From Japan Thank you for your reaction to BAND-MAID. They don't block official videos. On the contrary, they enjoy watching the reaction videos and copy performances. Their songs range from progressive hard rock to acoustic, so enjoy them.
Thank you so much! That’s so good of them, they see the value in having others comment on their amazing work and recreating it, it’s so nice to see when plenty of bands will block anything that uses their music. 🫶🏻
Ignore the gatekeepers. Welcome aboard the Band Maid train. Also, your channel, your rules. You want to pause during a solo, go ahead. You want to talk over the music, fine. You do you.
Thank you so much 🥹 haha yeah I noticed I paused during a solo 😂 I’m like that’s gonna really anger some people I’m sure! Thanks for your support and kind words it means a lot ! 🫶🏻
@Spangelaa If you put Band Maid’s music in front of just one person that would otherwise never have seen them, then you’ve done your job as a reactor. Keep up the good work, subbed.
Excellent reaction to this great band, and yes , they are still touring and putting out new material all the time. If you want to react to more don`t worry, just pick any song, you will not be disappointed !!!
💜💛❤💙💚 Welcome (back) to the Maidiac's Spangela. Great reaction and thanks for giving Band-Maid another chance. First half of 2025 they will do a tour in Japan. We hope for a worldtour next fall. (Europe🤞🤞🤞)
Spangel, Great Job! Whatever criticism someone had of your reaction style, "Screw Them"! Keep up your work. Now, I do hope you will keep reacting to my favorite rock band in the work today. I'm 75 and have seen and heard A LOT of great rock bands in my life. After attending two of their live concerts, I can safely and proudly say that Band-Maid is one of those great bands. You can tell in this video, their talent, cohesiveness, professionalism, command over the audience, and their pure joy of performing before a live audience which even an old geezer like myself admire.
I highly value your comment, after living through a range of musical movements and genres you definitely know good music when you hear it, and I totally agree they are so clean and tight with their performances and bring so much joy to their audience it’s contagious! You’re so lucky to have attended two of their shows! Thank you for your insight, I highly respect your opinion thank you for sharing it with me 🙏🫶🏻
Always happy to see another Aussie checking out BandMaid. We are still waiting to see them hit our shores. The closest we got was during Covid, splendor did an online festival and Band Maid had a set. Fingers crossed that with many hints that the ladies have been dropping for next year we get to see them in the flesh so to speak. Hoping that with a spate of Japanese artists in the last couple of years they are seeing that the support is here and the shows are always fun with Aussie crowds.
Oh my gosh!!! I wondered if they’d ever been here, fingers and toes crossed they make it over here in the new year 😍 yeah we’ve definitely seen an influx of the Japanese artists perform here so surely they’ll be next 🙏 thank you for your support fellow Aussie hopefully we can tick them off our live lists 😊
I am Aussie to and this band is the best band have watched ever , on you tube. yes they are still touring and wish they would come here too. Great review . no problems for me though some people dont like it when guitar solos are interrupted . Haha The Maidiacs are very intense about this band, but for good reason as u see. try Freedom, a great solo awaits you. Blistering talent on show.
Thanks for coming back to them. A lot of folks are mentioning Rinne for a more metal like song. Shambles is anonther one that has a lot of metal elements
Glad you didn't give up on Band-Maid, I subbed with your first reaction based on your comments and still like what you have to say. Most fans will not subject you to hate, even if you don't like a particular song, everyone has different tastes. Keep rockin'
Thanks for trying again. Most Band-Maid fans will love you for it. The two guitar face off is one of the best bits in modern rock in years. Another drummer here- Your fave drummer?
Oh my fave drummer? I think I’d have to say an obvious one amongst drummers- Joey Jordison, Keith Moon and Travis Barker to name a few but I also love Josh Dun and Chad Smith :) yours?
Thank you for reacting to Band Maid again. I hope you are having a wonderful day. This concert was in 2020, right before the pandemic started, if I remember correctly. The concert where the filmed the official live video for "Hate?" was at Yokohama Arena in November of 2023. Please take care and have an amazing week.
First of all, I’m sorry you got some bad comments on your last reaction, it takes courage to come back and do it again. I can honestly say that your reaction was really enjoyable, so well done. I hope it gives you encouragement to react a lot more to this amazing band of incredibly talented ladies. Well done!
Aww sheesh, thank you so much! At the end of it all i understood what they were trying to tell me I just wish they had done it in a kinder or more helpful way, I’m all for improvement I mainly worry about the younger people that make videos and get awful comments and may not know how to deal with them-that makes me feel ill. Thankfully though there was plenty of lovely commenters like yourself who encouraged me to keep going, you are the people we need in this world! Thank you 🙏
I loved that you went with the large screen for us to watch the performance. So many of us do listen for the performance but usually end up looking at a small baox in a corner. Thank you for giving us the bigger picture and I am now happy to mark myself as a subscriber. Let's go enjoy some music together!
Thank you for persisiting with Band-Maid. They are a fantastic band and are worth your time. Don't ever worry about picky Maidiacs. They'll wake up one day and realize they are harming the band they love by attacking reactors in their comments. As one Aussie to another: it's your channel, so your rules. I know what I think about the Maids. I'm interested to know what you think about them. Peace, and good rocking!! 🤘🤘
First, thanks for the effort coming back to Band-Maid again. This band definitely deserves some more chances, but, they won't turn into a metal band, not even for you 😉 There core is hard rock with a lot of delving into different genres, which makes them really divers. For a heavier sound, I'd recommend songs like Rinne, Warning! or From now on. Btw. I saw fotos of Miyako from Lovebites being fishing with Mayu from Nemophila, but none from Band-Maid so far. Maybe you remembered that.
