I absolutely love SRV. Saw him the first time at Veterans Park Amphitheater in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1983 back when he was getting big after the David Bowie publicity. Saw him 4 times after that including his last performance at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin. I will never forget that day. There was something in the air that day that was palpable. The birds were even acting weird, flocking in circles. He laid it down so hard that night. Hearing the news his helicopter crashed while driving back to the Twin Cities was one of the saddest days in my life. Long live SRV!
I can perfectly imitate the first part of the intro (the muted strings + wah) when I brush my teeth. No kidding, I get the perfect timing and even the spots where the pedal is in up/down position using my mouth to shape the sound. That’s because I’ve listened to this song more than a thousand times

I can't even right now.. in order Stevie Ray Vaughan Jimi Hendrix Eric Clapton.
Need a Stevie Ray Vaughan movie!
I have watched this film clip a zillion times... It excites me every time.... SRV played at 150mph as if it was his last concert... A few have made a living imitating this performance, but none I have seen excite me more
Best string bend I have ever witnessed!!!
Every note he hit on his guitar is on another level! I've never seen someone so talented like Stevie Ray Vaughan, jesus! What a legend!
Legendary Indeed... He plays with such force, absolutely visceral and we feel every note. How is fnks recorded almost 30+ years ago and sounds as fresh as today!!! It is like we are transported into the audience. Out standing... 🚀 🙌
One reason why there are so many Strats for sale - used, 2nd hand , disposed, discarded, rejected . Ain't gonna happen for a lot of them , never got to sing, wail, cry , shout like this
Stevie's playing is more exciting and appealing than any guitarist i've ever heard. I dont know if the key to the puzzle is how passionate he was, or just overall skill from the ungodly amount of time played, but Stevie had something that not many people, if not any, have ever had.
Yes this man can give you goosebumps and feel enthralled every time you listen or watch... Also we feel like we are transported into the audience. We'll done SRV...THE Bluesman 🚀 🙌 🔥 🎸 🎛️ 🎵 🎶
His transition from the first solo to the 2nd verse at 3:20 was better than any version of the song ever played
The man! That Fender just screaming the hell out of it!
Hands down, SRV was undoubtedly a "guitar hero!"
That guitar is holding on to its tuning for dear life.
That guitar looks like it's about to explode and only SRV supernatural skill is keeping it in one piece. Thank-you for this.. RDS
He improvised like a really good hard bop saxophone player.
I love Stevie ray Vaughan
@@austinyeager4201 I think Ed Sheeran is way better than this guy though
@@edward658 😂😂😂☝️
I can perfectly imitate the first part of the intro (the muted strings + wah) when I brush my teeth. No kidding, I get the perfect timing and even the spots where the pedal is in up/down position using my mouth to shape the sound. That’s because I’ve listened to this song more than a thousand times
for those of you are seeing this for the first time ,find the entire show . the other band mates said stevie was on fire that night and as guitar player i use to watch it before a show and either he would enspire me or make me wanna stop playing guitar depending on my mood
Never seen anyone play with more Fire , Explosive Expressive Power & Fluidity. A Force of nature.
can we all just stop to appreciate the sheer power of the intro when he begins to play notes?.....untouched...
God damn guitar god, what a legend
Even if this man isn’t the greatest guitarist ever, his presence and his style are something out of this world. Shame I didn’t get to witness this.
Back up mind rant, Even IF?!? This, THIS is the greatest guitarist that ever lived. Even Jimi himself would politely decline climbing on stage with SRV that night. The El Macombo performance is flawless. Even his band are deeply distracted and they’re just watching him.
Stevie Ray Vaughan, we all miss you tremendously! Your musical talent lives on in our hearts. I still watch you play often. Everyday on my treadmill. 👍🙏❤️
props to that bass man i would have gone mad with that atmosphere
If I had the chance to travel back in time. This would be the day.
