Not true! You really underestimated the importance of the IRGC in the Syrian battlefield. Russia brought the weapons and sophistication however Iran brought the man power, boots on the ground. Those troops were vital in keeping Syrian government gains across the country.
The same arguments were made that Russia would collapse early in the Ukraine war because of corruption, an atrophied command, poor battlefield performance etc etc.

I have a profound affinity for Israel and would urge all Jews worldwide to embrace their patriotic spirit and transition from their current roles in banking and jewelry to military service.
In my view, the Israeli strikes have exposed the senior Hezbollah commanders as complacent and not as competent as perhaps they were in their prime. But these now dead commanders have been replaced with younger men with more current combat experience. It seems to me that all that Israel has done is create a new cadre of younger, fitter and more capable leaders, a point that Alexander is making as I type. I cannot imagine demoralisation is even a thing among the current fighters, no more than the Kursk incursion could have demoralised the Russian military. For the front-line fighters I suspect it's a matter of "game on". On the other side of the fence, Israel is probably drunk with success, and this mindset often leads to hubris and over confidence.
Russia would too benefit from a younger generation of leaders coined out of war with US/UA with less sovok brain damage and inferiority complexes. Interestingly, this is what Mr Putin was calling for. Russian citizens are totally worn out by the vinaigrette of red lines and Odessa being offered as a peace tribute to Azov.

Everything that's happened in the last 2 weeks has rescued Netenyahu position after the military debacle and industrial slaughter in civilians in Gaza and 60K settlers displaced from the north. In the eyes of most of the world though, Israel is a bigger pariah than ever before and win/lose nothing will change that.
@@ELcinegatto87 You really are in your own little world arent you. An organization doesnt collapse if you take out the main leader. "...Iran doesn't want to go to war...."
My friend.....Iran just launched a MASSIVE missile strike on Israeli.....just as you typed your comment.
Lol
@willbass2869 Well, wtf did you expect them to do?
HAHAHA! Duran, you should have just waited 2 hours more! Goddammit! Just 2 hours more! You waited 2 months!
😂
To me restraint and not acting in the way your enemy expects, is a sign of power, not weakness
I agree!
16:21 bit to early to disqualify iran, or herbollah for that matter
Clearly everything we've seen in the last 2 weeks and the pathetic new Iranian leader tells a different story. Hezbollah and Iran are completely penetrated by Mossad at the highest levels. All the decapitation strikes since Solemani are starting to have a real effect. Nazrallah was no "escalation management master" he was an old, out of touch and corrupt grifter enriching himself off the plight of palestinians being massacred by I$reel.
Greetings from Australia
Mercouris: “The war in Gaza has not gone terribly well.” Well, that’s a huge understatement. The Palestinian Resistance has massively humiliated the IDF militarily with their stunning bravery and strategic sophistication.
Welcome back home to both of you.
I thought Alex went from Malaysia, to Dubai. I could be incorrect
Thank you, both! 👍💕
Israelis can thank Iran's decency and humanity for not going for residential areas and civilians, unlike what is happening in Gaza and Lebanon...
DALLAMA! İRAN NEZAKETİ İRANLI AKTİVİST REJİM KARŞITI KADINLARA GÖSTERİYOR!😁😀😁😀
Iran isn't stooping to Israel's barbaric level.
@@chitownladyj The Iranian administration saves that for their own population.
The Iranian administration doesn't show much decency and humanity to its own population.
@@AnthonyMcCaul-c9g You must be confused. It's Israel that employs the Hannibal directive to kill its own citizens, not Iran.
Missiles launched by Iran.

The Israeli army reports that more than a hundred rockets have been fired into Israel from Iran. This is according to the Reuters news agency. Air raid sirens are sounding everywhere in Israel. Explosions can be heard in Jerusalem, among other places. According to Reuters, Iranian state media show images of missiles flying over the capital Tehran towards Israel.
Barring an actual effective attack on the IDF air bases by Iran it is likely just a face saving measure. If they didn't the regime would probably be toppled in a military coup as the new leader is pathetic and weak.
@@ELcinegatto87you are profoundly ignorant of internal Iranian politics.
No military is going to depose the govt
Tony Blinken is horrible and that’s the best I can say about him
This US Administration is by far the worst of an US Administration bar none.
It's like there's no leadership whatsoever! They are letting their proxies define their foreign policy objectives and direction.