It was cathartic to revisit them because I did really like Hate? ! I’m glad I did :) haha aw damn I’d love if they did turn more metal but I do love their delicate balance of rock and slight pop notes (possibly that could be wrong) oh yes someone suggested Rinne! Thank you I’ll check it out. Oh dear maybe I got the fishing part wrong 🙄 maybe it was LOVEBITES, oops!! Thanks for pointing that out, and thank you for the time you took to comment 🫶🏻
I don't think they mean to come off as negative as they do, they're just really passionate. This was a good reaction and I hope you continue to check out more Band Maid.
Band-Maid fans are usually a pretty chill bunch, or at least have been in the past. This format is what people “expect” from reactions, which says there’s a standard format I suppose. There’s nothing wrong with not conforming to that, although it is what has made it to the top after nearly 20 years of UA-cam. I do applaud you for trying something different through. 😊 I’m also glad you gave the maids a second chance, a bunch of nerds unable to break free of their molds shouldn’t stop you enjoying them, and the live shows are fantastic and the fans you meet in person are cool. They are very much still touring. Catch them when you can!
Yes exactly, I’m still a newbie at the whole UA-cam thing so I’m always looking to improve and I do value the hate comments as underneath they are trying to convey their issues with what I could have done better, some people just need to be more gentle in their approach, there’s people on UA-cam who are very sensitive and may not know how to take such comments. I’m glad I gave them a second chance too, they really are amazing! I’m definitely going to their show should they tour here! Thank you 🫶🏻
I think most people do not consider Band-Maid to be metal. More like hard rock with metal elements. Maidiacs like to say that their genre is Band-Maid and they are the BEST! If you listen to their "Freedom" (live video from their channel), you will see more of a pop-like side to them, but it also has a cool drum solo (you said you were a drummer, so might appreciate this) with a great transition into guitar solo. For something more metal sounding, try Rinne, which I think is very metal except for the chorus, and the aesthetic of their MV is reportedly inspired by a horror movie.
Ahh interesting! Yeah I was finding it hard to label them as purely metal, you’re right they definitely have different elements to their sound. Yes! Someone suggested I watch Freedom particularly for the drums so i definitely will 😄 ohhh Rinne sounds really cool, thanks so much can’t wait to check them out!
It’s definitely a thing across fandoms even those I’m a part of I’ve just never unstood the hostility towards newer fans and the toxicity that can erupt within the fandoms it’s like chill mate! Thank you 🙏
In every group or community there is the 10% “F” factor. No matter how nice and kind and how big a group about 10% are jerks. Sometimes they are more vocal than the majority. Rock on.
Glad you've given Band-Maid another chance, they're awesome! Most of the time their fans are awesome too... As far as friends with other bands goes, I would imagine that is Akane the drummer. She's very outgoing and has one of those personalities that draws people in, everyone wants to be her friend.
Akane is friends with many artist and other bands, as are the other members. Most notably would be Haruna from Scandal, and Haruna from Lovebites. Verified that Asami, Haruna and Midori were at the 10th Anniversary Yokoari show, but it's believed that Fami and Miyako showed up later. And of course, we can't forget they are best friends with The Warning sisters. Miku is very close with Nesmith, a famous R&B singer from her hometown that probably played a huge role early in her career, pre-Maid. He was a big source of support and encouragement early on. It's also known Saiki is friends with LiSA and is rumored that "Hate?' was Saiki's commentary on an event that happened between LiSA and her husband during the pandemic. (not verified.) But the Maids have many friends.
I don't remember your first reaction or the comments on it, but if you get people complaining that you're pausing the video or your inset video is taking up too much space or the music's not loud enough or whatever, just ignore them! There seems to be a small but vocal group watching UA-cam who think that reactions should just be the original video... if they want that, they should go watch the original video!
Some Band Maid Official Live vids are from the same arena/show. I don't know if they still do it, but usually, the last concert of a tour, is in Japan (homecoming), and they record the whole show. Which is shy you see the large screens, massive lights/lasers, ect. (they do not tour with that stuff). They will usually release the show as part of a "Special/limited edition" with their next album. Domination and Hate? are not from the same show, they are on different albums. I apologize it they do not do that anymore, I just know they used to. Fun Fact: Akane, the drummer's favorite drummer is in Maximum the Hormone.
As a maidiac, I want people to enjoy Band Maid. But, I know , "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." Probably, an old American cowboy saying. I am glad that you give stuff a second chance. Band Maid has a large catalog of music videos and live shows. They vary their style enough that I think most people will find some performance that they really like. Here is my short list of suggestions. Overall general performance, "Domination" live. Expanded drum solo, "Freedom" live. Epic guitar and bass call and response, "Hate?" live. Just instrumental, "From Now On" music video or "Onset" live. Speedier than Eddie Van Halen, "Galileo" and "Black Hole" (the later often presented along with "Manners". Acoustic performance: Check out their pandemic Christmas special with just Miku singing and playing guitar with the drummer and bassist on "Sayonakidori " (not the hard all band members on deck live performance). Their quirky sense of changing it up: the "Band Maiko" videos, especially "Secret Maiko Lips;" or their mostly anime video, "Unleash." Collaborations, like "Show Them" with The Warning. As you see, there is plenty of variety to fit your mood.
