Hi. I have asbestos in my house. We removed the garage asbestos ourselves spraying water to dampen down the dust and covered ourselves head to toe as well. We also have it in our kitchen so we assume it’s in places where fires are easy started. Just be careful. if its not in your living room, it might be in your kitchen xx

Maybe get a moisture detection device to find the potential leak or have a plumber come out with one.
Oh, Shade, I felt the pain of that leak 🙈 it's the sudden panic of not knowing what to do ? and where it's coming from mixed in with who do we call 🤣🤣 this should be in the curriculum at school lol weirdly, our Stop Cock for the whole house is out on the street. Literally anyone could turn off our water it's quite bizarre. Hope you find the source of the problem soon and all things crossed for no Asbestos 😱😱🤞🤞
Honestly, Claire it’s horrible. Never felt so much anxiety with these issues that just crop up. Especially with something so serious as asbestos too. Hopefully we can get it sorted relatively easily xxx

I do hope you get your problem solved without major upheavals and expense. Your doorbell set my Bichon frise off, but he spent a while trying to work out where the noise was coming from as he realised it wasn't actually ours. 🤣
Contact your home insurance and ask for trace & access and they should be able to detect the leak

We also had the same problem when we moved into our 1984 house. Had a corroded hot water pipe in the ceiling, asbestos in the artez, ended up having the entire ceiling removed by an asbestos expert. New ceiling and plastered. Carpet was ruined so we also had a new floor put in. We went through the insurance and was able to recover most of the costs. I hope you get sorted soon!

@@ShadeShannon yes! Ours was a "escape of water" claim, check out your home insurance policy. Ceiling will be under building insurance and carpet (if needed) is under contents xx

Can you claim off your home insurance? There will be an excess but I know most buildings policies cover trace and access of a leak, putting right what was damaged from this and the resulting water damage. Asbestos testing/removing would be covered also.
My builder was awful for me the amount of bodger plumbers on there are awful, paid twice and ended up spending the weekend doing it ourselves...check a trade recommendations are better. They even took my copper piping without asking as well as my toilet rolls and dust and brush!!! Oww and bucket....
So what happened did you find asbestos in the artex?
Tests came back No asbestos detected xx
Here’s my first advice buy herbs and plants from rubbish shops they thrive well under poor conditions I bought all my herbs in pots from supermarkets then dug a hole outside and planted them 😂and no kidding but there’s so much of everything out there and I only water it from spring til October 😂2 and a half years even my neighbors help themselves to ones out the front thyme mint leaves parsley bay leafs and a few others

Your bags from the council take the code down and then you can purchase the exact ones but about 100 of them different sizes from Amazon for a lot cheaper the bags they sent you will have it on them but don’t buy more than 100-150 because they are compostable and will disintegrate within a year
