Landing in St. Lucia is a blast. Born and raised here so it always brings a smile to my face. Great job guys.

Nice video ! Man, I really miss flying into those airports. The fun part in SLU was that our ground staff would wait until the aircraft touched down and passed the office (buildings on left) before heading to the ramp as the aircraft had to backtrack, so sometimes we would surprise them when flying the Dash 8-100 by landing (after the threshold), stopping and exiting the runway on the first taxiway C by the 1000' marks. Since we didn't pass the tower or offices, they sat happily inside until we called on radio "Hey guys, we are on the ramp. Where are you ?" The commotion as they rushed out saying "What ? They're here ??" was hilarious :D

@@AirplaneFreak1000 I was flying the Dash 8-100 and 300 at the time with an airline that no longer exists (Caribbean Star Airlines). The RWY 90 departure is also "fun": After 50' and after passing the tower, left turn to heading of north (if going east to Barbados 🇧🇧 after passing 4000' right turn on course). 😊

SLU is my favourite of the two airports; BAC1-11s, BAE146s, B727s, DC9s, and MD80s landed there regularly. Landing on 27, though rare, is always a thrill!
Our pleasure. I think this is our first time into SLU but I might be wrong. I know we filmed the International St Lucia Airport UVF on BWIA but I may need to double check :)
Sure bet ! Landing 27 is fun. Amerijet B727 departing there or SVD was always a thrill to watch.

Flew there from BGI. Stayed on Sandals cliff top across the bay spotting aircraft and cruise ships. Great weather, overrated resort. Castries for inter island & locals, UVF, further south for oceanic air traffic.

Lovely approach very scenic and those pilots really greased that landing ( very smooth touch down on the runway) landed on that same runway a few times with LIAT airlines.

I was there in 2006. Toured the entire island on a rented car. Its a very forested island with tons of bread fruit trees . It is so abundant in natural resources but i wonder if its all owned by the superrich landowners.

I wouldn't say 5,500' is a short runway for an ATR-42. They are supposed to be able to land in 3,900' with no head wind.
