Beautiful piece. The quality of your work is outstanding: a tribute to how much time and care you put into each piece. This board was made for me... can I just say for anyone else thinking of commissioning such a piece - you will not regret it. Nik is incredibly patient and willing to keep working on a design until it’s absolutely perfect. We went back and forward on many designs until I was completely happy. I’m delighted with the piece and very grateful to Nik for doing such an amazing job from start to finish.
That yellowheart end grain actually comes out looking like metallic when it's oiled - almost like gold. What an amazing effect. As usual, an amazing piece of work, and an inspiration to us woodworkers who hope to commission pieces of this quality one day. Well done!
wow, absolutely stunning, and thats before you oil and wax. i would never use such a board but would admire it in all its beauty as the work of art it truly is ..
it looks so beautiful that I don't know if I would ever use it cause I wouldn't want a scratch on it. Such a great piece of craftsmanship. Keep it up 😉
Lovely work. Better than your first Hanzo board. May i ask if you are using the Vcarve technique or the normal straight walled inlay technique for your inlays? I'm guessing Vcarve because you have nice sharp corners. Is that a 10 degree bit or 30?
Excellent work as usual....very inspiring....what do you use for finishing? Mineral oil....beeswax...some sorta blend? I usually use a butcher block conditioner I get at woodcraft..
Beautiful Work. Have you ever thought of doing colored epoxy for the inlays, I could only imagine the time it would take, but it would do justice to the colors that masks have in real life.
Looks great, any chance you will be creating a video showing your process and setup in Vectric? I've seen others do v-carve inlay before, but nobody comes close to the quality you are showing here.
I just found your channel and I am enjoying your work! Approximately how long does it take the router to cut each piece of wood? And Thanks for the beautiful work...
