I was half-expecting the camera to pan up from the painted hood to The Gunman, with the opening scene being the reflection.
Gunny = someone who takes pride in his work awesome trait to have keep up that good work bro
Chuck Norris of painters. He said flow and it did.
More like Bruce Lee
thats what I like to see , great job!!!
8:45 something fell on the clear coat 😂😂
Probably water coming through the line from condensation

Another amazing paint job Gunman, looks like a mirror 😀
Weppa!!! Clarirto te voy jamal de aqui palante
whoa that should be running of like a waterfall!!!
Killed it man😎
Now that's a show quality job right there. All the paint shops in my area can never get it that good. Gonna be tough to find someone who can lay it down like that.
Nice and flat , the way it should.
I saw the purple gun and thought for a moment , damb that 10 dollar Harbor Freight gun lays in down flat.
Ya he does.
Is that really a harbor freight gun?
Daaaammmmm!! slick no buff!
Perfect man..fast job. Clean finishing. 👌👍👍
How in the hell did u not get any runs!???😲 nice 👍🏼 you killed it......
I don't think I would use air while tacking for fear of blowing something trapped in the tack cloth back onto the surface...but hey...it works for him!
Oh it works 😅💦💎
ooooooo my god the guny don't play went he paint .shiiit amazing .hard core gansta
Thats how i do it, I dont wait for it to flash, i just go over twice but heavier on the second pass. Finish1 720 clear. How much clear did you use for that size hood? how many mls?
dude thats siiick
Now that is something to be proud of👍.
Damn clean as hell
Like glass well done .
Whew wee, If that was Sikkens Clear coat ? that stuff would be in the floor .. What clear you spraying a Panel Clear ?
CC 6400 du pont or cromax have that finish in one spray dont have too be second to give you this finish , nice job Gunman :))
Beautiful
That's a glass
🎶Transparent and glasslike 🎶👍💪
How long do you wait between coats? Thanks for sharing your expertise with us! Your the best!
Always follow the TDS for the product YOU are using. Not what he's using. Some brands like axalta clears are 1 and half coats with no flash and others are 2 coats usually 5 to 10 minutes flash. Follow your TDS.
Finish1 720 clear can be sprayed 2 coats flash to hand slick or wet on wet limited flash 2 to 5 minutes between coats. I do wet on wet limited flash, Its like 1 coat but you go over it twice without waiting too long in between.
holy crap! That is nice!
Perfection!
awesome...Germany Looks at you !!!
Like glass 👌🏼
GRASSHOPPER ,WISDOM. THINK PRO,BE PRO....KAHUNA.
Like Glass
Mint !!!!
Great job as always! Can I ask what is the room temperature? thanx
That's awesome 👏
Looks great.
Question.
@ 8:48/49 ish. Was that a small solvent pop about center area near the windshield side of the hood?
I noticed that too.
7:45 i love that man :D
Nice job..this is awesome..
Damn son i was like this man gonna run it lol
jesus saldivar hahaha... I though the same!!... A lot of clear on it... Awesome job.
he's painting in a baked system spraybooth.. This is why there aren't Runs..
What do you mean by run. ?
vag4l vevo when you run the clear or any material, it just means that the contents get a lot of build up in an area, and basically collect and spill/run over. It’s like a raindrop rolling down a window, just with paint instead. If you get the gun too close, or don’t move fast enough, you’ll run it.
Kevin Reyes ohhh ok. Thanks for letting me know I appreciate it. 🙏🙏
Nice one bro.Looks like a mirror,we can shave there.😂
snuckin for some raw vids hope alls well
good job
nice glass only saw 1 speck
How wet was that first coat? Seemed to lay the second on right away. I'd get solvent pop going back to back like that with the clear I use.
dropinbiking92 same
Pretty sure this is a tack and whack clear so it will be fine.
Two fat wet coats is pretty standard for any clear. Most of the spot/panel clears we use are designed for a limited flash application. It's hard to get them slick if you don't put them on back to back. Solvent pop is an operator error problem.
dropinbiking92 yup.3 or4 coats that just wet out,not dry butsmall peel with some flash time seems to work.on a complete where we are really gonna go after it with cutting and rubing4 light, but still wet coats, and start with 800 or 1000 wet.then 1500,2000,2500,and 3000.in most jobs im using a hard bit flexible rubber squeegee, not foam, ans a block, and 1 or 2 of yhese grits will be on a d.a.with a soft backing pad,and those marks give me a "guide coat" for the next grit.
Jason Damron definately correct for production.if you got time, and plan on wet sanding flat, mostly in custom ,more light coats will be a higher build with less peel to take out..but if your doing collision your definately trying to get a clean job in 2 coats so you can match the factory finishes texture..ilolguess im stating the obvious.
Amazing job Gunny!4 turns out the fluid?
+Vasilis Karadimos yes mate
The Gunman RAW Thanks brother!
