5 BREAKFASTS FOR WEIGHTLOSS - Lean Muscle Meals

  • Disclaimer: I'm not claiming these foods are magic or special for weight loss or muscle gains (there is no such thing). Calories in vs calories out is VERY important, but so is the quality of foods you're consuming. Ideally you should be eating foods that aren't highly processed (so you don't feel like crud) and are high in protein and fiber (to help you feel fuller longer). Even eating "healthy" foods in high qualities (or that are naturally higher in calories within small serving sizes) can lead to weight gain.

as an avid jar re-user, get the goo gone GEL it’s different than the regular spray bc it clings to whatever you spray it on. i set my jar at an angle over the drain, spray it, walk away for like 15 minutes, then you can literally wipe the sticky residue off with a paper towel. easy peasy.

    Hello patty...
I rarely comment on UA-cam videos. But you're someone who has helped me in more ways than I can count.
I've been following you for quite sometime, and you're the first person in the fitness community that I came to respect. Before you, every fitness enthusiasist or influencer I followed sounded like a scammer instead of a teacher who were either toxic people preying on my insecurities or just trying to generate traffic to their video with a catchy title and thumbnail that provides harmful advices regarding fitness.
You're one of the first fitness influencer I've followed who represented the world of fitness in a positive, motivating and empowering way. Instead of making me feel insecued about my body, you inspired me to start eating healthy and working out while also sharing your recipes and your knowledge regarding workout plans and diets, that too with a sense of humor and wittiness. I applaud you for that.
I went from an underweight dude with shitty sleep schedule, gastric and IBS to a highly disciplined callisthenics and yoga practicioner with a very healthy body.
Thank you for being a positive influence. 🧡

I love this! Thanks Patty! I will definitely try those muffins with the choco-chips. Since you asked: My breakfast usually is a 3-egg-white omelette, sautéed spinach, and a strawberry banana smoothie. Omelette is about 2.5 - 3 oz of egg whites. Sautéed spinach is a little olive oil, minced garlic, chili flakes, with a little white wine (Pinot Grigio is my go to cooking wine), and about 2-3 cups of fresh baby spinach (but really I just pile on the spinach until I can't see the bottom of the pan anymore). Smoothie is one banana, 4-5 strawberries, and some soy milk in my magic bullet. I change out the smoothie with just soy milk with a scoop of protein powder on gym days. The omelette does change periodically from plain to soy chorizo with salsa verde. Or avocado with smoked salmon, kewpie mayo, wasabi sauce, and a little hoisin sauce. Or, classic Denver Omelette toppings. Once or twice a month i'll make banana pancakes or waffles with the Kodiak pancake mix. If I am trying indulge then I will make Eggs Benedict. I have made the whole thing with all the butter for homemade hollandaise sauce and poached eggs. But if I am lazy I will make fried eggs instead and fake store made hollandaise. The my fav variant for Eggs Benny is (in this stacked order) english muffin, wasabi sauce & Kewpie mayo, jack cheese, smoked salmon, fried egg (sometimes poached), and topped hoisin sauce and some scallions. This is paired with the sautéed spinach but substitutions of sesame oil for olive oil, Mirin for white wine, and adding a little 5 spice (on occasion adding some mushrooms and celery to the spinach mix). Did i mention i love to cook? And eat, 😅

I loved this, great recipes! Keep these awesome videos coming! One thing though, sharpen your knife! As someone who has worked in a professional kitchen for the last 16 years the most dangerous thing in a kitchen is a dull knife, it requires more force to cut and can more easily injure you as a result. Also the tears when cutting an onion are usually a result of a dull knife, a sharp knife does less cellular damage when it cuts so less of the onion juices that cause tearing are released. I really appreciate all your helpful advice on fitness and nutrition; hope you find my culinary advice as useful, less onion tears in the future! Keep up the great work!