Thank you for those suggestions! That’s awesome to know they have a variety to satisfy different moods, I’ll definitely be checking them out I really hear the individual instruments when I listen to music so I can’t wait to hear more from the drummer and bassist is particular! And guitarist, she shreds! Thank you 🫶🏻
@Spangelaa If someone hasn't mentioned this yet, the guitarist, Kanami Tōno was just honored by Paul Reed Smith PRS guitars with her own signature model. Only 200 made, all sold out within a day or two despite the high price tag. Only nine artists have PRS signature models, and Kanami is the only Japanese guitarist, as well as the only female guitarist, so honored. I haven't played guitar for six decades, but I know that PRS is now the top brand for many rock artists.
Great Reaction! More please! Hate? (Official Live), Freedom (Official Live), Don't You Tell Me (Official Live), Thrill (MV), Dice (MV). The list goes on and on.
Thank you! The last video I did I partially reacted to Hate? (I didn’t show video and I cut up the audio I wasn’t sure at the time if Band-Maid would copyright the video, they didn’t) but yes I think I’ll have to revisit Hate? And the others you suggested, thank you!
Good on you for having another go. Don't worry about the fussy fans, you can't ever please them all. Thanks for your good work. Though you could put your face overlay smack in the middle of the screen to really annoy @AniMeiGrrl 😀
Firstly....there is no right or wrong....everyone has preferences....accommodating them all is impossible.....honestly....just seeing the smile on your face because of Band Maid is enough for me.....WELCOME to the "pigeon" hole".... "po"....nice work....cya next time
@@Spangelaa The guitar singer red rose name is Miku KobatoMIKU means 810, Kobato means little pigeon so a 810 years old little Pigeon. LOL But there are very professional like documentaires of all the members by Ohrenje
Hi from a fellow Australian. I noticed the fan running above you -- it is hot here too. The band members gather around the drummer to pull faces at her (seriously!) and she pull faces back, generally without missing a beat. She gets a bit lonely at the back so they make sure she gets some attention during the concert. Miku, the founder, liked the idea of "the gap": people see cute maids and expect J-pop -- instead they get hard rock. They love to see surprised faces when they play their first power chords at concerts. Oh, and you already watched "Domination" - but you watched the music video. This live video is definitely better because Band-Maid are usually better live. They are great musicians and they are really great live. If they ever tour Australia, see them. I want to see them live too if they ever get to Sydney. However, there are some music videos I'll recommend: "From Now On" -- a brilliant instrumental, although all their instrumentals are worthwhile. Also watch "Blooming" music video - every band member brought the lead guitarist (their composer) an idea, and she blended them into one great song. And if you are a drummer you MUST watch "Freedom" live -- it has a great drum solo and is mandatory for all drummers to watch 🙂 When Akane the drummer raises her drumstick high, you know you are in for a great time (she also does that in the start of From Now On)
Thank you for all your suggestions! I’ve put them on the list, I’m excited to give everything a listen and even react to a few! Haha yes it’s stunningly hot here in rural NSW! Where abouts are you? I hope this heat wave passes but I know we’re in for a hot summer as per usual 😂 Exactly from their look you’d expect jpop but what a pleasant surprise that they’re not! I love that! Ohhhhh wait so I actually didn’t watch the live of domination!? Oh gosh i can’t believe I stuffed that up! Thanks for letting me know! Next reaction I’ll be more careful and make sure i choose an actual live performance 🤦🏼♀️ thank you for taking the time to comment! 🫶🏻
Pause as often as you need. If all I wanted was to hear the song, I could go to their channel or open my music player. I'm interested in your opinion. Do you hear or notice something I may have missed. Do you enjoy the whole song or just parts of it. That is what I would like to hear. So take your time, pause when you need to. I would ask you to rewind just a bit after a pause, to reset the feel. just hit the left arrow key to go back 5 seconds is enough for most of us. And if you EVER have the chance to see them live, I highly suggest you take it. Their live energy is so infectious and enjoyable that it always seem as if time has compressed and 2+ hours seems like it's just 10 or 15 minutes. And yes the Ladies are still touring. They just announced their Japan tour a few days ago. We are hoping for a European tour announcement along with a tour of places like South America, Australia , a environs. They've done 2 consecutive year of US touring, so while I wish they would come back to the US, I doubt they will, until after they tour the EU and other places. Thank you again for reacting to the Ladies of Band-Maid. I look forward to your next reaction of their music.
No...pause at the right moments! All songs have natural sections and phrases where it might be appropriate to comment. We all know how amazing this live version of Domination is - to pause at the climax of the solo section (coming out of the drum break), which is what this reactor did, is beyond irritating. It indicates to me that the reactor is not listening and paying attention. If the reactor happens to read this, I mean no ill will...please consider this constructive criticism.