Qual o compressor qui eles uzao? Nunca no rio vai encontrar profissional a esse nivel so encontra porcao
good job~!!!
what are the settings please. also what tip nozzle size it is
What psi do you recommend on that devilbiss
29psi
Fuckin CRISPYYYYYY
Wow nice paint gun what’s the name of it
How the hell can you spray on so wet and thick and not get a single run?
Flat surface.... easy, only thing to be carful of is solvent popping also making sure the paint gets atomised properly so it lasts
That’s a horizontal panel, don’t worry about runs. If it was a vertical panel, you can not spray this way.
You can spray VERY VERY wet even on a vertical surface as long as the coats are top down and very very even. Just think of it like an ocean wave. The clear cannot flow over something that has the same height and mass more or less. So, you typically only get a run during a wet pass IF you have a heavy wet pass follow by a light pass. Then the 'wave' can flow over the shallow fluid below it. If all passes are relatively even as well as overlap, then there is no way because the level or depth of the clear coat is the same throughout and thus the entire coat flows as a single body giving you a glass finish in one shot. If you have no dust, you can damn near get a show quality finish this way. Almost no wet sanding and buffing needed .... ALMOST..
Easy
36 years autobody.... I would like to see it in 20-30 minutes and see the heavys on the outer edges... also he could be using a Fast reducer and it could be Hot outside or booth temp up abit
Is it bad 6:27 in the clip got half wood
Niceeeeeeeeee
You are pier badass!!!
I have a carbon fiber hood i need to clear coat when it warms up. Do you spray 75% overlays for all 2-3 coats or 50/50 for the first then 75%? And what size tip is recommended? Ive heard a 1.3 tip is used for clear with 28-30 psi.
+Mandy Nicole honestly don't know what % my overlap is, it's just whatever feels right I never measure the overlap but the same should be used for both coats. Yep, 1.3mm tip at 29psi is what you saw me use in this vid for glass results 💎
Standard is 50% overlap but everyone sprays different and has there technique's . Not all clear coat is the same and have limitations compared to others. This guy applied about twice as much clear coat in one coat then I would normally but he clearly know's his limitations with this exact clear. Most clear needs a flash time between coats 15-20 minutes, while others I have used only call out a 30 sec- 5 minutes flash time, This is why this guy is able to go more or less back to back with the coats and does not have any issues as far as runs and application issues. Tip would be 1.3 - 1.4.
Most clears should have 80% to 90% overlap. All products are different. Always follow the TDS for the product YOU are using for proper application procedures.
wow..great liker n great job
Was this quick dry clear?? How did ya put it on so fast and quick??
+JBIRD575 you can spray HS and VOC clears this way
The Gunman RAW ok
Axalta products call for 1.5 coats with no flash.
man thats alot of clear
+rob99rst 550ml 👍
i mean its looks fantastic
on a black car wont make a diff,,on silver or your lighter colors you will get a depth perception problem will throw your color out:)
@@jadelogan9529 tell us more not aware of this!
When you clear over clear it always comes out wet an very glossy . I like to paint an clear then wet sand the whole car with 800 then just re clear will be extra wet
Ya! That mexican flow coat.
nt3523 yes sir
I do the same thing only I use 600 for wet sand but do it dry than flow coat with double wet coat.l use 600 for extra bite makes a big difference down the road.
The Gunman already has a video on this from 2014!!
wet paint might look good , but where is the dry finished job
damn that's HOT It looks like one Giant RUN LOL
Great job.....and I can't help but wonder if that purple gun is a Harbor Freight gun? Just curious.....
There is no way that they need to sand or compound to finish that hood.
Doing great gloss work is all about prep prep prep prep prep and prep. And a really nice booth.
just a fast cut-n-buff and out the door ! hahahahaha just a joke gun man... looks awesome as always flat as glass
+The88katana600 👊💦💦🌊
One of the most satisfying video’s on UA-cam
Been watching all your videos over the last year and I've got myself a small workshop followed your Waze and I'm doing very good thank you for the videos
+Shaun Cook gud shit
i am hard of hearing and close captions sometimes it dont said or different word ... can u pls tell me what cap size and nozzle u use ?? it look nice no orange peel
It looks perfect. That thing doesn't even need to be sanded or buffed anymore. Its mirror perfect. That gun is awesome.
I don’t see anything wrong with the spraying very nice job people who say u sprayed to much must not understand flat surface spraying and years of experience and having a gun that sprays very good. great great job
i think the Standox clear suggests to use the continuous 1.5 coat method.
yo yall seen dude spray that hood he kocked it out box ive been painter for 20 years and this dude still amazez me i thought that shit wasw going run lol😨 for real but nice job brother me being painter as he layed the coats and going back like 4 lay downs i was like yooooooooo he got the rithum😉😉😉.
As I was watching I was like stopppp spraying it's gonna run! And it never did! Lol.
Also, how did your black paint dry in like 15 seconds? Is that waterborne or urethane?
Probably has the oven tempeture set to a certian degree
I don't understand how it does not run off of those lines. I put less clear on and faster and its orange peel and runs..
