get used to New Zealand and New Zealand is an amazing place no bears etc. It's a save place. I hope you enjoyed your trip. Love you guys
No snakes either!
PS not the “wrong” side of the road just the other side of the road
You’re 100% right!!
And usa also used to drive on the left till rothschild and co forced a switch.
Stevee_CDN agree
american thinks anything different form america is called wrong.
It's quite simple. The right side is the wrong side, and the left side is the right side.
But there is Orions Belt haha, Orion is one of the few constellations I can recognise haha
Bushy Raps same!
yeah its just upside down and easier to see in winter
Probably whenever they looked for Orion it hadn't risen yet. My favourite is Scorpius.
1. We have Headhunters and the Mongrel Mob. Also the Killerbeez. Yes, no natural predators.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 number 1, why you gotta do the cuzzies like that for aye! crack up
I am from N.Z. and many kiwis will wear jandals. Seeing people with 'no shoes' is subjective. I was also looking for a brown brother or sister as New Zealand is also culturally diverse...
the New Zealand sand fly is easy to ignore just get drunk then they ultimately get drunk with you. lol
hahahahah! This is amazing
The solution to sandflies is Dimp.
Greg Ewing or Goodbye Sandfly, better than Dimp.
Ok a little overkill on the sweet as bro 😂 its a little more chilled than how half of them were saying it!
100% 😂😂😂🙌
I agree, our slang is different but most people don't use it as much and as stereotypically as stuff like this leads you to believe
We so do use it as much as the stereotype.
Hēmi Paterson Possibly in day to day life, my point is that it sounded a little scripted & over-kill with the sweet as 😂
All good Ave, I get ya. Come to think of it, I'm surprised "All good" didn't get a mention.
see in new Zealand we are pretty chill and don't like confrontation in shops so you have to go and stand at the front desk or help desk
Ooooooh that’s funny! Everyone was soooo nice!!
Kiwi here, we do have Orions Belt, you just think we have more stars as we have less light pollution
You guys don’t say “proper” and “heaps”? I thought like everybody said it

mor like the warehouse lmao

A Rookie Mistake.
I live in NZ and we have the big dipper and orians belt. We call it the pot
There is Orion's belt.. most people here call it the teapot.. cause that's what is looks like. It's so interesting seeing what people pick up from nz.
What you need to know about sandflies:
SO:
Get up in the morning with the sun.
Walk somewhere; climb a mountain or something.
Come back to camp at the end of the day when the sun is going down.
I grew up in Te Anau, right next door to NZ's biggest national park :)
Perfect!!
The Warehouse, The Warehouse, Where everyone gets a bargain!
SUCH good bargains!
Living On A One Way and a money back guarantee.
You most definitely can see Orion's Belt from New Zealand...
Gosh..i love the vibe of this video... (public shoes) 😂😂😂
Cool!!!! Hilarious I was thinking “this sounds like Moana!”
Living On A One Way moana being the maori and proto polynesian word for "sea".
Another phrase a lot of people say here is nz is "feed". It basically replaces the word 'food' or 'meal' or like what your wanting to eat. Instead of saying 'hey, let's go get some food', we would most likely say 'hey, let's get a feed'.
Stars... yea we do have the big dipper and orions belt. They're just upside down
To be fair they can be seen more during the summer months.
Also we refer to Orion as the Pot.
I'm from NZ, and For the stars there are actually the big dipper and orions belt, its just upside down for half and year and the right side for the rest of the year, and I can see orion really clearly from my house
yeah it's totally there I messed this up! haah
Living On A One Way lol, its ok
Lol. We don't drive on the wrong side of the road, just the other side lol
I'm from New Zealand and the south island is not cold and the warehouse is amazing
The South island isn't colder than the North?! Strange thats what we experienced in February!
I agree the warehouse is amazing!
As a kiwi... This is 100% correct. Love it!
So glad you like it!!!
Sweet as = All good! Use tiger balm if you get bitten by sandflies.
TIGER BALM?! We had this!!
Living On A One Way Yip its the best & works quickly 😉
Americans don't have "all good" either XD
Mo Mo Not sure what you mean but Sweet as means all good!
I mean you can't tell them that sweet as = all good. They don't know what sweet as or all good means haha.