"Hate?" and "Domination" are from different tours. It seems to me Band-Maid changes their outfits (Battle Armor) every tour. The "HATE?" LIVE video Battle Armor was introduced in late 2023 as they wrapped up their 10th Anniversary tour and I suspect will continue through 2025, is my thought, I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong. Band-Maid is still touring, in fact they never even stopped even during the covid-19 Plandemic, where they did LIVE PPV studio shows. They spent all of 2024 in Japan so we'll see what 2025 brings. They are now (Sept. 2024) their own company "Maidit Co.LTD" so the girls make all the decisions now. If I may critique, maybe you could put your box in like the far lower corner so as not to block the video, instead of the middle. Cheers
Ohhhh I should have paid more attention to their outfits in this one, thanks for letting me know they change it up! Love that it’s called armour too, that’s wicked. Yessss I’m so glad they’re still touring!! Thank you I’ll take that onboard and figure out a better placement for next video, I didn’t want to cut off the lyrics on this one 😂 I’ll figure out a better location for it next time, thanks so much! 🫶🏻
@@Spangelaa "Sentou fuku" (戦闘 服), battledress, rather perhaps. It used to be they wore the outfits until they literally fell apart (which happened rather quickly given their schedule) and had to be replaced. Fans have asked Kobato about maybe an exhibition of how the outfits evolved? But she has nixed that, pointing out that literally nothing remains of the old outfits. Kobato was asked early, like 2015, by a British music magazine what their ideal rock outfits might be, and stuck to her guns, observing that since they play rock in maid outfits, then maid outfits are now rock'n'roll, so they'll stick with them. That's Kobato's quirky sense of humor - they're on a mission of world domination, while making café maid outfits cool... But if Kobato goes overboard with the "kawaii" cutesy stuff, Saiki the lead singer is kind of the self-appointed guardian of "kakkoi", or cool, and will come down on her like a ton of bricks. ("I would be a dead pigeon then" Kobato once observed in a TV interview, and Saiki sitting next to her just nodded in confirmation.)
@ wow imagine an exhibition! Too bad those battle dresses fell apart 😔 but I think that’s telling of how much they put their all into their performances… truly amazing. Such a cool idea that I wish I had thought of haha love that there’s more to it than meets the eye, at first I was like that’s so cute then I learned more about how they came to wear their battledresses and I’m like hell yeah good on them! Oh that’s too funny, but I like that aspect too that she doesn’t want it to be ‘too kawaii’ I think they’re pulling it off perfectly how they’re styling themselves from what I’ve seen!
@@nomennescio4604 LOL! That funny....I bet MISA would have something to say too... I always wondered about the material they use for the dresses, thinking they would have to be very light, yet seem heavier. When I saw Saiki's ne outfit I thought, she'll never make it at the outdoor festivals in 90degrees weather with that on.
I'm happy you came back to our maids, but you don't owe us anything. Thank you for not letting a few rotten apples spoil the barrel. Build your channel as you see fit. Who the F are we? Faceless nobodies in the ether. You do you, so when you look back you'll still be happy with what you did. Good luck with your channel!
From what I’ve seen from many reaction videos the majority of people prefer the pause and talk format rather than constant talking over the video. The other thing is after a pause go back about 10 seconds or so. Enjoyed your reaction I would just suggest moving your video box further to the corner, again based upon what I’ve seen in successful channels. Also if you move your cursor off the play bar it will disappear.
Thank you for the feedback! Some others suggested these as well I love learning the little tips and tricks, I’ll take all the suggestions and implement as much as I can in the next video 🙌
MtH has been known to block :( . On the bright side BAND MAID has always been known to simply consistently produce great music and adore their fans :) . I liked your opening ... I thought the entire video was going to be done like that ;) . BAND MAID is: Miku Kobato (小鳩 ミク) - rhythm guitar, vocals, PR (Band founder, lyricist ... our flappy pigeon, po!) Kanami Tōno (遠乃 歌波) - lead guitar (musical composer extraordinaire - the princess) Akane Hirose (廣瀬 茜) - drums, percussion (see bananas ... and ramen - the gorilla) Misa - bass guitar (drinks hard liquor and performs without shoes on stage - the barefoot assassin) Saiki Atsumi (厚見 彩姫) - lead vocals ("we dance in the palm of her hand" - Domination - The Queen)
The concept for the band is the idea of Miku Kaboto, vocals/guitar w/the Red Flower. The costumes are to create "the Gap" meaning the difference in What you are seeing Demure Maids vs What you are hearing Hard Rock. It's works!!! Miku is also the primary lyricist. Miku is also playing her Signature "Flappy Pigeon" guitar. Only 60 were made at $5000 a pop! Sold-Out
Thanks, great react! I can assure you that Band-Maid fandom is sane, except for a few stans whom you can ignore. This happens in every fanbase I've ever been part of, once the fanbase reaches some critical mass of people. It's like some mathematical law. Do it your way. Band-Maid is stylistically diverse, but if you're interested in well-written melodic hard rock, I'd forge ahead! If you like the fast lane, maybe try Warning or Hate or Blooming. If you want to delve into a ballad, maybe Daydreaming. If you'd like to have a two-fer that has both blues-style plus prog/thrash, try Manners & Black Hole.
While I know Saki, former guitarist of Nemophila, has said that they know the maids, the only time I've seen anyone from Nemophila go fishing with someone from another band is when Nemophila's vocalist Mayu went fishing with Miyako, guitarist and pianist of LOVEBITES.
Drummer Haruna from Lovebites is best friend with drummer Akane from BAND-MAID. They like to go out and eat. Both are absolute killer on drums. Different styles. The bands also use to go to each other concerts.
Spangela, I read in the comments that Keith Moon was one of your favorite drummers as he and Neil Peart are two of my favorites. May I suggest “Real Existence” (Official Music Video) from Band-Maid because when I watched her playing drums in the background, it reminded me of Keith Moon and Animal from The Muppets. Love the new and improved reaction format. More Band-Maid please!
Great reaction; I hope to see many more of Band Maid songs,so I've subscribed. In reference to touring,I'm surprised they haven't been to Australia and New Zealand. I'm in the USA where they toured in 2022 and 2023. As someone mentioned on Facebook last week, apparently overhead costs limit them somewhat. For example, when they were here, they only brought their guitars and rented the other equipment locally. They don't have large enough audiences like some other Japanese bands have. They were last in Europe in 2018,and many are hoping for a return soon. Some say the political instability there has an impact, but I have no idea as to the truth of that. Anyway,I'm glad to have discovered you and look forward to more Band Maid reactions. There are many to choose from on their UA-cam channel,www.youtube.com/@BANDMAID/videos.