Scott Ritter is on a podcast in which it was claimed that the Iranians have in fact sent missiles.

Atleast a 100 hypersonic missiles have attacked military bases across Israel. Also an oil reginary was hit and is on fire. Quite a few videos.
I appreciate your work. I do notice a repeated underestimation of US power in your episodes.
It is decreasing but nonetheless still enormous.
Whether in Ukraine or in the ME the US pays very little cost for its adventures and operates with impunity while enjoying absolute hegemony in hemisphere.
This is to say: the price of tge mistakes the US makes are paid by other far away
I did notice the same pattern. Chinese officials themselves speak of reaching military parity with the US in 2040. That is 15 years from now. Russia is a very distant 3rd
America is a joke , all there power and they still cant defeat 3rd world countries , the only thing the USA is good at is lying and being delusional loud mouths 😂
the cost of keeping a depleted navy in the region is enormous, don’t overestimate US capability, the Pentagon sure doesn’t.
@@quemades there is a cost in the sense that those assets cannot be allocated in Asia to contain China. In terms of US security in its hemisphere, no impact whatsoever. Which is why the US plays dangerous games and, even if it loses, it does not pay much of a price
@topogigio797 when you run out of foreign foot soldiers- the king has to send in his own. The US strategy is unsustainable in the longer term.
life comes at you fast. Iran has responded
IDF convoys have already been badly hit inside Lebanon.
Have they??
I'm not sure that Syria can be counted as a win for Iran, when it was in fact Russia that did all the heavy lifting on the ground and diplomatically, while Iran barely made an effort to protect its interests against constant provocations by Israel. Israel knew this.
"Iranians were expected to retaliate massively, and that didn't happen"
Man, you only had to wait a couple of Hours 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don’t think Iran would’ve attacked if they weren’t ready for escalation. Just saying.
I don’t believe this strike was I ran giving them all she’s got
That being said, at what point will they be pushed to that? It literally facing the annihilation of their “crown jewel” proxy isn’t enough, then what is?
If Israel can tolerate ID F casualties elevated significantly above the Gaza war-we may be at a point where Israel literally occupies Southern Lebanon- the Shia stronghold.
Excellent The Duran. As always.
This account is so convoluted it feels like a lot of mental gymnastics are happening
Pure projection.
The idea that Hezbollah will fall apart is to me ludicrous!
Also Iran’s patience is viewed as weakness. A big mistake.
Wow! Really throwing Hezbollah under the bus! Another mistake!
This podcast is very disappointing!
Trust is important. Russia naively thought the Minsk agreements were genuinely made to find a solution to the eastern Ukraine crisis! They got their fingers badly burned!😮
I always love the people who say 'Putin and Lavrov are the best! They're so smart! They're playing 4-D chess while everyone else is playing checkers' with one side of their mouth but with the other side they say 'Waah the West tricked us with the Minsk Accords waaah!'
@erics7992 you know the saying: fool me once shame on you, fool me twice (thrice etc) shame on me. Broken trust is a b--ch to restore and the US has used up its trust chips. That changes everything.
@@erics7992 Because one narrative is useful for Western audiences that realize Western leadership is intellectually bankrupt and is desperately looking for an alternative, the other narrative is useful for a Russian audience that might have been hesitant about the war. The important part is that even whilst they were tricked, or pretending to be tricked, they were preparing for self sufficiency and making back-up plans. Hence why they thrived despite the sanctions. So it's not an either or, it's a both and.
Same could be said of the Iranians and their proxies. I thought they were playing chess. They seem to have bungled this whole situation pretty good.
There’s an issue with ppl refusing to face the cold hard reality some times
@@petercopco5233 The hard reality is the fact that everything happening in the middle-east is simply the inevitable consequence of having a society that hasn't technologically and intellectually advanced since the 8th century. People forget that "survival of the fittest" also applies to humans.
Watching the video and at the same time, the first reports of Iranian massive strikes.
Thank you Gentlemen. Always an excellent report!
Merci pour cette analyse de très haute qualité !!🙏🙏
Thank you Alex and Alexander 👍🇮🇹🇬🇧
Thanks, guys!
Much has changed since this was posted. Is this the beginning of the end of Is-ray-hell.
I can’t understand how you can recognise Russia playing a long game, not over reacting and being strategic. Not rising to serious provocations to get in to a wider war with the US…BUT you don’t see the same thing with the Shia. Iran and Lebanon have a lot more serious situation to navigate…this situation could take a long time to play out. Years…
Watch Alistair Crooke’s talk with Larry Johnson! Anyone interested in this conflict needs to watch this.
I have a profound affinity for Israel and would urge all Jews worldwide to embrace their patriotic spirit and transition from their current roles in banking and jewelry to military service.
Do you really think they will? They love money first.
You guys are going to need to film a new video
Hello guys thanks for the broadcast today
MONEY absolutely corrupts and it 💰 corrupts ABSOLUTELY! So goes the golden age of virtue when printing presses are in "full production"!
Israel really wants a repeat of 2006, have they forgotten 2006 wasn't exactly a good year for them?
Its a sanguine view that i am way too neurotic to exactly share, but i hope you are correct.
I completely agree... Well said.

