I generally hate people. But due to having worked multiple jobs (I'm 26) I realised how illtreated people are in jobs and how it in turn makes high turnovers (changing of staff) and really this is the reason I chose to go into HR. Businesses need to know that the people MAKE the business, and yes they can be replaced, but that just slows down productivity - having to train new people over and over. Rather treat the ones you have now well, reward them, and make them happy to help grow the business. When I'm done studying I'll probably work in a client focused business, such as retail. Do I have use HR against my boss? She was upset I had signed up for a one-person shift. The manager below her rank (a 24/25-year-old man) is supposed to organize and keep an eye on who works which shifts on the schedule. Our boss scolded him for not noticing I had signed up to go solo for a coffee service, I believe. When she asked him if she thought I could do the shift, I answered for him with a firm "yes," because I felt belittled by her. She said she didn't think so, was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen" (something like, that, so I'm not perfectly quoting her), and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. That was very insensitive and harsh, and I think that if she said that to a person with a learning disability, they would be hurt and deem her a bigot. I should've told her that, to make a point to her about tact. Can I go to HR for this?

part-time is a great way to go. If you have time, try for a quality internship as well. Usually the more recognized the company, they better of a signal it sends to future employers.

For the ones who have a bachelors degree in HR and are currently working, does having an HR development degree instead of an HR management degree hurt you in any way? Can I still get the same positions in HR with the development degree?
Its been 2 years for me in UK but i am still searching job. I have 5 years exp. in infosys india in HR operations. Please anyone help me out get into HR job in leeds Uk.
I am a guy and I have a bachelor's degree and a post graduate degree in HRM. I've been working in HR for 4 years now and lately I have been feeling very negative about this industry and I am not sure why. I notice that I get a lot of negative look from others when I say that I work for Human Resources and feel this is strictly a female dominated industry. There are several times that I get excluded from social events and activities just because I am a guy. This is a very tough field for a straight guy to survive based on my experience. Any suggestions or feedback on these negative thoughts? Thanks in advance.
The question you must ask yourself is , do you like this job ? If yes then dont care abt how others look at you... ppl always judge other ppl who are different from others. You are just different from others and keep doing what you love
Do people in the HR sector earn good money, like way above average? I know this may differ between businesses and countries but financial security is very very important to me. Yes, very much so, a plus is that if you get into HR in medical or engineering companies you’ll be able to take out your frustrations every day. They might be better qualified and more important to achieve what the company does but you will be placed between «them» and their ability to get things done!

In the face of difficult times, seize opportunities and make your business work harder. It's not easy, but it's worth it.

Thanks for this vid. Was deciding whether to study hrm or digital marketing even after working in finance industry for past 3 years. I think I'll choose hrm instead since im more about a people person. Thanks for helping me make the right choice
Have you started working in the HRM industry? If so, how is it compared to the finance industry in terms of stress, deadlines etc?
Am I the only one who saw the lady flipping off? 7:36 lol great video, I’m starting my business administration degree today. Great help!
I am going to start studying HR in a couple of weeks.
I have never been good at math, i actually have a diagnosed math deficiency.
So it would be very helpful for me if anyone could tell me how the level of mathematics is in HR 👏🏻 cuz that is the only aspect of this career that still is worrying me
I'm taking this career and hoping to have my OJT in first world country.
Thanks for the information. I’m trying to decide on a bachelors degree in hr or general business .
Useful and clear view of HR Thanks 🌹
this was really helpful
Great video about HR!!!
Excellent content! Thanks.
Only thing I wish HR freshers wud have been paid better so that they feel motivated themselves first.
Should do another video where they don't know they were being filmed. See what their actual answers are.
If you can train a person then you can hire that person. Companies are wasting time when they are going through all the mundane activities of interviewing. Try This alternatively, invite a whole array of people Put them through an inhouse Training program on how to culture a business then ask all the questions you want to see who has the mentality of the boss then negotiate pay patiently then hire
Great videos! Thank you. QUESTION: If given the choice, should I volunteer, intern, or simply work a part-time HR position while in graduate school? I have a part-time job at the moment, but want to build my resume before entering the HR field.
part-time is a great way to go. If you have time, try for a quality internship as well. Usually the more recognized the company, they better of a signal it sends to future employers.
@@TheInternationalHub that's sound advice. Thank you!
My only question is how do you actually get into the hr career
@Hasnayn yeah I was considering sixth form but I feel there isn’t any direct routes to getting into a career related to hr

Do people in the HR sector earn good money, like way above average? I know this may differ between businesses and countries but financial security is very very important to me. Without sounding money-minded, I do want to earn a lot of money. Hence why I've been torn between a career in HR and consulting. Any advice would be appreciated
sxrika-b The HR sector is pretty broad in terms of Recruitment, Talent Acquisition , Compensation/Benefits Training/ Development.
The overall Average salary in HR I believe is around $70,000.

Yes, very much so, a plus is that if you get into HR in medical or engineering companies you’ll be able to take out your frustrations every day. They might be better qualified and more important to achieve what the company does but you will be placed between «them» and their ability to get things done!

Why are you passionate about computer science and what about HR interests you? There's HR roles in data analytics and the demand is growing and will continue so perhaps there's an opportunity to combine both.
I’m currently a junior in college studying sociology, I really don’t know what to do with sociology as a major, I just enjoy it but I started looking and learning about hr. to go into hr would this be a major that employers would over look? Someone please help!
sofia salazar Some companies could care less about what your major is. They are simply looking at if you completed a bachelors or not because that shows that you can adapt and learn in a working environment. They are moreso looking at your experience or interest in the field itself.
Very precise in understanding it. Thank you for sharing the informative video related to HR. Great Job.