Thank you so very much legend! 🙌 oh that’s crazy! The views on their videos alone would have made me thought they’d pull big audiences all over the world. Yep, it’s a common yet unfortunate situation with many overseas bands struggling to get to Australia in particular because it’s so far away and costs so much for potentially little return 😔 really sucks as a fan! Poor things, I really wish the western media would push bands like these to a broader audience, I literally had never heard of them until some commenters told me about them, that’s sad!
THANK YOU for forgiving the fandom in general for a few bad apples. We Madiacs are mostly just good fun! Subbed based first and foremost on your patience, but also for your interesting comments as well. I hope you do a ton more Band-Maid reactions! I would say that you are right that they rock as hard as any guy band, but I'd go further and say, forget the comparisons, they are doing things in their music in this video and in MANY other songs that nobody does. Yeah, I also love that the "gap" that is created between their appearance and what you might expect a band making these sounds to look like is great in terms of shaking things up. But at the end of the day one thing that makes their music unique is that, while it has the hard sounds you typically hear from male bands, it has feminine sounds at the same time that no guy band has the guts or ability to put into their music. They are my favorite band, not despite being women, but BECAUSE they are women. Bringing things heretofore unseen in rock music. Maybe the band Heart started this back in the 70s, and a few other bands since, but Band-Maid is KILLING it!
I definitely agree with you especially after the warm response I’ve had from fans on this video thankfully there’s a big number of lovely madiacs that outweigh the few bad ones :) Again, very true they are totally doing their own unique thing aren’t they! And me too I love that they ARE women not ‘despite’ them being women and to not fall into a stereotypically female pop genre is even more fantastic, I think back to when I was a little girl and there weren’t a whole lot of female rockers to look up to in the mainstream so I really think that Band-Maid is trying to change that. I really love that I’ve had the chance to be exposed to their music and learn about them! Thank you for taking the time to comment 🫶🏻
Thanks for reacting to our Maids again. I don't think I saw your previous reaction but forgive the people who gave you a hard time. Maidiacs are usually fun and accepting but some get a bit bent out of shape if they think someone is doing a disservice to Band-Maid. I hope you check out more of the greatest band in the world! As far as touring, they've posted dates for the tour in Japan next year but nothing about international yet. I'm assuming they'll tour the US and hopefully Europe for the Maidiacs over there!
Thank you :) it was probably to do with the fact that I said I really liked band-maid but they weren’t my most favourite band ever and I get it that’s like a slap in the face to any fan like what do you mean that’s not the best thing you’ve ever heard!? They do an amazing live performance though and are definitely very good and I’m so glad I’ve been introduced to them! They’re so unique and they go hard I really admire them! Yes I will definitely be keeping an eye on their touring dates it’s sounding like Australia’s in with a chance next year 🤞🏻 thanks so much! 🫶🏻
I feel you, it’s been a long journey of putting my anxiety aside about my physical appearance and even my voice, I still don’t love either of those things but in my job as a music journalist interviewing musicians I have to watch everything back. I’m at a point now where I’m like this is me, I can’t change it the world is just going to have to deal with it! I promise that the things we pick apart about ourselves others don’t even notice. Yes some fandoms are very intense…I get it I’m part of multiple 😂 but yeah the nastiness is never cool
@@Spangelaa thanks for the reply. For the first part of your reply - absolutely right but I don't think either of those aspects you mention are a problem at all. Like you say, others don't see what we do about ourselves. The human condition. Secondly, it's cool you get it. Some people just have no chill/issues. I trust most were their usual welcoming selves or I'll have words with them. As for B-M - they've become my musical crack. Great group of musicians and ladies. Glad you're enjoying them so far. Subbed and hope to come along for the rest of your journey. As a drummer yourself, Freedom (live from this same concert) would be a good listen at some point. Fairly poppy and one of their earlier songs but it's become an anthem of sorts for them, a fan favourite. It also gives the drummer (Akane) the spotlight.
If going into Japanese metal could I be so bold to recommend two for you Hanabie they started off as a Maximum the Hormone cover band very good band. Also Babymetal they are holly unique and talented. Good reaction sorry you were given a hard time before no need to be mean if you don't like video format. Love Band Maid these ladies shred!!!
Great reaction! Since you are all in for great drummers and singers - how about a power trio of sisters? (Rock drummer of the year 2023, amazing singers, skillful musicians, talented songwriters, incredible energy live) - THE WARNING!! They recently did a collab with Band-Maid and share many fans. I highly recommend “Hell You Call A Dream” at their 10 anniversary concert at Pepsi Center, you will not regret it!
You said this sounded familiar. Their music often has really catchy parts, which makes them sound familiar in a way even if you've never heard before. Unlike most bands though, their music is packed with intricacy and constantly changing instrumentals - so it appeals to the average listener and music geeks alike. Enjoy them - they will make you happy whether you like it or not!
Yes, there’s definitely that catchy element to their songs! I think I may have reacted to the song (not the live, I could be wrong) in a previous video..I’ll have to go and check haha I definitely hear and see the appeal! They do it so well 🫶🏻
Dude don’t worry about reacting the “right way” lol there is no such thing. You know how people can be on the internet. If you’re more comfortable chopping videos up than please do so. Sure some bands (like Band-Maid) you don’t really need to worry about the video being taken down, but it’s your channel at the end of the day. Loving what you’ve put out so far either way. Sorry for the dumb folks leaving ignorant comments, happy to see you’ve seen through some of them and found welcoming people in this little corner of the internet. Looking forward to more!
