@@metatechnologist Woah, there Tex! We don't need Jody winning an Oscar and running off to Hollywood to become "one of the best A-list actresses ever!" We need him right here... er... in Aussiland... where he belongs, giving us awesome watch vids!! So, slow your roll a bit...
Dude I took a vow of silence from leaving comments but after watching your video, I am obligated to leave a comment. You have obliterated the youtube watch community!!!! Tgv is a dust in the wind!!!!!! YOU F-ING ROCK!!!!!!!!!
aw Jody - that intro is just about the funniest and most creative i have ever seen in a watch review - for a moment i was fully expecting Rab.C. Nesbitt to star in your video wearing your modded SKX ;)
Looks great. Well done. One quick note about checking the movement with hands off to see if date and day are aligned and moving correctly.. you don't know if the movement is in the danger zone between 9pm and 3am. Should not adjust date and day if you don't know. I might suggest pulling crown out all the way and advance the hands and see when the date and day change over. Then give it a fair number of advance winds to be sure you clear the danger time zone to further check the day date alignment and movement. That's what I do cause I wouldn't want to risk messing up a brand new movement before the mod project is all assembled and done.
Awesome job, my man! Similar to my skx mod. One tip though, if you install the dial onto your movement (no need to install the hands yet), then install the movement with the dial into the case. Install the crown and stem & screw in the crown to make certain that the movement & dial are perfectly & correctly centered. THEN YOU GLUE IN THE CHAPTER RING! All the while making sure the hour markers on the chapter ring line up well with the indexes on the dial. Allow the glue to cure before removing the movement so there's little to no chance you bump the chapter ring & knock it askew. After removing the movement & dial, you can then install the crystal, hands, etc. Just a tip from my many experiences and mistakes I've made & learned from. Thanks for the awesome video! Thanks for ALL of the videos. You have no idea how much I love my morning routine of coffee, a Begal and "just one more watch" on my phone before I move onto my day.
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.... I didn't even have the heads pace to enjoy the gag. First Jody with a button shirt? Then Jody with a tie? 15 seconds in and I had to pause it to collect myself. 😂 💀
I'm fed up with the non-hacking 7s26 movement and am about to make the same change to NH36 - this is exactly the kind of no-nonsense video I was searching for to use as my guide, thank you for posting. Have to say, the end result you've achieved here looks terrific and has got me thinking of doing other things while I'm at it - nice!
Wow, you made that watch look like 1,000,000 dollars. I really loved the red AR coating, when I can get into modding watches I'm definitely gonna have to try that one out. As always I loved your video, especially the cinema lol
Modding is so much fun! It also funds my regular watch collection.... When I mount the hands, I use a piece of Rodico to hold the hands and manipulate them in position while I press down.
Nice one! I don’t know if house is just more dusty or what but I found myself using the tacky stuff on the dial and inner side of the crystal just to assure that there were no hairs, dust, smudges, etc in addition to the blowing air on it…
Wow I may be late to the party watching this one but I nestled down to relax with a cup of tea and watch the normal intro and proceeded to spit my tea everywhere seeing you in that wig. What a start to a video and the mod wasn't too bad either.
I just absolutely LOVE your videos!! I discovered your channel a few days ago and I,m kind of addicted hahaha plus you encouraged me to try build my own watch (something I have wanted to do since ever). Thanks and keep the great work!!

Great drama. I just love it! I might try to put a lumen bezel and sapphire crystal on my SPR777 Seiko. I will get some cheap watches and practice first replacing crystals and bezels. Old dog learning new tricks. Wow, I can replace the scratched crystal and bezel on my 1977 Seiko. Learning a lot about watches. Thanks.
Looks amazing! I would give that case a heavy brushing. Imho a matte looking case makes the other colours look more vibrant. Brushed is the new polished 😆 I like the rubber endlink strap and the red crystal! 👍

Jody, I stare at Seiko Mod pages in IG all day long. All the things they can do is pretty wild. But, the understatedness of this build is amazing! Love the red AR and that fitted strap.
Very nice mods Jody. I don't have the confidence to do all that myself... So I've just got Steeldive (black dial) and Heimdallr (orange dial) SKX homages, that basically have all of these mods pre-done.
I have a double dome red coated sapphire on my SKX, and it is absolutely delicious :) By the way, you can buy SKX (compatible) cases on aliexpress and elsewhere, this watch will never be truly dead...
LOL 😆 🤣 😂 The second I saw you with that wig and make up, combined with that serious look I laughed SO HARD!! 😂😂😂 Great one 👌 👍 I kept my 007 original except swapping the movement to nh36, but I also want to replace the glass for a sapphire.. my hardlex is scratched pretty badly already.
love the resulted purpelish hew, as well as the different colored lume - would have used maybe purple-blue bezel instead of pepsi and a torquise colored silicone strap :)
Hey Jody, I bought a 007 last week based on your last SKX video. Late to the watch game and kept telling myself there are better watches for the now inflated prices, but had to see the real McCoy for myself.
You need to do a video on swapping the day and date wheel fora fully lumed one on a nh36.and also u need to do a video on the casio mtp-sw300 with seiko mecha quartz movement in it.
Great bearded lady Jody 👌🤣. We will always remembered the great SKX. Is this the next giveaway ? Great way to spend the baking hot afternoon here in India. Great work 👍
Hi Jodi..awesome video! Why don't you do video on citizen promaster automatic NY 0040 which has miyota 8203 movement... And compare it with the SKX? I have had both..and i feel the citizen promaster is very charming and keeps more accurate movement! And the looks and history are compelling as it was used my Italian marina militare as well! :)
