We’re tired of hearing that Manila is not safe or dangerous! Are you fm the US? Try Bronx, NY or Chicago at night and compared it with anywhere in Manila. Or try slum in Brazil and you’ll get what you want. Manila is safe compared with other big cities including that of the US.
Hi Feeding Foca! I’m one of the owners of Pot Pot Bulalohan. Thanks for coming to our resto! Glad you enjoyed our dishes. Enjoy the Philippines, it’s a fun place :))
Manila is pretty safe. Violent crime against tourists is almost unheard of, and you don't have nearly as many pickpockets as in Paris, Barcelona, or Rome. I think that the reason foreigners might feel that it is "unsafe" is that much of Manila has a gritty exterior.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! We agree with you, in general it felt quite safe, maybe the most dangerous thing we saw was the crazy jeepney traffic haha. Sadly you are right, we are based in Spain and we feel it, Barcelona and some other popular European cities have huge safety issues, pickpockets everywhere and even violent robberies...
BGC, MAKATI, ORTIGAS, ASEANA CITY, EASTWOOD CITY, NEWPORT CITY, FILINVEST CITY, ARANETA CITY, INTRAMURUS, RIZAL PARK. Other else are ugly places. Don't misrepresent Manila by just going to the ugly places 😊
I don't think we only went to "ugly" places. For us, the Quinta market was very interesting. And I have seen lots of videos where the tourists just stay in Makati and don't even leave it 😒 therefore we wanted to give a broader view on the city. Of course, we couldn't go to all the places but at least we also showed Rizal Park, Intramurus and Makati 😊 but will put your suggestions on our list to come back to 😊
The Old Manila area is quite chaotic but rich in history and good food. For modern conveniences and less chaotic feel other cities in Metro Manila can offer that like Ayala/Greenbelt Makati, BGC, Taguig, Rockwell Makati, Seaside Pasay, Okada/Entertainment City Paranaque etc.
Welcome! Yes, you're completely correct about the food. It's hard to come by good Filipino food here. Honestly, the local Carinderias are a hit and miss because they cater mostly to working class Filipinos so most do not use quality or complete ingredients to keep the cost down. You have to go to reputable Filipino restaurants to really experience authentic and quality Filipino cuisine. And yes, most families here cook Filipino food at home and when they go out, they would rather try other kinds of food like western, Japanese, etc., why there are many of those here. One other thing you need to keep in mind with Filipino food is that it's usually on the salty side because most of our dishes are eaten with rice. The rice balances out the saltiness. "Rice is life!" here. Anyway, glad you liked the ones you tried. :)
Oh thank you so much. I see there is a real deal with rice here. So many people have commented on it 😊 we have even read that due to colonialism the Filipinos were not supposed to sell their own food, but focus on what the Americans like. Therefore, nowadays fast food chains are more common...
Excuse me, alot of foreign vloggers around the world commented that everything is in the Philippines.Philippines have alot of cuisines and resto of it, even american fast foods all in there. You better explore more the country before you do side comment which you might not really personally visited Philippines but only hearing or watching in yutube or in gossip.
Then you will definitely miss what the city of Manila and the Greater Manila can offer like cheap and quality bargains, great recreational outdoors, fancy malls, and cafes. All you need is to do research and ask politely to locals. Some of the interesting places to visit are Intramuros, Binondo, Luneta and Manila Ocean Park, Okada Manila, Manila Hotel, City of Dreams, SM Mall of Asia, BGC, Ayala Makati, VeniceMall in McKinley, SM Megamall in Ortigas, Greenhills in San Juan City, Eastwood City in Quezon City. etc.
Indeed the vlog has lack of research and did not give justice to old manila it self, you should go deep binondo (the first ever chinatown in the world) can offer, you miss the local food along quiapo market. The information were very super facial