I've been a fan of Band Maid for a few years now. If you want another band to check out listen to The Sixsters from the Ukraine. They're young and survivors of the war. They currently are living in Germany. It's hard to hone down a genre for them as their songs can be very different from each one. Reactors have to find their own formula. There is no right or wrong way, there is only what works for a given reactor. If you are killing it on views and subs and the comment fighting is low, then you are in the sweet spot. If it is only a "listen" and no "reaction" what is the point? We can go and listen to the source video all we want. The general reaction rules are don't disrespect(if you don't like something say it wasn't for you and don't keep asking for punishment by reacting to a given band more than a couple times because that always goes badly) , and if you must stop during solos rewind to the point at the solo's start so you don't kill the flow.
Thank you for letting me know the unspoken rules! I did stop just before or during a solo -next time I’ll rewind it! This video has been so much better on the comments with people giving me feedback to work on 😄
Yeah from what I’ve heard BM is pretty great at not blocking videos, I did get a copyright notification for this one but nothing that hinders the video thank goodness. So upset that MTH completely blocked my video but oh well!
If you liked this video, I'm not the type you like, You should definitely see it I would like to introduce three more girl rock bands. 【Live】Gacharic Spin「TAMASHII」2019 Take My Chance/DOLL$BOXX Li-sa-X BAND - "Looking Up To You" (Official Music Video) (Current KOIAI) NEMOPHILA / REVIVE [Official Music Video], You won't regret it. If you're interested in the songs from 40 years ago that formed the foundation for an all-girl rock band, プリンセス プリンセス “GET CRAZY!” Show-Ya - 私は嵐(Music Video) You can get a good idea of the level of Japanese girl rock bands.
@@Spangelaa Miku Kobato, the band founder tells people she is a pigeon ... as her last name "Kobato" means small pigeon in Japanese. She ends nearly all of her sentences with "po" which is an abbreviated version of "Kuruppo" ... the cooing sound a dove makes. In Japan there is no distinction between pigeons and doves ;) . See my earlier description of the band members. Its her marketing shtick much to the chagrin of Saiki :p .
So I have not seen your original video, but I will start with my constructive criticism. Put your picture-in-picture into the corner - it bothers my ADHD :D (I know, so minor!! :D) I think your react was great. I like reactors who pause, explain or discuss, then move on. Quick comments should have the audio ducked, just like yours is, so way to go there. :) The moment where they "play to the drummer" - they are all making faces at her, trying to make her goof up. They do that all the time, you can see Misa (the bassist) doing it if you look close :D
Thank you! And I’m sorry about that, I wanted the lyrics to show 😂 someone else brought this up too so I’ll definitely figure out a better placement next time, I apologise :) Ohhhh hahaha cheeky girls, I love that! 🤣
Thank you that’s too kind :) it was only a handful and that’s common with every fandom, I’ve genuinely come across some of the nicest people in the Band Maid fandom that uplifted me (like yourself!) I don’t hold a grudge I just know now that when talking about people’s favourite band that there may be some people that hold different views and may believe I haven’t presented that band as well as others, it’s ok to have different opinions sometimes I wish everyone would respect that. Anyway thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart 🫶🏻
Sorry to hear that the fans didn't like your last video..... Let me recommend the band that kicked off the whole modern era of female bands....check out Aldious Dominator live Radiant A at O East.... i think you'll enjoy this.
OOOOOO opportunity! Band-Maid, LOVEBITES, Babymetal will get you the most new subs and views in this format in all likelihood, at least from the Japanese bands (if you care about that kinda thing) This style of reaction video will likely draw more viewers, thought possibly a bit trickier with copyright? Maximum The Hormone are notorious for copyright blocks and strikes unfortunately. Pity as they are amazing. One of the Japanese bands you didn't get to which I think makes for some of the funniest and most interesting reactions is Broken By The Scream. I kinda think of them in terms of energy and vibe as Hanabie + very large quantities of hallucinogenic and stimulant drugs. Them but in this reaction format would be amazing! Broken By The Scream - Rising Sun mv ua-cam.com/video/Ou7i5bUubZs/v-deo.html If it takes a donation to get it done I am happy to :D
I’m a babymetal fan!! It’s so upsetting when bands won’t let people comment on their work, it can be valuable for them too. Usually it’s a third party that blocks the video anyway 🙄 shame because I loved MTH . I’ve seen Hanabie live! They were amazing and so funny! Ohh I’ll have to check out broken by the scream they sound intriguing! Thank you 🫶🏻
You do whatever you want..it’s your channel…if they wanted to hear the whole video..just go to their page…anyway thanks for reacting to the Maids..they are awesome indeed
The Maidiacs can be very direct with their constructive criticism. But they are the best fans, just very loyal to the Girls and Reactors who pan them usually get hopped on. On thing they don't like is interrupting solos based on the old THX Sound "The Audience Is Listening". It says "Shut Up! Kanami Is Speaking". Yes, Saiki had throat surgery. After she got it she wondered why she waited so long. She was so pleased with the results Miku had it done as well. They aren't playing to the drummer, they're making face at her, trying to make her laugh and f*ck up the hard part. It's just a game they play called hengao 変顔 ( へんがお ) means “strange face”. Yes, they're touring Japan right now, though no tours abroad have been announce as of yet.

