Can this be triggered from a neck injury ? I had a neck/ lower back injury and immediately felt neck pain and headache . That had been constant . A week later I started getting a severe tooth ache to the point I went to the ER and was given antibiotics. I also had a severe ear infection PAIN. After getting checked by the dentist and my doctor ZERO tooth issues and zero ear infection . I have constant headaches on the injured side , constant neck pain on the injured side & have been getting this debilitating pain all at once in my tooth , ear and temple that is the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life ! During the episode all I can think about is running in front of a car to end the stabbing pain. My work comp doctor is not advocating for me and I am severely hurting . The stabbing pain episodes are every few days. It is debilitating when it happens I am screaming and crying and almost called 911 a few times because I didn't know what was happening. I don't know what is happening 😢 I need help I'm between episodes is it common to have constant neck pain and headaches ? Does this sound like I developed TN ?
certainly can be triggered by a neck injury. This is why these issues often require a joint approach to correction including dental, chiropractic, neurologist, etc...
@@spinewiseYT hopefully i can get my work comp doctor to advocate for me to investigate. I havent had an "episode" in about a week does that mean it fixed itself ?
@@spinewiseYT I am for now hopefully it stays that way, thanks for uour replies! While dormant would it still show up on mri ? Im hopeing to get this all documented before they close my case
Very helpful video. I couldn't quite catch the names of the potential supplements/drugs that can help. Would like to share this info with my doctor. I have all the symptoms you list. The pain is constant and noise sends it through the roof. Began after prolonged dental work and infection. Many thanks from Canada. Also are you aware of any injections that could help?
Great video. I had complex Ramsay Hunt that came out on the trigeminal nerve and facial nerve 3 years ago. Facial nerve has healed 90% still some intermittent palsy. Trigeminal nerve did not heal and I have chronic pain. I have a pain consultant who has diagnosed post herpetic trigeminal neuropathy, but my neurologist has said it's actually post herpetic trigeminal neuralgia (he's a leading expert on facial pain). Rather than simple PHN he said it was trigeminal neuralgia triggered by the herpetic infection as my symptoms are much more like trigeminal neuralgia. I have shocks (TN1) and constant burning and aching pain (TN2). Do you think it could be possible that the shocks are trigeminal neuralgia and the constant pain is neuropathy. Do the two cross over? I've had some success in controlling the pain with a cocktail of lamotragine, pregablin, and lidocaine infusions. I'm getting pulses radio frequency treatment next week, 🤞🏻
@amycollins3512 is it is possible to have a combination of the two. You're human so your entitled to have multiple things at the same time. There is some good research coming through on pulse RF. It can be used to reset genetic expression of the nerve and seems to be long lasting, where standard RF used to burn the nerve appears to heal and return relatively quickly. It's not well known, so it sounds like you're in good hands

@Its.Treeeena not necessarily, they can go up and down, but hopefully you're more fine!

@@Its.Treeeena yes, anything that was there will still be there in mri

@lstone3633 really need to properly assess the function of the trigeminal nerve and things along it's path that may affect it
@spinewiseYT Thanks. On wait list for MRI. I just couldn't quite catch what you mentioned in the video. It must be my accent!