7:49 why are you surprised? the Philippines was literally colonized because of "spices", and due to multiple influences from different countries, it's very common for many Filipino dishes to have at least 10 different spices in the ingredients 😆
No, it was not colonized because of spices. Its a common misconception of filipino due to magellans pursuit of finding spice islands. The reason for the colonization is 3Gs. GOD, GOLD, and GLORY.
It's no problem for me if you guys speak in different languages as long as there is subtitle. We Filipinos love to watch anime and Kdramas and we dont do dubs, we only read subtitles and retain the original language. 😊
@@FeedingFoca we call our local shows as telenovelas but it came from mexican tv series (teleserye) like marimar, betty lafea, rosalinda, esmeralda and maria mercedes which was more popular around 90s. I think early 2000 we made our own adaptation of these series. Now, Im not sure what is popular in Philippine local channels as I only watch netflix, disney plus and other streaming platforms nowadays. Even before pandemic, maybe around 2015. I stopped watching TV when UA-cam videos are more interesting than local teleserye. I think that is the era where yt vlogs and content creators are starting to rise.
Im travelling to Manilla near month. I Personally love the place. If your a first time traveller to the Philippines, definitely spend 2 or 3 day's in Manilla. The vibe is unreal ❤❤❤❤❤
Also, pls do not call everything Manila just because you are walking on concrete. Manila is just a small but historic city on the west coast. It's just one of many cities in the NCR (formerly, "Metro Manila"). Pls ask the locals the proper city you are in so you can address properly and not offend the locals. Thanks
Many dishes are somewhat salty and meant to be eaten with rise. In addition, many dishes have to be paired with gravy or sauce/dip. Ask the locals for the appropriate sauce or dip to. pair with the dish
You will only appreciate the whole thing in the Philippines as most foreign vlogger if you explore the country, and considering the very first part you stayed is the most crowded and choatic part of the Philippines. If you first landed and stayed not in Luzon there you will see what Philippines has to offer that alot of foreign vloggers appreciated.
Hi there! Welcome to our country. And Enjoy your stay. We have a Spanish speaking place here in the Philippines, though it is not totally verbatim. . .The language is called "Chavacano" and it is being spoken in Zamboanga City and Peninsula, it is located in Mindanao island. I guess your'e going to Boracay next? . . . Am I correct, if not maybe El Nido or Coron? Anyway we have lots of spots to offer, enjoy every moment. . . "It's more fun here in the Philippines" (and it begins with you.).😊😊😊
Oh this is so nice thank you!! And interesting. I heard about Mindanao, but was not aware that the language is this similar. Will def need to check it out some day. 😊 It is not Boracay 😉
Trying to process ITS NOT EASY TO FIND GOOD FOOD IN LOCAL STREETS? 🤔 If you are picky probably yes but if not you can find it in every corners of manila. You just check it in the carinderia lol
Well we found some in China Town which was tasty, but we wanted to have some local, traditional home-cooked food which was not that easy to find 😊 open for suggestions though
Compare Manila's crime rate with that of downtown Los Angeles and you will see a huge difference. As for chaos and crowdedness, it all depends on what kind of tourists are you. Always remember there's always beauty in chaos and the melee of people doing their daily lives. Here too you will find the debilitating effects of Manila traffic all worth it with the friendliness of the locals. Many good, new developments are bing done to ease the traffic - the subway, MRT/LRT extension, road expansions, and new airports. Come back after 5 to 10 years and hopefully this will have been addressed.
No railway,no modern underpass,no elevated walkways,no good access then you said its modern maybe the correct term is more spacious because the place development is from raw land to concrete jungle.
I'm from the Philippines who live in an island called Boracay but I love Manila even it's Chaotic, it's kinda Fun Chaos to experience away from my Beach place haha so different

Chaos is actually nice sometimes! Thanks for watching!
Go to East java and borobudur temple
Amazing place! I've been there (Li) a long time ago.
7:49 why are you surprised? the Philippines was literally colonized because of "spices", and due to multiple influences from different countries, it's very common for many Filipino dishes to have at least 10 different spices in the ingredients 😆
Haha because it was much tastier than expected! That's awesome, we love food with a lot of different spices.
No, it was not colonized because of spices. Its a common misconception of filipino due to magellans pursuit of finding spice islands. The reason for the colonization is 3Gs. GOD, GOLD, and GLORY.
Thanks for visiting restaurant POT POT BULALOHAN. Maybe next time you could stay in our bed and breakfast near the airport called Courtyard Manila.
U guys must visit Davao and Samal Island, Siargao, Boracay, Cebu and Palawan.
Thanks for this!! You will see two places of this in the next videos 😉 and for the others are on our list for next time. What is your favorite island?
Soy Fil-Hispano. Bienvenidos a Filipinas. Me encanta tus videos. Ole!

Aloha and thank you for watching 😊🙏
You forgot to check out BGC!
Yes, we did not have time and wanted to see a bit more authentic places. But next time for sure :)
🤗.,..👏👏👏🙋♥️🌠🌹🧖🤳
💛
It's no problem for me if you guys speak in different languages as long as there is subtitle. We Filipinos love to watch anime and Kdramas and we dont do dubs, we only read subtitles and retain the original language. 😊
Oh wow!! This is good to know. Do you also watch telenovelas in the Philippines? Very interesting 😊
Interesting! Similar situation for us, TV is long gone and recently we don't even watch Nextflix that often anymore, mostly just UA-cam.
you should visit BGC
Definitely going there the next time! Thanks for watching!
Manila is a mess
🙈
Im travelling to Manilla near month. I Personally love the place. If your a first time traveller to the Philippines, definitely spend 2 or 3 day's in Manilla. The vibe is unreal ❤❤❤❤❤
Next
Nice!! Yes, I think we need to go back and see more of it. Definitely a vibe 😊
Also, pls do not call everything Manila just because you are walking on concrete.
Manila is just a small but historic city on the west coast. It's just one of many cities in the NCR (formerly, "Metro Manila").
Pls ask the locals the proper city you are in so you can address properly and not offend the locals. Thanks
Thanks for the info!
Welcome to the Philippines!!!New follower here
Thank you!!
Feel free to comeback and explore other part of the city. Oh! that's enciladang talong (eggplant w/ shrimp paste) :) Mabuhay!
Mabuhay 😊
Oh yeah...Viajé en bicicleta a Manila. Me tomó 4 días llegar después de cruzar 4 provincias...
Uff. En bicicleta con este calor?? Wow
Many dishes are somewhat salty and meant to be eaten with rise.
In addition, many dishes have to be paired with gravy or sauce/dip. Ask the locals for the appropriate sauce or dip to. pair with the dish
“rise” should be “rice”
Thanks for this!! Very good tip 🙂💛 we will definitely do this next time
You will only appreciate the whole thing in the Philippines as most foreign vlogger if you explore the country, and considering the very first part you stayed is the most crowded and choatic part of the Philippines. If you first landed and stayed not in Luzon there you will see what Philippines has to offer that alot of foreign vloggers appreciated.
Thank you for this :)

If you are picky probably yes but if not you can find it in every corners of manila.
Thank you for your comment 🙏😊
BGC 👈👈IS THE MOST MODERN RIGHT NOW
Arca south Bridgetown and alabang are more modern
Gonna check it out next time! Thanks for watching!
Boracay has to be beautiful!! But yes, Manila is fun chaos. Good summary haha 😅
