1:03:55 they did went through a lot of struggle actually. They came from a smaller lesser known company so they literally have to build up their fans little by little they don’t have a flood of fans who stands big company, they don’t have budget like big company so they have to make everything count that is why they’re very genuine with their fans,company and staff(they are known to be loved by staffs and crews in music show backstage as well).
They disbanded as Minx due to the market of that concept being flooded with more popular groups and big company groups dominating that market it left a lot of trauma for the girls as they work really hard to debute and became performers. It specially hurt Siyeon(as Jiu stated in interview) she always wanted to become a singer and performer from a very young age she is said to be in a garage rock band in her school days as their vocalist and when Minx fail she couldn’t even go out or listens to radio and watch people perform on stages cause it traumatised her and she feel like those people could’ve been her at the time(She sings about this in her solo:Paradise).
3. Since they are lesser known group and tackle a more niche music genre in Korea the industry at times will not notice them, they got their wins allegedly stolen and the Korea music industry will favour more generic popular groups
4. Even to this day Korean articles will praised popular big company group for their more newer comeback having punk rock mix and will sometimes not even notice that Dreamcatcher have been doing this genre for 5+ years now, Yes, when a over popular group does rock its innovative,so brave etc etc but when Dreamcather does it the “industry experts” will say you will not get popular with this kind of genre, do songs like these more popular groups etc etc…(they talk about this in the Odd eye comeback back stage interview,they were interviewed by this female comedian)
it's hurting, diamond like Dreamcatcher, not get what they deserve.
I am not kpop fan expert, I only listen few of them, and sometimes viral song by some new group, so I can't compare DC to others properly, but, IMO Dreamcatcher must be one of the top group in South Korea, popularity, talent, entertainment, every aspects that a group must have, Dreamcatcher can deliver it.
When comparing Dreamcatcher with another group even newest one, it's feel like DC 'not exist' in the media. That's make me sad.
They are really underrated.
I wish the company, staffs, members and fans always happy, anytime, anywhere.
I love everything around Dreamcatcher.
One of the most mesmerized things about Dreamcatcher is how high quality their b-sides are. Still remembered the first thought came to my mind when listened to their 1st full album. Its kinda like "why go this hard for all the b-sides" coz most of them are at the level of title track. It suddenly reminded me how crazy Dreamcatcher's discography is.

Dreamcatcher Mind is pretty good series. Each episode is a different theme so you don't really need to do them in order. Episode 6 will get you in your feels.
"In The Frozen" is from Dreamcatcher first full album, "Dystopia: The Tree of Language". Every songs in that album is fantastic, you might as well check all of them one of these day. BTW, I started watching your channel from your first Dreamcatcher reaction.

Well, there goes my plans to trick you into watching a Minx MV without telling you the context.
Piri is such an amazing song. It is my favorite of theirs, followed by BEcause and Scream. You certainly need to check out the dance for Piri (but all of their dances are worth checking out). You and I was the song that lead me to them after Dami's part on it went viral on Reddit.
I think your Boca reaction was the second reaction of yours I saw, after Cold Blooded. Or maybe it was the other way around.
Sua is such a force of chaos. Also one of the best dancers out there. I love her.
Siyeon not winning V-1 was such a shame. Not that Yeonjung isn't also an amazing singer, but I think Siyeon should have taken it.

Honestly, before you started to talk about your background, I only had a slight feeling that it wasn't your first language. Your English has always been great.
Yeah, Big Bang is coming back next month (thankfully as 4 members). They have some great songs and you have certainly hits bits of most of their big songs from watching Blackpink House.
The start of their dances are always great, like with what you saw with Good Night.
Cider! It is such a fun song. You should check out the original by Norazo. I remember when found it originally by just looking at random performances on a music show, and Cider really caught my eye. Another fun song by Norazo is Vegetables.
The Poison Love MV they did on top of it being about everyone falling in love with Handong, pretty much uses as many Korean Drama tropes as they can.

