I just got a 2024 MYP this week. My first Tesla. Can you remove this to transfer video clips to your PC and then pop it right back in your Tesla without having to format it or anything? I see you reformatted when you went from the Console install to the Glovebox install. When you reformat it, does it erase everything that was on there?
What's the power consumption marked at the side of the drive. I bough a T7 2TB which let me to format the drive but then disconnects right after. 2TB shows +5V - 1.5A. When I connect it at the center usb I get an error message and M3 starts doing weird things like ghost calling people.
Hi, Having trouble using Samsung T7 500GB for playing music. About 10% of the files play fine (these are all MP3). The rest of the files (MP3, MP4 and lossless) bring up a loading error note. The formatting/preparation was done on my Apple MacBook Air using disk utilities to partition (music = 300 GB and data=199 GB) and ultimately dragging files from iTunes to the "Music" partitioned file. The file formats for the partitions are in MS DOS (fat 33). I have tried restarting my Tesla. I have removed most of the 100 GB of music and left just a few files. I have checked to see if the issue is MP3 formats (while some of the MP3 files play music, most do not and it seems that the older the MP3 file the more likely it is to work/play). I have not yet tried wiping the SSD and starting over. Any suggestions about what is causing the issue?
I purchased the T7 1tb with the rubber housing and will try to install this setup. I format to 500gb and keep the other partition for music drive. Hopefully this will work and keep you updated. Thanks for you video.
Installed a T7 this week in a Model Y. Could not get it to work until I manually formatted from a laptop to exFAT then created the teslacam folder. The in car format tool didn't work.
After formatting the drive in the car you need to plug it into a computer and manually create a file called “TeslaCam” I have the same exact drive, 2tb t7 shield.
I used a Sandisk 500 GB SSD. I formatted it to FAT 32, and again formatted it in the Model S Plaid. Although it works, it gets very Hot?? Anyone have this ?
tried to install my i tb t7 samsung on 2017 model X. gives error on screen and wont format it. any suggestions? maybe format to fat 32 on my mac and then tryin tesla?
wow 10minute video on how to plug a usb into a usb port LOL thanks for sharing
I found it useful, as I am a brand new Tesla owner. And I'm kind of a bonehead when it comes to stuff like this.
Nicely done video. Thanks.