Well as I'm watching this video I see missles from Iran have started hitting Israel. Guess we will see where this goes. Glad you guys will be here for analysis!
It's funny how this is way out of date even an hour after posting. The Iranian missile attack was huge and Israel can't enter Lebanon. I don't see how anything you said makes sense in that context.
Так они ведь исходили из того, что Иран решил не наносить удар, от этого и строили всю свою логику.
Exactly and the Duran think Hizbollah has been infiltrated and corrupted. They are better at explaining the Ukraine war.
Anyone who prioritizes the interests of his own people - could not act like Netanyahu. This seems like a suicidal venture for Israel with no conceivable positive outcomes.
Have you listened to Alistair Crooke on the topic of Lebanon Iran and the Shi ?
Alistair Crooke is more informed and with better analysis imo
The both of you make incredibly astute observations on situations that sometimes seem to indicate the opposite yet you are overwhelming correct in your conclusions. Watching your shows is like a 6 month glimpse into the future. And I am very intrigued by your analysis of the Shoigu observation.
One of the worst duran videos but such is the nature of geopolitical analysis. Can't get everything right.
Bibi is hanging on by his fingernails 😂
Let’s hope!
I'm surprised that two people from an ancient civilization cannot figure out the fault lines in Christians, Muslims & Jews.
This is not about religion. Geopolitics has only interests.
Politics is always about ideology which is always either philosophical or religious.
I am no military or have any experience in military matters but common sense tells me that by seeing today how Iran was able to penetrate the israenasis air defenses. How the usa government expects to attack and defeat Iran??? A little example . Why the Houties haven't been defeated so far??? Long and difficult... oh boy
Appeasement doesn't work in this world.
I am not saying that there should be provocation, but a leader has to have some level of understanding how to adjust based on the current situation and circumstances.
The Israel/Iran contrast from these events reinforces an old lesson: "Power - use it or lose it."

I think you are being too influenced by the western view of this conflict- and the western press. Let’s see what happens. Way too much speculation in this analysis… just saying…
You are absolutely right. Analysis totally from a one sided western perspective. No though given to views from West Asia. I'm from West Asia and I can tell you that the Duran may great for Ukraine /Russia analysis, but very sketchy when it comes to West Asia.
Please avoid mentioning S Arabia. It's not worth anything militarily!
It's not corruption but interests, infighting & disappointment.
The Russian prime minister is also currently in Iran.
Gentlemen, you did finally reach a balance in your analysis at this episode's conclusion, with your discussion of Russia . However, I think you should make an effort when discussing Iran's "Strength" to integrate your view of Russia's influence more clearly. This is an issue much like the impact on Russia, of China & Brazil's suggestions of a ceasefire, in which you have made an important, but almost excessive point of discussing. In the case of Russia, it has been a bit too much, and with Iran, a bit too little...