Some of the ladies of DC would be triggered but really I think it is still fun to check out the content. I still do not agree with some of the camerawork because Dami was technically under-aged and they had her doing adult-level stuff... Otherwise, the music and songs were great! I am glad they are DC now, but it's always fun to look back to where they started from. We get to see their progression all the way around. :)
If you see 'choreography by SuA' you need to *immediately* pause the video and get some water because you *will* be thirsty.
SuA's screaming vlog is literally just that. Her Day in Poland. The bloopers are hilarious too.
Producers: Leez & Ollounder for the most part. They're absolute geniuses istg. (As part of Eden-ary, they also work with a lot of other groups like Ateez.)
The Nightmare series leans heavier into visual symbolism and J-rock sounds (hence the feeling of 'anime OSTs') than Dystopia, where Dystopia leaned heavier into lyrical symbolism & rock fusion sounds.
One of the things this guide didn't mention is FriendCatcher. The girls are *very* friendly to everyone and they have friends all through the industry. Handong is friends with most of China Lines (Chinese idols in Korea) and in fact just did the Tomboy challenge with Yuqi and Shuhua. Gahyeon is close with Arin of Oh My Girl, with all of CLC, they've gotten close to KARD's Jiwoo and Somin, the list literally goes on. Jiu wants to do a mega collab with all girl groups. They're also friends with Sera Ryu (former leader and member of 9 Muses, runs her own reaction channel on YT).
They're also 'successful fans' - Yoohyeon is a Wonderful (Wonder Girls, and particularly Sunmi), and Dami is a SONE (Girl's Generation) and it's always a good day when they get to interact with their idols. (That was actually the most disappointing part for me personally about them not being on Queendom - iirc, Siyeon is a fan of Hyolyn and Taeyeon is hosting the show, so Dami would have been so happy. Also lack of FriendCatcher.)
Dami is the biggest introvert in the group, so you'll often find her in DC Notes off to the side, or buried in a book.
The MCRs don't always have the biggest sound for the band, so that's probably why you couldn't hear the riff for BEcause. Their live bands in the concerts are turned up more.
If you want a good amount of hilarity (and thirst), watch their relay dances and the MCD dance challenges. The MCD dance challenge is playing a well known song and groups that participate can either actually do the choreo, or they can goof off... or both at the same time. All of those are on Mnet's channel.
The group itself did not cover Boombaya, that was only Jiu when she participated in Mix9.
Okay I'm putting this way down cause I'm not in the mood to be yelled at by rapist apologists. Before you react to Big Bang, you might want to read up on the Burning Sun scandal that heavily involved the former member of Big Bang. This is not to put you off reacting to them, but to recognize some of the issues that would prevent some from watching any of the older videos with the former member and to recognize him.
Yoohyeon has such a beautiful voice to go along with a great personality! She is a ten in every way. She has done several great cover songs in English.
Yesss I've been waiting for this. Dreamcatcher is my ultimate group, they are so close to each other and the company treats them so well. They've been through a lot and I admire that even though they have never gotten a music show win that they are still stronger than ever. My biases in this group are SuA and Siyeon, but they all bias wreck me so hard.
Hey, just wanted to say that they're coming back on April 12th with a full album which includes a solo song from each of the girls (most self written and produced) and an apocalyptic concept (it seems?) so do look out for that :)

As much as their title tracks are hard hitting, their strongest point for me is their bsides cause they got insane diversity in their bsides. When i say they are the Queen of Genres, they really are. I hope you can react to their whole discography especially their bsides, maybe you can have an album listening . Thank you for you reaction as always.

I don't think I need to explain why Dreamcatcher are my favourite group. Not just in kpop but music in general.
I have no doubt that you're gonna watch all of their MVs eventually. But would also highly recommend the b-sides. There is an insane amount of diversity, a lot of songs without any rock/metal influence, rather going for EDM and lots of other genres. There you can also see the b-sides that have received music videos or performance videos of some sort. My personal recommendations are Sleep-walking (the video is nothing special but the song is amazing), And There Was No One Left (one of the most highly regarded b-sides), Red Sun (Sua choreographed this one), Black or White (strong Micheal Jackson vibes, for a while my favourite song of theirs) and Wind Blows (so fucking intense).
And obviously the self-made MVs for Sahara, Break the Wall and Poison Love, tho they made it kinda hard for me to take the songs completely serious :D
I don't know if you would also react to b-sides without any videos but my favourites here are Trap, Diamond (really think you would love this one), Silent Night (seen by many as their best b-side. There is no christmas here, this is DC going DnB), In The Frozen (similar to Silent Night but more insane IMO) and Whistle (my No.1 favourite song from them and until I heard Taeyeon's INVU also my favourite kpop song).
And on the Japanese side, No More is probably the heaviest pure metal song they've made so far. As a metalhead I believe you might like this :D
Oh, and Siyeon's solo song, Paradise, is a must!

i never being slayed by a a group like that. i love many group and all are awesome in they're way . but to be truly honest i can't find a bad song with dreamcartcher . not even a ok songs all they're title track are amazing , all they're b-side are amazing , even with blackpink i like 95 % of they're songs i can find 1 or 2 songs just ok . i also love all the members , i love follow them i came in all they're concert . i buy all they're albums and merch i'am a true dreamcatcher simp . and i'am usualy not like that .
Wish that I could afford to be a simp that way. Last time I bought merch from ANYTHING, it was RockFest 2007, in Kansas City. Damn.