No judgement, but if calories, cholesterol, or fat are a concern or become one or you need/want more protein. You can always do like 2 eggs to 100g(3) egg whites which are easily purchasable in cartons. To get all the the goodness of the meal with a hefty amount of protein.
Another breakfast meal idea for you and one of my classic favourites is a high protein, low fat scramble. That is good on its own or with some sliced tomato and avocado. It also makes a good base for a variety of meals such as a breakfast bowl with some cubed air fried potatoes, cottage cheese, steamed veg mix and a protein like turkey sausage, bacon or deli meat (another meal haha)
      Scramble(multiple servings obvs):
      2 large eggs
350-480g(up to you) of soft tofu(breaks and blends easier)
      300g of egg whites
      1 large onion diced.
      Calories & nutritional Info.
      Scramble: 639 carloes, 21.9G Carbs, 26G fat, 82G protein.
The breakfast bowl is quite modifiable but very easy to get alot of food with only 350-500 calories and around 25-40 carbs, 2-10g of fat and 50-75G of protein. Just depends how you want to make it on any given day.
Dont give up on experimenting on your own though. Just because we're nutrition wise. Doesnt mean everything has to be bland and boring. Much love 🙌

@@MystxVii thanks. My issue was, I was eating enough healthy fats and protein. My typical day is:
Breakfast; patty's overnight oats or 5 whole eggs, half avocado, 1 toast
Snack 1; protein shake &20g nuts
Lunch; 200g of chicken or turkey, 150g white rice, veg, and avocado oil
      Snack 2: protein shake & 20g nuts
      Dinner: (whatever my girlfriend decides)
Before bed; 150g fat free Greek yoghurt 20g protein powder
Breakfast was getting tedious, everything else is good
I lost about 15lbs in about 5 weeks

@@LeeJoRo The only concern with 5 eggs would be cholesterol intake. As 3 is generally at/over the avg healthy adults daily intake recommendation. Just a friendly heads up.
Another breakfast option for you is what i call protein oatmeal.
-30-60g of quick oats. Make them into oatmeal like normal.
-125g of cottage cheese(just trust me, it tastes amazing in so many things you wouldnt expect.
      -1 scoop(30g) protein powder
-Fruit: 50g blueberries, half banana. Im partial to half an apple diced finely. Whatever you feel like on the day.
-1-3tsp(preference)cinnamon powder. Really aids in digestion and gut health for the day.
      Nutrition Info.
-360-470 calories depending on 30 or 60g of oats
-32-52G of carbs depending on oats serving.
      -5.5g Fat
      -46.1g Protein.
For the yogurt and protein mix. Might i suggest adding in like 200g of cantaloupe or pineapple. Frozen or raw and then put the whole bowl in the freezer for like 10 minutes. If you want a really good desert hack that tastes amazing.
      Cheers !

@@MystxVii ah yeah. I forgot mention. I usually freeze the yoghurt for 15min and add frozen raspberries (I like sour/tart). Sometimes add a tiny bit of granola just for texture (literally 1 tea spoon as granola can easy bloat me out, very uncomfortable)
I have to be careful with dairy as they trigger migraines that last for 10+ hours (even the yoghurt can see that off).
I wasn't eating enough healthy fats and protein and instead ate junk. Working well so far
      Thanks for the tips

@@MystxVii I think you don't fully understand cholesterol. Cholesterol from eggs doesn't clog your arteries, in fact, it lowers the amount that your body naturally produces. By eating egg whites and discarding the yolk, not only are you missing out on the BEST source of protein there is, but a ton of micronutrients as well. I include 6 whole eggs a day in my diet (I'm 6'5 for reference, so my food intake is higher) even while cutting, it's worth it. The recovery benefits from eggs are unmatched.

It's so versatile with endless flavorings/combinations along with the added benefits of chia seeds. I also add ground flax and hemp seeds in for some extra protein, fiber, and omega 3s. Been using wild blueberries a lot lately in my chia puddings since they are tasty and loaded with antioxidants.

I don't eat breakfast specifically, but one thing I like is sorta-but-not-really french toast. Basically, take two slices of bread and cut out the centers of them. Coat a pan with butter and and fry the bread with an egg in the center of it (in the center of the bread) until both the egg is cooked and the bread is crispy. Then pour some maple syrup (I'm Canadian...) over it, season with a bit of salt and/or black pepper, and voila! Deliciousness!

1:20 Glad to see you reuse them. Simple glass jars for meal prep are underrated.
Jars work not only nicely for overnight oats, but pretty much any stuff that's either mush or wants to be shaken (like salads).
If you are obsessive about getting the glass clean on the outside, soaking them will work nicely on most.
The rest can be removed with a knife, if you go around it as if peeling a carrot.