It’s kinda of frowned apon to tip in NZ... idk it just is. You don’t have to EVER tip in NZ
That’s so different from our culture but it’s nice!
That’s so different from our culture but it’s nice!
We do have the orions belt, just that its more commonly known as the pot in New Zealand (and also its upside down)
LOVE THE VIBE
JUST A NICE PERSON
SETH IS A BLESSED MAN
Yay! Kiwis gather together!
Im from Wellington NZ, we wear shoes 😂 Do you seriously not have Paywave!? And theres bug spray for misquitoes who did you even talk too?
They've started to, but the "insert card"Chip card units are the most common (Even then - only in the last 5 yrs or so). There are a tonne of (Smaller) vendors that still use the magnetic stripe machines. Back in '97-'99 a LOT of small vendors didn't have card capabilities - even Maccas, in NZ pretty much everywhere had EFTPOS by then.
i never really understood the point of the chip cause you still have to swipe the card anyway ? or am i just stupid?
@@taylorcliff6609 The machine reads the chip, you stick the card into the machine. No chip you have to swipe it!
Great video! I also felt those strange things while I lived in NZ. Haha was so nice to watch the video it made me remember the good times in NZ, missing NZ heaps! Just subbed you to see more of the great videos you make! Thanks for sharing this! -Amelia
Ah a good trip down memory lane is THE BEST
Target in NZ is a furniture store 😂
We saw that!!
Thank you!! It's not across the whole country but I LOVED how many people I saw barefoot!
I think the switch IS a great idea!
Remember footwear for the beach in summer, sun is insanely hot and burning and so is the sand even if the day temperature isn't that hot. If it's overcast as soon as the sun clears it will heat the sand up fast and burn you fast as well
A good place that is like target in New Zealand is Kmart.
Hahahahahaha this video cracks me up so many wrong things in this clip i hope u left the place how u found it!! Keep new zealand clean and green!!!
Totally left it how I found it! That was important to us!
Yeah , "poo ping" on the beach is a big "NO NO " …. I still cant believe tourists think that's OK here ? WTF !
I live in NZ and she was spot on. Depends on your viewpoint.
Green like a mobsters thumb lol
Sweet as bro :D
Haha, your first attempts at saying "people don't wear shoes in public places" made my day!! You should come to The Garden Route in South Africa, shoes aren't a must around here either. We also use the word "proper" in SA, have switches on our outlets and drive on the opposite side of the road.
Love this video.
So many similarities!
I live in nz. So cute seeing people’s opinions of nz.
that lady in the bright pink is my auntie....i havent seen her in 6 years. this video is amazing
I never got bit bye sandfly's I'm from nz and iv been here all my life
maybe you've never been to fiordland though? sandflies are only in particular spots in nz. In places like west arm lake manapouri its almost impossible to breathe as there's so many!
just a random person , mozzies, yanks.
We Kiwi's have a slang word for our own shop. Warehouse = Warewhare
Hahaha we do that with target “tarjay”
"whare" is Maori for "house" - plus the "wh" is pronounced "f"
I know that dude, I'm not dumb.
Wat??? It's e as in ear not ey that's more like i, and there's no d you roll the r
oh, see that makes more sense.
Who says it's the wrong side of the road?.....For NZ it is the correct side?
This is priceless to watch
Hey, loved the vid but I though I should clear up some things as a kiwi. Target in New Zealand is a hardware store and if you go to the bigger city’s like Auckland and Wellington you have I’ll find there are a lot more people wearing shoes. But awesome vid and I’m glad you liked your visit !!
TOtally! We were in a lot of rural areas and thats where a lot of people didn't wear shoes
The warehouse where everybody gets a bargain
Nothing to bite you.
ware house is LEGENDARY
Your channel is amazing and so is your uniqueness! Love it. I am going to New Zealand and need wifi for work so thank goodness I watched this video.
Get a pocket WiFi!!
just get a $19 prepaid plan and you don't need a free wifi from the shops.
Just get a cheap 2 degrees sim, then download data clock. Cheap and unlimited. There's a lot of nonsense in this girls video.
Apollonia Ponti learn to spell (new zealand)
It is becoming more common to have free wifi in cafes here. Sometimes you may need to ask if they have guest wifi and they will give you the password.