FUN FACT they do anime opening and video game sound track they're very active in that way the japanese market love them a lot . they're more close from the JPOP market because they do love rock songs a lot than the kpop market . but it's a true kpop group with the versatility we can see with many group .

To be honest i would like you to react to everything 😂😂 but man it took me my whole life as insomnia to watch everything there is just so much content out there. We are really well fed fandom , besides all of this on yt also vlives, and some of those clips you just saw are DC online concerts they have live band since seven spirits concert ant all of them are also amazing. Wish you luck with discovering everything cuz there is a lot more oh i forgot about many programs with them... Man so many to see and react. The first 6 title tracks plus the Japanese release Breaking Out are part of the Nightmare story arc so need to be watched in the order they were released. Jiu and Sua are the same age by the way Koreans count age and thus best friends.
There's only one error in the guide and that's that Happyface Entertainment still exists . It's the parent company of Dreamcatcher Company which was created for promotional and financial reasons. I tried to access the corporate registry held by the Korean government but it's all in Korean and very convoluted. I just know their company CEO who sometimes appears in their Vlives is the CEO of Happyface.

And yes ALL their songs are great , there is a point that just recomend 1 is worthless. just go and check all the albums. In their official YT channel there are playlist for each album and if any b side have a special clip is there. Maybe you will need a color coded lyric video, sometimes those clips dont have subs.

YOOHYEON and JIU are my bias even if obviously they all wreck me hard ; but one reson is because she's also a dog lover and her back story is very similar with mine own story . she's also an amazing singer with SIYEON she got the best solo and she cover many english songs . YOOHYEON and JIU are also the fece of the group they're the 2 central figure in all DREAMCATCHER STORY LINE most of the time JIU is the bright princess and YOOHYEON the dark one .

Among the KPOP idol groups, I think DREAMCATCHER is the most affectionate and close group among the members. I hope they become a long-lived KPOP group.

vocally they're just behind group like MAMAMOO to me they're just so talented than it's insane . they're like black cat in korea and i don't get that . our country don't really enjoy rock and scary concept . we usualy love more cute / sexy or girl crush concept . any other concept doesn't really work here . but they got a pretty good global fandom and most of they're fans are of course metalhead .
I don’t think comparing Mamamoo and DC is a good idea cause both group tackle genre that are very very different so vocal styles will not be the same with Mamamoo songs and concept

@@veen-a2092 nah it’s fair because it’s a great compliment. All members in DC are very good singers! 5/7 members can hit the high notes very well but all are stable when it comes to performing live. Which is great for fans like us moomoos. We can appreciate their talents

B: Techniques are different while Mamamoo used western classical techniques DC girls have to incorporate more rock vocal technique to their performance
C: Due to the concept being very different the choreography instensity is different
D: the original comment said "They're just behind Mamamoo" and personally I'll say it is quite unfair to make a statement like that due to genre and concept difference,I can't say they're "behind" or "better" than this and that group because most group have not performed a metal based instruments with intense choreography which is why techniques used on either groups are very different so making a comparison cannot be necessarily justified

