Me seeing the player not dodging those yellow attack markers from the enemy is truly anxiety inducing…I hope we will be able to move or reposition our character around during combat 😅
It seems to be an action game of sorts...? They are spamming the big attack button and using skills in-between. Seems cool, auto-target nearest enemy when pressing the attack button, perhaps... I wonder how we will play in situations with multiple enemies. Separate skills or previously single target skills will have an AOE-hit box for when you are playing Tank? Attack button could be also held to change single target attacks to AOE ones, like Cloud in the remake. It would be nice, so we would use shortcuts to add utility skills rather than attack ones, it would certainly make certain mechanics easier for mobile play while tanking.
It's a completely separate game (no crossplay. Completely different codebase etc.) but it follows the same (or at least similar) story and the locations, gear, jobs etc. will also be the same (at least at first. They will probably add gear that isn't in the main game at some point). The first release will ONLY have the story through ARR and will ONLY have the ARR jobs, though obviously with a modified toolkit which has some attacks from later expansions in it. Story updates (like HW, StB etc.) will come at some later point
Sooooo uuhhh, will we get free movement in combat and the game in general? or is it a point and click adventure with stationary boring as hell "stand here and don't move" combat? This is extremely crucial information. If players can't move freely in combat, then no one will play.
@KissoneKinoma if you look at the bottom left portion of the screen(easiest to see it during Dragoon for me, but I'm colorblind so you may see it easier elsewhere), there's what looks like a faded out joystick. You can also catch movement right at the end of Monk. Its likely they just didn't move for the same reason they didn't use every skill. It's a teaser.

@verydisturbing_ That's a horrible excuse. It's on consoles and PC. The mobile version is only going to be a lack luster version of the ARR. It's only smart on their end because they make money off the dumb people.

Separate from the Original, it's starting all over on Mobile, that's why you only see ARR Jobs

It had AoE markers during the Paladin portion, so I'm pretty sure we'll have free movement.