Hmmmmm.... seems like my comment went missing. I can only hope that Spangela did not delete it. While quite tongue-in-cheek, I was busy praising her channel and letting her know my hopes for her channel. If she did indeed delete my comment, I will admit to being sorely disappointed. I really hope that it's not the case at all, as I do not have a good impression of commentators who want people to hear them out but refuse to fully read and understand what the people are really saying. Please tell me it was not her who did it.....
Hey!! Do you know what’s funny, I went to reply to your first comment and it wouldn’t show up when I went to comment? It was as if you had removed it (which it sounds like you didn’t) or UA-cam hid it automatically? I’ll check in my held comments and let you know, I’m sure what you said was nothing that I would have been upset about! Sorry about this I don’t know why this happened!
Please feel free to write the comment again and you have my promise that I won’t delete it, if it goes on its own then somethings happening so far I haven’t had to remove any comments on this video! :)
@@Spangelaa Heh, thank you. It just couldn't have been you. Honestly, the comment itself is not as important as this fact. I am now feeling a tad unhappy at UA-cam... Ah well, whatever. Looking forward to your next videos anyway!
Thank you, I checked my held comments and there was one from someone else in there and it wasn’t even offensive 😂 I’ll look into more hope it doesn’t keep happening! Thanks for understanding and for your support :)

Thank you for your reaction to BAND-MAID.
Well said, Mr Bryan.😌
Hey, what do you mean ignore the gatekeepers? We have an important job of filtering out the less desirable reactors, ok? 😛😈
Real Maidiacs break gates, we don't tend them. 😉
Excellent reaction to this great band, and yes , they are still touring and putting out new material all the time. If you want to react to more don`t worry, just pick any song, you will not be disappointed !!!

Welcome (back) to the Maidiac's Spangela. Great reaction and thanks for giving Band-Maid another chance.
First half of 2025 they will do a tour in Japan. We hope for a worldtour next fall.

Hello Beautiful lady. Happy to see more Aussie checking out more Band Maid. Welcome back home🤗💛

Thank you 🙏
Much better Spangela!! ❤

Thank you for persisiting with Band-Maid. They are a fantastic band and are worth your time. Don't ever worry about picky Maidiacs. They'll wake up one day and realize they are harming the band they love by attacking reactors in their comments.

Great reaction!!! Thanks a lot!!! 👍🏻👍🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻😃
I don't think they mean to come off as negative as they do, they're just really passionate.
This was a good reaction and I hope you continue to check out more Band Maid.
Cute and smart and strong is okay, right Po? 🕊️ If you are drummer, Freedom live next!
@@bandmaidfanATL lots of recommendations for me to check out freedom live, so I gotta! Thanks!
Thank you 🫶🏻
Very well, welcome again.
Thank you! 🙏 love your name btw 😄

🤭😅😂🤣…… I’m not saying anything, accidentally typing few words here
@MnPofBM Lol. It's ok i can't see those words you're typing.🫣
Be yourself. Don’t apologize. I ❤ Bandmaid and appreciate anyone else who gives them a chance. Thank you. And my apologies. We’re not all idiots.
@@redj59 thank you 🥰🥰 there are some really lovely fans like yourself 😄 every fandom has them I think!
Awesome band, some fans are a little too "crazy" for them. Just ignore them and be real.
It’s definitely a thing across fandoms even those I’m a part of I’ve just never unstood the hostility towards newer fans and the toxicity that can erupt within the fandoms it’s like chill mate! Thank you 🙏
Pausing the video is fine. We want to hear what you have to say. Otherwise it's like talking during a movie. Good reaction. Thank you.
In every group or community there is the 10% “F” factor. No matter how nice and kind and how big a group about 10% are jerks. Sometimes they are more vocal than the majority. Rock on.
Well done.👍👍👍. Akane is one of the best drummers I've ever heard. Her innovation, ingenuity, skill and accuracy are amazing.
Glad you've given Band-Maid another chance, they're awesome! Most of the time their fans are awesome too... As far as friends with other bands goes, I would imagine that is Akane the drummer. She's very outgoing and has one of those personalities that draws people in, everyone wants to be her friend.
Aww how sweeet, she does look friendly! I believe I got the friendship mixed up for Lovebites and nemophilia 🤦🏼♀️🫶🏻
Yes exactly!! I’m like gee it’s not much of a reaction video if I don’t react haha thank you 🙏
Some Band Maid Official Live vids are from the same arena/show.
Oh wow! That’s a great honour, good on her!
Hate was recorded at Yokohama arena in November of 2023. Domination was recorded at Line Cube Shibuya, February 2020.

I hope this heat wave passes but I know we’re in for a hot summer as per usual 😂
Exactly from their look you’d expect jpop but what a pleasant surprise that they’re not!
@@Spangelaa I gotcha on the pip location.
Thank you 🙏 definitely happens in all fandoms, I’m pleased to say there’s more lovely madiacs than not :)
Right after Kanami's great third solo Saiki sings, "Our pulses race together." Indeed! Band-Maid. Domination. Nuff said! Thx, Spangela!
BAND MAID is:
Miku Kobato (小鳩 ミク) - rhythm guitar, vocals, PR (Band founder, lyricist ... our flappy pigeon, po!)
Kanami Tōno (遠乃 歌波) - lead guitar (musical composer extraordinaire - the princess)
Akane Hirose (廣瀬 茜) - drums, percussion (see bananas ... and ramen - the gorilla)
Misa - bass guitar (drinks hard liquor and performs without shoes on stage - the barefoot assassin)
Saiki Atsumi (厚見 彩姫) - lead vocals ("we dance in the palm of her hand" - Domination - The Queen)
Welcome to the fandom! I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
Sold-Out
Love that! Thank you for going into some detail, that’s crazy I’ll have to look into that guitar a bit more! 🫶🏻
@@Spangelaa There are some videos on YT. Search Miku guitar
I got myself confused, I believe it was Lovebites 🤦🏼♀️ oops!