Just gonna correct you but we do have the dipper, southern cross and orions belt.
we so do have orion, he's just doing a headstand
Hahahaha so many people have commented on this but this one is by far my fav!!!
Cool vid as a fellow Minnesotan I’m hoping to move to New Zealand by the end of this year 👍
Ahhhh so cool, do it!!
I luv yur guys videos and have been viewing them on your travells down under to New Zealand and now abroad great job guys lol!!
Thank you Gary!!
1. Paying with an Aussie credit card in the US - I had to sign
2. Having a switch on the power outlet is common throughout much of the world. I think the USA is the odd one out here. Just like feet, miles, pounds and degrees farenheit.
You’re so right about this!
We do have Orions Belt here its near the Southern Cross.
I know I was super wrong about this lol
We know.
It's upside down bro!
Don't call me bro. What is upside down.
It's on the other side of the sky from the southern cross, just FYI. Orion is on the ecliptic that's why she can see it in the US, the cross is close to the south celestial pole so it's only visible in the southern hemisphere
btw we call the wherehouse the warewhare
id love to hear her pronounce that lol warefar-e?
say whare and ware + roll your r's lol
not everyone :P
lol
Not everyone pronounces "wh" as "f" -- that seems to be a North Island thing.
As a person who lives (and is growing up) in New Zealand
This is awesome XD like most of these things I see and know of and it’s just normal for me X3
Btw! Awesome vid!!
1). Paying for stuff, hell you don't even need your credit card to swipe paywave, download app use cell.
2) Epically casual. Ties in with no shoes and not being as differential as some are used to.
3) Kiwi phrases "yeah, nah", "she'll be right",
4) Good coffee...small thing but damn when I was in the US arrggh.
5) Life style, beers/ BBQ/long summer nights of course most everyone else does it, but it could almost be our national pass-time.
I loooooved nz. Favorite place we’ve been so far!
Ok but I’m actually shocked at the fact that Proper and heaps aren’t used all around the world. They are such common words.
I know!! It make so much sense to use them!
They are. Only usa "english speakers" do not use them.
When she said there wasn’t a lot of crime, I was like “oh haha.. she can’t of lived in New Zealand for tooo long” 😂😂 I’m ded.. no hate
Haha I mean like murder and shooting and whatever other bs we're dealing with in the US it's nutso over here right now!
As in everyday occurences...like getting shot n whatnot, aye Oneway?...
There is Orion in the southern sky, I don't know how you missed it, it is so prominent.
Probably because there are a million bajillion stars in nz sky 😍😍😍
very cool!!! im born and bred in Dunedin bottom of the south island.. and just to clarify most ppl wear shoes here, just not as a rule, you wouldnt go out without them, usually if ur just running an errand or 2 or on your way to the beach lol
I LOVED that!
I was coming here to see what I could correct but you actually made me laugh and I found nothing offensive, good job XD
🙌🙌🙌🙌 yaaas!!! Thank you!
What a legend haha
America has only in the last year or so moved onto chip cards, but even then they've screwed the security of them by not requiring PINs with the chip. The entire retail banking and payment system in the US is at least a decade behind the rest of the world.
Pay wave is good you can pay faster
I feel like Americans get transported to an alternate New Zealand where no one wears shoes. They always say that and it's not true.
the warehouse gets very busy was probably extra busy that day because its popular.
Hey I'm from Auckland and where are these people who walk around with no shoes? Must be in the small towns
In small towns definitely and on The South Island! I loved it
Small towns, South Island, and sometimes near beaches but in Auckland I think we're too obsessed with jandals for those kids of shenanigans. I lived in Christchurch from the ages of 9 till 13, I'm pretty sure my brother didn't wear shoes the entire time we were there!
Papakura in South Auckland is the home of shoeless shopping.
ummmm there is definitely orions belt... lol did you look in the sky????
Haha I didn't look hard enough!
Living On A One Way hehe :p
NZ is my home and im a kiwi
Its my new favorite country!
oh thanx come to rotorua in nz becsuse there are so many things to do
I live here in New Zealand and this video just made my day :)
I LOVE THAT!! SO good to hear!
Being a kiwi hearing these things that are “odd” is weird cause proper and heaps and sweet as are just normal to us
