Great rock band from the 70's-80's. They had so many great songs such as "Lorelei", "Suite Madame Blue", "Lady", "Renegade", "Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)", "Babe", "The Best Of Times", "Mr. Roboto", "Too Much Time On My Hands", "Show Me The Way", "Don't Let It End", "Why Me", "Borrowed Time", "Rockin' The Paradise" etc.

favorite show story.... Dennis DeYoung, played outdoors, partially covered stage....about ?5 years ago in a small town in Texas. Waited a long time to hear him and it rained 20 minutes before they were to start, and a lot of their equipment needed to be covered and they were worried and they didn't want to play, but we all waited there, in the rain, waited for the rain to stop, and they asked us... will you stay and wait for the stage to dry a bit, we'll only play 30 minutes.... the crowd shouted and cheered, pretty much begged them to play. HE SOUNDED 👏🏿 FREAKIN' AMAZING, voice practically completely preserved after 50 years in the industry.... incredible

As already mentioned this is a shortened video version put together years after its release for MTV. It is live performance visuals with the studio audio. Missing is the instrumental break.
Check out their live performance 19 years after release on their "Return To Paradise" tour in 1996.
Styx has a wide variety of song styles - something for everyone with prog rock, jazz, heavy metal, classic rock, and other elements.
They have multiple songwriters/lead singers, so check out Tommy Shaw("Man In The Wilderness" or "Blue Collar Man") and James "JY" Young("Young Man") songs also (and before Tommy there was John Curulewski and his song "A Day").
Another Dennis DeYoung song to check out would be "Prelude12/Suite: Madame Blue". With the intro. track and multiple movements it has a lot of different things, including heavy metal".

I love your reactions to the music that has been the soundtrack to my life and times 🤘. This was the "radio edit" laid over a concert video, the album version has a more extensive middle-eight. Grand Illusion is an amazing record all killer, no filler as we used to say 😊

First time I saw Styx was March 27, 1976 with Rush opening. Rush were touring to support the 2112 album and even though they were the "opening act", Rush stole the show. Actually there was a "special guest" that actually went on first. The Sutherland Brothers & Quiver and it doesn't surprise me at all if you have never heard of them 😊😊 But Rush became my favorite band that night.

“Suite Madam Blue” is one of my favorites of theirs. It was written for the United States Bi-Centennial in 1976. It was about the things that we were dealing with in the country at that time. It is even more relevant today. With the election coming up, it would be a great time to play it. 🇺🇸

another disappointing radio edit shortened song - lost out on a great amount of music in the breakdown. Heres a suggestion - when you're doing the song research, look up the length of the song on the studio album and compare to the video you're gonna play. So many songs you and other reactors wind up hearing the shortened version.
