To think that more such footages of Cream's live shows must exist and are still unreleased, is heartbreaking.
    This spat fire!

Guess it’s difficult for many to understand what Cream changed in the late -60s. Before a solo meant that the solo guitarist repeated the melody line for 10 seconds - like Georg Harrison did in Beatles. With Cream suddenly there were collective improvisations that lasted for 20 minutes, like what John Coltrane did, but electric instruments and a heavy rock sound on 120 db. Hendrix liked them and was inspired, and it all changed music to what it later became. I saw them live 2 times in 1967.

The curly Afro that Clapton had in 1967 was pretty wild…by the time he joined Duane Allman in “Derek & The Dominos”, the curls were gone and his got long until the mid 1970’s. My favorite look was circa 1981-1988 when he had the military buzz cut look. His hair got longer again when he did “My Father’s Eyes” then he got the buzz cut again and now that he is semi-retired and nearly 80 years old, I assume he will keep his hair short for the remainder of his life.

It really requires going all out vocally, and that might have been too much to ask at their ages considering they were also playing another, what, 2 hours worth of virtuosic music? I bet he felt that he couldn't deliver the intensity in the singing that he wanted for it.

Cream was a good blues rock group, but Baker being in the same category as jazz greats such as Art Blakey, Max Roach and Tony Williams is utter nonsense. Baker needed to accept the fact that he was a decent rock drummer, not a jazz drummer. His playing didn't measure up to how he spoke about himself.