Wow! Can you actually lay it that heavy on a vertical surface without getting sags?
if you need any painting tools like pps , mixing cup, masking film , just contact me
Ok super 🤩👻👻👻👻👻
Your the man Gunny, that hood looks awesome!!! Beter then factory!!! 👌🏼👍🏼
Wut are sum of the mistakes u used to make and wut did u do to correct them that wuld be a good video. Ur a great painter i started painting backin the day of laquers and enamels things were differnt laquers are sensitive to lifting enamels were cheap but looked good without clear. Today its a whole different story. Thanks for the vids keep on painting
ah. Didn't know their standard clear was a voc. That makes sense than. ha, lost in the terminology. Generally when people in the states, or at least in NY/NJ, refer to a 'standard' clear, theyre referring to an ms clear that doesn't require reducing. A low voc or high solids clear are just called HS clears 9/10 times. Doesn't seem to be much emphasis on the use of low voc in the states outside of California.
Δύο χέρια μαζί ??? Χωρίς να περιμένει ... πώς;
If I wanna flo coat it what sand paper size you recommend?
Why didnt you leave flash off time between clear coats?
I've seen people before say dont tack final base coat, as it can mess up the metallic..? Now i've seen you tack a few. Assume you're more right??
Very nice result.
So can you give some answer?
Do you have a video how to prepare the bonnet / hood for painting? And instructions to get same result?
Lets say i just want to paint my cars hood, it has lots of stone chips and tiny rust sports on some of these chips.
My car is also black.
TIA
Πολύ ωραίο αποτέλεσμα μπράβο πιο βερνίκι της Standox είναι σε αυτό το βίντεο? Το easy 9510..το performance ? Και ποιον Σκλήρυντη αν μπορείς να μου πεις..
Hello my friend, I work in car sprays and I have a problem with vernic gelatin squirt. Wipe the piece well with water before spraying and wipe it with the rag of wiping, but do not give me a good result. The dust collects on the car surfaces and this requires a polishing pasta for the car. What is the solution in order for the car to appear smooth?
One question is it better to buff rubbing compound with foam pads or wool white pads? On fresh clear and how long do you wait to buff if you don't bake it??
I have the Gti pro lite with the t110 air cup. Whats the best air gun set up for least amount of orange pill? I spray in my garage and I live in Arizona.
You really do enjoy that cheap ani gunny.. Thinking about ordering one, I use a 4500 mini for clear only, bumpers, jams, or single panels. Devilbiss SRI for small blends with base or clear its a true work horse. I get the impression the ANI 150 will be in between my sata and devilbiss mini guns
Fucking sick job bad ass painter 👊👊👊👊👊👌👌👌👌
BEEN AROUND BODY SHOPS SINCE 1968 !MY DAD WAS A GREAT PAINTER MY BROTHER AS WELL THEY NEVER LET TOUCH THE SPRAY GUN !NOW AT 59 IM ALITTLE NERVOUS !WORKING AT A SHOP THE PAINTER AND OWNER IS LETTING ME GET ME FEET WET WATCHING HIM IS A LOT OF FUN !AND HARD WORK TO !THANKS FOR THE VIDEO. VERY EDUCATIONAL AND THE FINISH PRODUCT IS OUTSTANDING !HAVE A GOOD DAY !GENTLEMEN!
Gun you must bog that car before you paint some shit.
Which air cap do you have on? T110? TE20? and the more air pressure means the smoother (no-orange peel) finish? btw your videos always make me want to go out and paint some sh*t!
Wooow really dont get how you dont get any clear pileup on the edges. And with no waiting bettwen coats. I use a nitrotherm machine for painting and would get all sort of solvent pop with clear dripping down the edges if i put even half of that second coat over a hood. I mean probably 2 coats wouldnt habe the same thickness as only 1 coat in this vid. It just goes to show how different enviroments and conditions allows for some totaly different techniques. I have been saying for at least 5 years that there is no right technique as long as the end result looks good. Anyways nice vid m8
. its the gun. The fluid control. The fan width. The pressure. Should be around 29 psi. And the Atmosphere. Most old school painters wouldnt attempt a show quality paint Job unless it was 80 degrees outside. Living in Australia its always very warm which helps the clear flow properly. Also its most likely a high solids clear like a quartz liquid glass or a Spies Hecker or PPG d894 all top of the line stuff and well engineered to flash off quick and layup or lay down 30 seconds apart on the coats in some cases.
For best results A Devil is GTI pro lite 1.3 tip size and a TE 20 air cap. I dont recognize this gun used in the video.
Chris Langdell Devillbiss gti pro lite. Nebula. Just a design devillbiss do.
Hey how much psi at the gun and also do you have the material knob all the way open . Thank you and excellent work like glass
Hi Gunman, congratulations. what nozzle did you use? hv30 / TE10 / TE20 / T110 / HV25 1.3 / 1.4? thank you
