International farm worker and employer talk about how much they mean to each other

- Josh and Anthony work together at TapRoot Farms in Port Williams, Nova Scotia. Josh owns the farm and Anthony is an international worker from Jamaica who comes up during the growing season to help out. The respect and admiration they have for one another is heartwarming. Anthony and his family, and many of the other workers at TapRoot, have hosted Josh in Jamaica. They have a great bond, and yet, thankfully, it’s not unique. Whistle Blower: Very very true. Farmers don't trust Canadian workers. The job postings are for fulfilling govt requirement in order to take in foreign workers. Some farms do take Canadians but only during winter months to do pruning when the Mexicans are not there. Once the foreign workers returns, the Canadians will be laid off. They do re-hire Canadians during the harvest time. The govt turn a blind eye on that.

@@johngta7172 actually that is not true. There are many from India here in Canada just not that specific job. There are many places that hire for Walmart, MacDonalds, A&W. It all depends on what the employer wants and he gets an LMO. A labor market option is applied by the employer. You have to go to your local MP and let them get you in. No one is handed a job outside of Canada they need to find the way. Same way Jamaicans and Mexican does.