Drummer Haruna from Lovebites is best friend with drummer Akane from BAND-MAID. They like to go out and eat. Both are absolute killer on drums. Different styles. The bands also use to go to each other concerts.
Nice! Subscribed.
Thank you 🫶🏻
Spangela, I read in the comments that Keith Moon was one of your favorite drummers as he and Neil Peart are two of my favorites. May I suggest “Real Existence” (Official Music Video) from Band-Maid because when I watched her playing drums in the background, it reminded me of Keith Moon and Animal from The Muppets. Love the new and improved reaction format. More Band-Maid please!
Oh thanks so much for the suggestion! I'm curious now :D
First time listener great job . Band-Maid is a straight up fun band . Just pick official live videos , you can't go wrong .
😝🤘🔥🔥
I definitely agree with you especially after the warm response I’ve had from fans on this video thankfully there’s a big number of lovely madiacs that outweigh the few bad ones :)
Again, very true they are totally doing their own unique thing aren’t they!
I could never have a reaction channel. Firstly I have a face for radio but secondly the fandoms would do my head in, I have zero patience.
Exactly!! That’s so powerful and I support and appreciate them for that so much! What an inspiration they are to girls and women everywhere!! 🫶🏻
Thanks Spagnela😊
Great reaction! Since you are all in for great drummers and singers - how about a power trio of sisters? (Rock drummer of the year 2023, amazing singers, skillful musicians, talented songwriters, incredible energy live) - THE WARNING!! They recently did a collab with Band-Maid and share many fans. I highly recommend “Hell You Call A Dream” at their 10 anniversary concert at Pepsi Center, you will not regret it!
Ohhh thank you, I’ve been looking for the next band to react to and a few have recommended the warning! Thank you 🙏
Nice reaction :) I hope you react to other Japanese female bands like Aldious, Bridear, Gacharic Spin, Nek! or Nemophila.
They do it so well 🫶🏻
🤘🤘🤘🤘
very well done 🤘🤘
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it! 😄
Do you like it? No?... Yes!! Or?
Okay. Let it be.
Your beautiful. Everyone should be told this.
I've been a fan of Band Maid for a few years now.
If you want another band to check out listen to The Sixsters from the Ukraine. They're young and survivors of the war. They currently are living in Germany. It's hard to hone down a genre for them as their songs can be very different from each one. All the way from pop ballads to punk rock to straight up rock & roll. www.youtube.com/@TheSixsters
hey since your a drummer if you want to see how good akane the drummer actually is then react to Band Maid Freedom official live video trust me you will love it after this concert one of the greatest drumers of all time Jimmy Page said she had to meet her and told her she is one of the best drummers he has ever seen please react tpo this song trust me please let me know what you think

This video has been so much better on the comments with people giving me feedback to work on 😄
LOVEBITES "Soldier Stands Solitarily"
It will change your life.
Yah… MtH normally blocks reactions. I’m not sure how Band-Maid copyright strikes folks but I did hear that some get one BUT most don’t.
Yeah from what I’ve heard BM is pretty great at not blocking videos, I did get a copyright notification for this one but nothing that hinders the video thank goodness. So upset that MTH completely blocked my video but oh well!
Why don’t you check out a Young family band called Liliac they’re lead singer has a heavy metal voice something you don’t hear too often with a female

@@akikohorie4764 oh you didn’t like this video? Or the band? I love Nemophila! Thank you for the other suggestions too :)
Welcome to the Pigeon Hole, enjoy.
Someone catch me up on the Pigeon thing!? 😂
Put your picture-in-picture into the corner - it bothers my ADHD :D
(I know, so minor!! :D)
I think your react was great. I like reactors who pause, explain or discuss, then move on. Quick comments should have the audio ducked, just like yours is, so way to go there. :)
The moment where they "play to the drummer" - they are all making faces at her, trying to make her goof up. They do that all the time, you can see Misa (the bassist) doing it if you look close :D
Thank you! And I’m sorry about that, I wanted the lyrics to show 😂 someone else brought this up too so I’ll definitely figure out a better placement next time, I apologise :)
Ohhhh hahaha cheeky girls, I love that! 🤣
No way to to band maid wrong. I hate that band maid fans were rude to you, from an old master, your beautiful, do you. Peace

It was!! I’m so glad you told me because I love Nemophila and I thought Maximum the Hormone did it well so I’ll be interested in seeing their version!
@Spangelaa Adelaide South Australia 🇦🇺
OOOOOO opportunity!
Band-Maid, LOVEBITES, Babymetal will get you the most new subs and views in this format in all likelihood, at least from the Japanese bands (if you care about that kinda thing)
This style of reaction video will likely draw more viewers, thought possibly a bit trickier with copyright? Maximum The Hormone are notorious for copyright blocks and strikes unfortunately. Pity as they are amazing.
One of the Japanese bands you didn't get to which I think makes for some of the funniest and most interesting reactions is Broken By The Scream. I kinda think of them in terms of energy and vibe as Hanabie + very large quantities of hallucinogenic and stimulant drugs. Them but in this reaction format would be amazing!

Thank you! That was my thought exactly the last time round 🤣🫶🏻
(Many, not ALL) fans of Band Maid and The Warning seem to be a bit obsessive from what I've seen on other reaction channels.

Hmmmmm.... seems like my comment went missing.
