      I only know from the videos but you can tell jed was that secret genius. He seemed to be one of those guys that had a lot of knowledge of TINY LITTLE details that would.make a world of difference in your work. I learned the hinge cut to swing the tree opposite of the lean from watching him. It's a Good lesson for arborists no matter how good how safe and how attention to detail you are.......trees will.always have a hidden safety hazard that nobody will notice and that's just the way it is

      IF YOU DIED TODAY? HEAVEN OR HELL
      THE GOSPEL ( GOOD NEWS )
      Sin is any bad thing that you've done, said or thought.
      Everyone's sinned and because of sin no one can go to heaven.
      Romans 3:23 KJV - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
      Romans 6:23 KJV - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
      God punishes sin with a literal burning hell.
      Revelation 21:8 KJV - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
      Romans 5:8 KJV - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
      Romans 5:9 KJV - Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
      Religion, water baptism, Church attendance or being a good person and doing good works can't save you because no one is good enough to get to heaven, you CANT earn it.
      Romans 10:9 KJV - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
      Jesus says HE is the ONLY way to heaven John 14.6
      The good news is If you TRUST that the Son of God Jesus Christ paid the penalty of your sin which is death by shedding his blood, dying for you, was buried and was raised from the dead on the third day and are sorry for being a sinner turn to God from unbelief to belief and simply call out to Jesus sincerely, if you believe everything you've heard in the gospel and mean what you say you will be saved and can KNOW you will go to heaven. 1John 5:13,
      Here's a short prayer you could say -
      THE PRAYER ITSELF DOES NOT SAVE YOU
      ITS YOU TELLING GOD YOU BELIEVE THE GOSPEL IT HAS TO COME FROM THE HEART.
      "Dear God, I repent as a sinner. I believe Jesus is God, who died, buried and resurrected so his blood can wash away my sins. so I only trust in His blood alone to save me, not my good works, save me from hell in Jesus name I pray; amen."

    You hear of close calls and accidents in this industry, and maybe we all tell ourselves it wont be like that for us,we're better maybe or more careful than those strangers, but when I heard about Jed it was a wake up. If him then anyone. It doesnt seem fair, to be so humble, bright and attentive, to be as good as Jed.

    I am a 78 year old retired fireman, now a full time farmer that thoroughly enjoys watching you tree industry fellows do your thing. The wooded area on our farm, located approximately 30 miles south west of Portland, Oregon contained the stump remains of very large old growth that history tells me was logged in the 1930's. It was great to see you fellows taking on and doing a fine job felling trees in a category close to those of the stumps on our farm. Our stumps ranged from six to ten feet or so in height, with diameters at the cut ranging from 8 ft. to over 12 ft.. After looking at the springboard notches for so many years, this video gave me possibly the closest view of what it would have been like back in the 1930's logging our land. The greatest difference wound be using chainsaws versus misery whips and axes to bring those big ones down. Very interesting and enjoyable video, well done! Nick, North West Farmer

      Reg Coates does the best and biggest trees safely . August brings up # 2. # 3 goes to bucking Billy Ray. As for putting a smile on a ones face BBR gets # 1 hands down August pulls in # 2
      Reg has a dry sence of humor and that ain't changing .
      Reg also gets the safety award for never dropping out of or never getting dropped on by a tree .
      Making bank goes to to August's crew flat out . that dude has been blessed by the one who knows trees better then anything or anyone . All three are great guys to learn from .
      Lets face it , you can learn from anyone if you want to . just my honest opinion and I don't cut trees for money . I have found another good channel to learn from. Be safe and watch out for them giants falling out them trees .

    • @mikesch7672
      @mikesch7672 4 роки тому +1

      Sad what Kate and the cohorts in Salem have done to the logging industry over the past few decades. Tens of millions of board feet of wood rot away every year in Oregon because of the insane policies set up by our state government. Not sure which fire this was but there have been many in the last few years that they could have easily put out when they first started only to let them burn hundreds of thousands of acres and let it all rot. Yet the environmentalists want to blame those of us working in the industry for everything. Sickening seeing all these wasted trees.

    • @BlueBerry-vl4fj
      @BlueBerry-vl4fj 3 роки тому +4

      That's hilarious! You think the logging industry has been ruined by the government?!?
      The government and environmentalists didn't cut all the good timber.
      Private timber company greed is why big timber doesn't exist anymore. Just look at Google maps, the only big forests left are in the state and national forestland. Private timber companies cut fir at 60 years old. What a shame! They put on more and denser growth per year between 100 and 300 years old!
      I'm a hippie and a logger who's been to forestry school and learned much. Our mass clearcutting practices are raising the soil, air, and water temperatures, reducing water mass in the forest causing more and hotter fires, ruining our salmon spawns, destroying elk, bear, deer and every other animals' habitat.
      The only business holding onto forests for more than 80 years and cutting selectively are the government forests.

    Loved seeing the toe board, my pop used to cut timber like that back in the 1940s n 50s like that. Him and his partner used to work the big trees together in new Zealand. They used ropes for hoisting up fresh saws only no safety lines. Then he worked the mill. He was super strong till his heart gave out at 80 yes old.

      The Styx Valley, past the township of Maydena, about 100 kilometres north-west from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia is often damp, cold and foggy.
      It is also home to the world's tallest flowering plant and one of the world's tallest trees - the eucalyptus regnans, often called mountain ash or swamp gum.
      These towering gums are thought to grow to 100 metres or more, with the tallest living tree on record being Centurion in Tasmania at a confirmed 99.6 metres (327 feet). It would be good to see u guys down here to get an eye full of these living monsters.
