I have to love when an urban logger aka just strictly tree service, thinks they know everything and are better, but funny thing as timber fallers we do both, and we are not strictly bucket bitches that went through a class for a few months and knows everything, sorry but learning in the woods, and learning to climb in the woods and what we do,I've learned how to cut more f'd up stuff falling yarder ground and this is also an industry that no matter how much experience u always learn something new,I have had over 20 years cutting with a saw ,I still miss the 066,and 660

Gordy, you have the best cut scenes on this platform, Grumpy Old Men, Classic!
As my Grandpa used to say, a little spillage won't hurt anyone, just don't let Earl see ya wasting his gas like that, lol!
I know I'm late to this video, but thank you for sharing your thoughts about Jed with all of us, R.I.P. Jed!! 🙏🙏

I am a farmer, but have always hung around a lot of loggers in life. I've been subscribed to several channels like yours and Jacobs etc. Jed was the best teacher ever. I still constantly refer to several of his lessons in Treeson's video "world's best tree felling tutorial". I refer to his sharpening tutorials all the time. He was actually an inspiration that makes me want to call one of my logging friends and see if I can spend a day in the woods with them and see if i can fell a couple tall firs using what I have learned from all of you guys. Last time I fell a tree of any size was over 30 years ago. Just make'n fire wood anymore.
But that is one of, if not THE best sounding 500s I've heard on video. Looked like an awesome day to be out there. Clear skies and cool temps.
I'll be watching for the shirts. And maybe a Jed axe handle if you go that route some day.

Watching older videos of you and Jed on Guilty of Treeson's channel you can really see how you two pushed and challenged each other. That type of friendship is rare and really beneficial. I'm sorry for your loss. On another note I can't wait for the bark box and felling spikes I ordered to come in. You're really living life on another level! I hope you protect that.

I heated with wood for years.. but I was close to an urban setting so it was all leftovers and blowdown. Easy wood. Moved back out to the sticks.. got a big property and now it's not just firewood we're turning 120 timbered acres into something that makes horse and cattle food. I process wood at least a couple days a week.
To the point.. Jed was instrumental in getting me up to speed so that I can do this with some level of proficiency. I know i'm not alone in this. I see the stories all the time. He lost his life.. and it's f*cking tragic.. but I can promise you his teachings will have saved many lives in the long run.
It shows us how even the really top notch guys can get bit. It gives me one more reason to look up and pay attention. To double check my notch. To watch for limb tie or vine tie that I might have missed. To pull my head out of my ass so I can come down off that mountain at the end of the day.
It wasn't just Jed. I'm still learning. Gordy you have been a big part of it too.
So i'm gonna say this.. i'd rather look forward to your next video than "remember" you. Thank you Gordy, and stay safe.
    And thank you Jed.

Sure is terrible news about Jed. I loved watching that dude, was a really nice cool dude. I can only imagine how hard it has been on you and your group. Make the most of
Mike, he sure is a caricature with some bad ass style. I love seeing how well you guys get along, just having fun working. The banter and jokes are fantastic. I have the same thing with my crew and it makes work fun. Cheers again for all you post. Always excited when I get the notification of a new video. Funny how we [people watching] end up feeling like we are mates with y'all because we have hung out for so many hours in the bush or in the shop. Yet I'm over here in Tasmania and never left my country. Basically what I'm getting at is the stuff you put out is special so keep putting it out there.

I have to say all of you blokes are top notch hard workin true blue fellas! If I didn’t spend 15+ years in the oilfield I would of loved to of worked over in your country with you blokes! My dad was in the logging game with two mobile electric sawmills skidding huge river red gum out of the New South Wales forests in Australia and milling it for 30 years. Unfortunately I was too young and born in the wrong generation and never got to do what you blokes or he did. I have the utmost respect for everything you guys do nonetheless and I know all too well about how dangerous it is. Blessings to you all.

This job is full of close calls and no matter how good you are sometimes accidents happen to the best of us and I wish more timber fallers would tell their stories of close calls so the average homeowner can see this job is not a joke and even guys with decades of experience can get hurt or killed and this job is best left to professionals, it may save a life. I love watching your videos man it brings back memories when my father use to do that line of work back in the days with the old 066's 064 & 046's till one day a tree that he was felling threw a branch at him like a spear when it fell to the ground & took him out..Wish I could have kept one of his running saws but times were hard & we had to sell them to make ends meet till one day I found one of his old 064 in the shed with a busted up tank/handle & scored cylinder..Now I am trying to find original parts to fix it for almost 5 years..

Jed waz a christain. Humble ,respected and feared, the lord wich is beginning of knowledge ,been doingvtrees 29 years seen alot of great great men and tree men,he was up there with the best ..his attitude, gratitude, and humble behavior showed his fruits ..as bornagain christain in spirit and water 💦, after work was eating dinner and a video popped up
From Jacob and I heard about .my heart sank and I wept like a baby..didn't not know him personally, but know one GODS people when I see one ,called spirit of truth .only holy spirit has ability to bring conviction to a man, putting him on his knees in tears ,same day had new helper and I was explaining this very issue. And had no idea about jed.praise God for his mercy ..a example to all men that need to repent as God commands because you don't know when your day will come .in any kinda work or life ,death will come and AFTER that the judgement..Jesus said you must repent and be born again in water and spirit .do not be deceived ...love ya,,
