I am really loving these! I need y'all to post them more often haha. But this was actually one of my favorite episodes, I loved finally seeing Claire and the others connect a little, and of course the really cute scenes with Jamie.
Yeah this was an interesting episode. Like it felt uncomfortable because it really portrayed Claire's uncomfortableness with her whole situation. I personally felt a connection with her bc I moved away from my home country to a very different country with a foreign culture and language, so when Jamie says that it doesn't matter where you're from, you're here now, I felt that.
I feel like this is very much a set up episode for the next one which is gonna blow your minds. But yeah this isn’t one of my favorites either, Claire forgets that her way of thinking/way of life doesn’t always translate to the past and it does cause trouble. But I think the fact that she’s forgetting herself kinda shows how invested she’s becoming in this time and shows how much shes starting to care for these people even if they frustrate her and exclude her. She could ignore everything and just focus on getting home but the world is sucking her in whether she likes it or not.
Sorry if you made this connection in a later episode but, if you haven't noticed, the actor playing Ned the lawyer is the same guy who was the grumpy dog-walker in Good Omens. His name is Bill Paterson and he turns up in *loads* of stuff.
My family has a stone at Culloden just like the McKenzies, it wasn't until the 1960s that our family castle and lands were given back to us by the British government
How often do you guys do a reaction? I mean, you definitely have a lot to catch up on & God knows, we have such a long time to wait for the next season but still....I vote for you guys to do these more often! What do you say?
I do think they were actively excluding her. Especially since they don't fully trust her. But she is likable when she tries, so when her perspective changed and she became more friendly then they were more accepting too. So while they were actually excluding her, she was contributing to it in the way she was reacting to it. Also, Claire is not a good liar. Her true feelings are going to come out of her mouth at some point, it's just who she is. So be prepared to be frustrated when she doesn't make things easier on herself quite often, lol.
I know you've probably got your next few shows lined up, but would you guys ever consider watching the Norwegian Netflix series 'Ragnerok'? It's only 6 eps long and is available with both English subtitles and English dubbing - though for some reason whenever people slip into old norse we only get the English subtitle for it when we watch it in English dubbing, still not sure what the logic there is. It's actually a really good show, even if so far we only have a pretty good idea as to who everyone really is, nothing fully confirmed yet
I know we’re quarantining girls but I need these more often 😍!!
FACTS.
I literally can't wait for you guys to get to episode 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!