Omg your reaction to Minx XDDD Yeah, it's was not their vibe. They've come very far but for a long time they got very uncomfortable with it even being brought up. Dami had to pitch her voice up for Minx and it was very unnatural for her, and Sua even now gets anxious about cutting her hair because she hated being made to have a bob back then. Plus like...back then, Dami and Yoohyeon were only 17 when they were in these MVs that have a lot of close ups of them shaking their butts. It's just very uncomfy. But luckily along with their redebut, Happyface got a lot more freedom from their parent company, and their CEO and manager are a married couple who really take care of them like daughters and respect their boundaries. Like as you can see, they're allowed to get tattoos and drink on camera, which is actually pretty rare for idols. Siyeon has three, Yoohyeon has two or three, and Dami has two!
Jiu Section: Yes, Jiu was blonde for Deja Vu era! And she's gone blonde for this new comeback too! Blonde Jiu just hits different. She's the sweetest leader and best mom. Her sunshine personality gets the group through so much. She was also voted the most beautiful idol in not one but TWO polls! Even her voice is just SWEET!!! It's impossible not to be in love with her. My recommendations for her besides the clips you've seen are her covers of I Love You 3000 and Honesty.
Sua Section: Sua is SO beautiful!!! I think in person I would definitely get overwhelmed by her energy, but she's so magnetic and definitely out of all of them the one who fully embraces and rocks the sexy concept. She's hilarious and always keeps everyone laughing and smiling with her antics, but she's also so, so caring and mothers the group just like Jiu, since they are the same age. And she's SUCH a talented dancer and choreographer. You should definitely check out her covers of Copycat, Buttons/React, Tadow, and Havana. And yes, she raps!!! Or used to. She was actually the main rapper in Minx, but that mantle passed to Dami in Dreamcatcher, and after Good Night Sua decided she wanted to focus more on vocals. And she actually has the highest range in the group! Although Siyeon used to be able to hit whistle notes back in Minx era, which you can hear if you listen to Why Did You Come to My Home.
Siyeon Section: Siyeon's rock cover of EXO is *legendary*. And if you're hearing it before the original song...I don't know if you'll ever be able to hear it as not *her* song. She's a rock goddess and TRULY one of the most incredible vocalists in the industry, if not the world. Her power and dynamic control and sheer versatility are insane. She's a vocal chameleon. Besides what you've seen, I really recommend checking out the group covers of To DJ and Come A Come to get a feel for her insane range. But also listen to the full version of her EXO cover because it's just...magnificent.
Handong section: "I think I'm gonna title this video 'being a slut for Dreamcatcher for 50 minutes'" Well, that really is the only reaction you can have when you see a girl like Handong tbh XD She's SO beautiful and enigmatic. So goofy yet always with such effortless elegance. I think definitely part of her past shyness was that she's Chinese, so she wasn't always as confident speaking Korean as she is now. She and Gahyeon were also only trainees for 6 months before Dreamcatcher debuted, so they didn't have all the experience the others did. But some really cool things about her and her beautiful voice are that she has a background in opera and musical theater! She also has a Chinese solo song called "First Light of Dawn" and is turning into a pretty surprisingly great rapper. I really hope they actually add her to the rap line, but in the meantime you can hear her parts on their covers of Come A Come and My House, and their anime opening Eclipse. And she is STRONG!
Yoohyeon Section: Our resident puppy!!! Literally a golden retriever of a human, she's always so friendly and upbeat. And she taught herself English in high school! Her accent is fantastic. And her dog's name is Pie! Cutie TT_TT She's got a great voice too--in any other group, without Siyeon being literally insane, she could easily be a main vocalist. She's I think the one who does the most cover songs, and a lot of them are English! I definitely recommend her covers of Secret Love Song and 2000. I'd love to hear her cover a Taylor Swift song cuz I think it would fit her voice really well. I love that she also has SUCH middle-child energy lmao XD always teasing and getting teased by the members, especially Sua.
Dami Section: My bias!!! Her voice and her beauty are all so unique, I love her. She's also the one in the group with the most song writing credits. She writes most of her own raps but also has written a few entire songs herself like Scar and New Days and she recently got a music production certificate! Insanely talented. You should definitely check out her and Yoohyeon's cover of Palette because not only will you be amazed by how soft and calm her singing voice is but they produced it themselves. Another great original song of hers is Butterfly, which she wrote as a tribute to her family dog after he died. She's also I think VERY underrated as a lead dancer. To see all of them really show off their dance skills but especially her, you gotta watch a fan cam of their dance cover for Believer.
Her personality is also really wonderful and I think out of all of them the MOST different to what you see on stage. Her stage charisma is so intense and intimidating, but she's really just a goofy baby panda. She and Handong are definitely the two most introverted members, but even they have their moments. And Dami is really known for being observant and taking care of her members, which gives her a very mature vibe even though she's the second-youngest. She really suits being Gahyeon's cool unnie much more than being Minx's maknae, that's for sure. And she's super smart! All of them are, honestly (Siyeon even got into college!) but Dami is really known for loving puzzles. There's a great video called "Dami being Dreamcatcher's brain for 10 minutes."
Gahyeon Section: The most powerful maknae in the game!!! Her face is SO expressive and she's just a gorgeous girl. I love seeing her come into her own both in rap and vocals throughout the eras. She's gonna rule the world some day. Highly recommend checking out her solo cover of Adult Ceremony (which is a fancam) and seeing her in the group cover of My House. Also, there's a reason she's called Siyeon and Sua's child; she definitely got her loudness from them XD Also, one of the songs that played during her section is their b-side from Scream era: Tension! 10/10 recommend, it's the song they sing at the end of their concerts nowadays and it's SO perfect.
Group section: They are SO chaotic and friendly and just beautiful people! Pretty much every variety/talk show they go on says they've never had any group that's as fun and wild. They're always talking about wanting to make friends with other idols and really treat younger groups like Everglow as their little sisters. Truly some of the most wonderful idols in the game. And because of all they've been through and how unique their story is, they're SO appreciative and kind to their fans and truly enjoy giving us so much extra content. They're always working on new covers, self-made MVs, vlogs, tiktoks, and a whole reality show just because they love to make the fans happy and to keep on creating. I would definitely love to see you react to all the content out there besides just their music! Even just beyond this guide there's SO much to discover and your love will only grow.

In the frozen is one of my favourite songs from dc! It’s a b-side from the scream album, and is one of their more edm sounding songs. It didn’t get much attention as it was never promoted but definitely recommend listening as it’s awesome!
