Yes and some may complain about the environments, but there is a flipside to anything. I dont know how to describe it, it could be worse? It could be abstract confusion with vomit colours. I think the office landscapes and industrial warehouses, theyre timeless and theyre good looking, i prefer a timeless and tried and true environment compared to something flashy. This theme gives me an Xmas feeling since I opened the PS3 version of this game when I was definitely not old enough to play it 😂 amazing way to spend Xmas day
Back in the day I loved this. Lost places, the horror, the fighting, the music, the atmosphere. It was perfect. My first game like this. I remember finishing the download very late at night and starting it up afterwards. I came so much late to school next morning. And then the multiplayer part that was free! I found many new friends! Won't go into detail but that changed also a whole lot of my personal live (not having to do with playing games). I think this game is one of the checkpoints of my life that changed so much.

Would like to see more adventures of the F.E.A.R. unit, unrelated to the Alma plot. U.S. Army unit that combats paranormal threats has a lot of potential. Also whatever happened in 2002 that caused F.E.A.R. to be created.
From my understanding, 2002 would be around the time when Project Origin got closed down after the second Syncronization Event. It is well understood that the FEAR program was forged by Armacham Corporation and as it's motto says: it is an elite force with the sole mission to combat paranormal activities that treat the government security, aka: if the elements of Project Origin go berzerk (like they did in the game) FEAR specialists are supposed to neutralize them without knowing they are doing it, and workin for the very same people who put those paranormal events in place. At least that's how I pieced it out near the end of the first game. Never bothered with FEAR 2 mostly because the game is a downgrade and for some reason they retconed Alma for the sole porpuse of turning her into a generic villain while in the first game (hell even its expansion Extraction Point) she is a victim seekin' revenge over Armacham.
Yeah. The big problem with the setting of F.E.A.R. in hinsight was always, at least to me, that in the world of FEAR, absolutely NO paranormal threats exist except for the ones that they themselves created with Alma and Project Origin (and related projects). Everything you face throughout FEAR 1-3 (and Extraction Point, Perseus Mandate and even Online) is somehow related to her. Bit of a missed opportunity if you ask me, putting other things into the sequels. That's one thing that the spiritual successor "Trepang2" did better. But it's not as much fun and nowhere near as scary.
@@MariaIsabellaZNN The FEAR 2 that Vivendi and day 1 studios was working on (before the rights got sold back to monolith) was based around a different FEAR team. (A lot of the ideas got recycled into F.E.A.R 3, such as the Phase caster/Phase Commander)
I think this is the best horror-immersive fps. Or I mean - not just horror, but atmospheric. You actually won't see scary moments here, you're just slowly going into its lore and atmosphere, instead of screamers or sudden moments. Every event that happens to you - isn't key. But every battle you do (on the hardest) - is. Here's my favorite moments in each part of F.E.A.R. main menu: F.E.A.R. - helicopter zoom (type-7), replica arny showcase, following bloodsteps. F.E.A.R. Extraction Point - walking in canals, seeing ghosts in hospital, shooting with TG-2A Minigun, walking in a long corridor to an office chair, closing to ghost of Jankwosky. F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate - Replica's death with a bullet fan from grenade explosion, Insurrection of dead bodies as ghosts in laboratory, Nightcrawler's elite throwing grenades at you when he's climing on the wall. Amazing moments that made me love this franchise.
