So true. I am a Christian settled in Bombay. My dad, mom, both sisters and elder brother could speak in english but I could NOT. We were all from English med school yet most of us spoke only in hindi. School imposed a fine of 10 praise if caught speaking in any other language than English. Yet I could not. I passed my SSC...11th std.. in 1974. From my 10th std onwards I started reading english comics, novels and newspapers. Believe me a year later I was fluent in spoken english. I later went on to be a captain in Indian Airlines and was a certified examiner in ELP ..english language proficiency.
In short regular reading, listening and speaking is a sure way to speak comfortably in english.

I don't know what this video is doing in my recommendations, But for a country who was a former british territory, you guys will never speak in your native language in international level, this will be the main cause in declining your National language, I don't like the fact that in some countries people thinks speaking English is cool and it is the only way to achieve success but it is not. Here is Russia, nobody knows to speak English and we are still a superpower. Even our president speaks russian on international level and nobody even dared to ask him to speak English. in Russia the whole country knows to speak only one language that is russian, but the problem with india is there are many languages in one country. *The biggest mistake done by indians is instead of Hindi, they chose English as a source communicate with the rest of the country* Btw love from 🇷🇺.
Indians don't use English because it's cool, we use it to tackle our diversity.we have almost the same number of languages and dialects as in Europe .so tell me which language would you speak to talk to a French or Spanish person?? It would obviously be English .the same logic applies in India.
@@Charlie-r16 the example you gave about french and Spanish Are totally different things, both are different countries, in france they speak no other than french, in spain 96% of population speaks Spanish, i am saying so because there should be one formal language for one single country, the worst thing that happened in India is people using English to tackle their diversity, Here in Russia, from the Finnish border to the korean border, the whole Country use one language which is Russian, Before russia, In the USSR, from Tajikistan to estonia the whole country used to speak only one language which is Russian even Soviet union has many diversities. The only I want to say is There should be one language that the whole country can speak and understand, nobody is saying that speak hindi only and forgot your local language. Well it’s good to learn a new language, but, it’s not a language that makes an Officer, a Leader. But, true character. At the same time, as Indian we should be proud of Our Hindi. Hindi represents a culture of milleniums , that, we should be proud of. It’s for Hindustan, Bharat and India that people join the sacred and prestigious Forces and Hindi is one of our proud as it represents our Sanskriti and Our Armed Forces protect not just our physical borders but Cultural Heritage also like during HADR missions, the Indian Sanskaars of Helping Others is showcased by Our Hero Soldiers.
Ergo, I request that we should be proud of Hindi. Moreover, I am sure that the lower ranks, will be more comfortable to take orders in their national language during various missions and training
